Try Guzzi pressures, if you're unhappy try upping to tyre manufacturer's - or in between. I run Guzzi pressures & am happy: various tyres, mostly sports riding. But different tyres, different roads, different speeds, different styles - each to his own. Only time I've had small variations in pressure really make big differences in performance was on racetrack. KB

You have Ohlins like on Scura? (I think ride ht on Ohlins bikes is different to others?). On Scura I dropped clamps about half inch (to third ring as I recall). Fair difference, felt much more planted on front running into corners. Was happy with that & didn't experiment further. Check clearances. Watch out for sidestand cut out grounding. As others mention, tyres play big part. I use Pilot Sport 2CT's & they turn quicker than anything else I tried. KB

Laguna Seca Moto GP (now it's a spoiler)

great race - well til Stoner dumped it. Did Rossi trick him by braking early or Stoner went in too fast - former i think? shame about his whinging after the race - for sure Rossi messed up pass at corkscrew - but that was all I saw on our coverage. Stoner's bike is faster & Rossi knew he had to stay ahead anyway he could - one time holding the outside right round a left hander - as good as we'll ever see. stoner's still very young, & with a lot to learn but he's a great rider, & he had the grace to take Rossis hand on the podium & not keep up the sulk. He's more solid than Gibernau. Rossi's got his hands full I reckon - but he's one of the greatest racers we've ever seen (like Ayrton Senna was) - should be interesting. Wonder how it'd pan out if yamaha had a little more grunt... -
It was a prototype, never produced. I thought the motor was not the normal small block but a different design & used in target drones for air force? KB

Sounds like a real gem Great to know the bike & it's life. Daytona's a lovely little bike too, motor has a real sweet spot. Congratulations - I'm sure they've found a good home. KB

Nice! You can't beat a Tonti! Looks pretty original, what's the story? KB

It's pretty normal that m/c wheel brngs are exposed. Generally they last OK. I wouldn't worry about it. KB

When it feels like it's sliding on both surfaces but not pinched. KB

Have you tried shocking it .... ? (sharp tap with something heavy on end of spanner/socket)...better than torque for loosening overtight/seized nuts... KB

I really don't get it. Why the argument? It seems to me some people either don't fully read, or wilfully misunderstand posts that don't immediately appear to support their own viewpoint/prejudice. To say you run high gears at low revs is not the same as saying you think "3K RPM and below is an adequate place to accelerate from in a high gear!" nor that you never use the higher rev range. Look, theres nothing wrong with running a Guzzi at ANY REVS YOU LIKE so long as you DON'T LOAD IT WITH HEAVY THROTTLE AT LOW REVS IN HIGH GEAR. I spend a lot of time running around below 5k & it suits the motor fine. I also frequently rev the nuts off it which mostly also suits it fine. To say one or the other method is the "right" one is surely missing half the personality of the Guzzi. I DON'T LUG IT. THAT is the only issue. Anyone with any understanding or sensitivity will know when the bike is unhappy. If you don't have that sense or are unwilling to develop it, you'd probably be better off riding somethin else - like the bus. KB
-
Well I dunno what you're all on about...gimme a taller 6th gear. I often run below 5k for hours using 4th-6th gears . I find it very relaxing. I don't lug it up hills or whack open the throttle without changing down, just running smooth, keeping speed up on a steady throttle in the taller gears. It's not revs, it's the relationship between revs & load that is the issue, surely. If I need to load the motor I change down the gears til it feels happy. KB

I apologize for DeBenGuzzi

Ouiji Veck, Few yrs back I was out with a bunch of lads & when we got to the pub someone told me my brake light wasn't working. I checked it - working fine, only I didn't use the brakes - I'd never thought much about it before, but I remember you posting here saying how you'd ride like that. With these sticky tyres now it's a bit difficult - a lot of the fun is on the front brake, deep into a turn but trying to get all acceleration done before getting upright back onto the centreline - wear rate is ridiculous. I'd like more wear but it's difficult to give up the grip. KB
-
I'm surprised more don't try Contis. They're good & they're cheap. I don't know how similar Road Attacks are - I used Sport Attacks & they suited character of bike great - slow, fluid steering, very consistent & well balanced. Ouiji veck - not surprised you like them they'd suit that flowing, keeping off the brakes style . KB

Is the V11 part different to the 1100 Sport? KB

Dimitris, Very sorry to here about the bike but glad to hear you walked away undamaged. Something on the road? Changing surface or crest? Cold tyres? First time on unworn part of tyre? I nearly had a mishap yesterday, not paying attention, nearly home after 400miles I didn't notice a patch of gravel mid corner - foot down, just got away with it - lucky. One minute the world's a wonderful place, next minute you can be on your arse. Good luck with the fix, mate. KB
-
Good on you Jaap! That sounds like a real buzz....errr...What is Demo-Racing??? Good luck.KB
-
I like Michelin 2CT's - grip on a good surface just isn't an issue + sharp steering, uniform wear & good feedback. But, like said above, they're a sports tyre & wear ridiculously quick - everytime I go out I have to check if there's enough tyre to get back...I think of going back to longer wearing tyre, but once you've had the stick, it's hard to give it up... Spain are looking very good....saw Russia game & not sure wether Russians lost interest or were totally outclassed, but some of Spain's movement upfront was a in a different league. KB

Excuse the obvious....but you are closing the bleed nipple? KB

I found clutch cylinder had lost a fixing screw & was pulling away from gbox at that point when activated...something to look out for, tho it may be unrelated to your problem. What is the problem w/ cylinder? KB
