    Welsh Waltz II

Still pretty cold here. Seasons are all f'd up - winter's come v late. Been dry today, snow's gone over last couple days. Met office site is currently giving Wed as best day - after that - rain: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/europe/uk/wales.html Back tyre on Scura's shagged & fork seals are gone again - all winter to fix it & just been too busy. Tonti'll go but not sure if my wrist or back can take a whole day... who's up for a run anyhow? bit cold for softy me (7 is max I've seen given for anytime soon) but I don't wanna let the side down... KB
  3. Hey You "one pointers" .....sounds like sour grapes to me.... KB
  4. Ballacraine, have you had the flywheel off yet - I'm interested to know what you find. KB
  5. Sorry Ben, I just happened by & ....well ....now I'm a double pointer - sure feels good. Look at it this way - you've made an old man very happy.... KB
  6. it's a Munch Mammud (mammoth).....
  7. Yeh. I have one on the Tonti. I'll have to check which one tho. KB
  8. Congratulations Pete! Maybe a glimmer of sense & integrity into the dark world of MG customer care! Hope it works for you, not you for it! Let us know dates if you're coming over. Best Keith.
  9. Hawker Odyssey. Not sure which model - will look see. They have a lot of cranking power, hold a charge for a very long time without any attention, but I think have quite a low capacity? I've been impressed anyhow. It's a gel battery - can be mounted any way up apparently (ooo-errr!!!). KB
  10. ...if only I had points to give! If BFG's memory's anything like mine he's worth the point....except I just noticed there's a late entry snuck in to deliver the coup de grace - like shootin fish in a barrel eh Mike! - hope you can sleep easily knowing how much that point meant to Belfast. Give the point to BFG for loyalty to the breed! KB
  11. 03 LeMans is a sports tourer - uses name from earlier bikes but AFIK V11 has no racing success at all. Pos exception is the Billabio (sp?) which apparantly is named after a hillclimb in which a V11 was victorious....praps it was a V11's ( & Buells ) only event! One rash soul (Ashley Law - much respect) did race a pretty much stock V11 Tenni (V11 LeMans painted green & named after old time Guzzi racer) on the IOM at TT 02 - & finished! Bet his underpants took some cleaning after that.... Guzzi have a fantastic racing history but you have to look back to before 1956 to see them consistently at the front at the top levels (with a huge range of machinery from singles to a V8). Since then Guzzi racing has been sporadic & usually as an underdog privateer. Original LM1 won the UK production championship (76?), Dr John LM won US endurance championship (84/85), & BOT (87)....Raceco Guzzis did prettty well in UK....& a few other's have had a go (& today are still tilting at windmills, eh Mr Roper). MGS01 (4 valve ltd ed racer - not sure why they built it but it's lovely - & possibly fragile...) success at Daytona this year shows what's possible. But anyone racing a Guzzi today - gotta be doing it for love...& good luck to em all! KB

    VITTORIA!!!!!!!

Paul, What's in a Daytona RS as opposed to a std Daytona? KB Great news about the win & to see MG still taking any interest in M/C sport.
  13. Do you mean the peg nut holding the clutch hub on (splined piece mounted to gearbox input shaft)? I have a piece of tube for Tonti/5 speed cut at end to give 4 pegs - it's v crude & doesn't fit great. Not sure if Scura/V11 uses same size or even if its a peg nut - probably be better to make one yourself but if it's same & you get stuck I can send it. KB PS Rolf's tool set looks great for anyone gonna be doing much with Guzzis. I hope to get a set sometime.
  14. ...errr......but it's raining..... ?
  15. As I said..... KB
  16. Them outfits look good to me...like a lot of fun. Only ridden one - an old B33 - scared meself witless running wider & wider on a neverending left hander heading for an on-coming 18 wheeler (can still picture it now) - I knew the theory...accelerate around lefts...it doesn't come natural tho...closed me eyes, opened the throttle & well bugger me it worked.... thought I'd got the hang of it & a few miles later put it in a ditch ...just like they all knew I would... Don't knock it if you never tried it. KB
  17. Surely how you set up your bike depends how you ride it rather than where you ride it...???? KB
  18. That's right. MG owners manual, P90: F 2.2/2.3 bar (32/33.5 lb), R 2.4/2.5 bar (35/36lb). KB
  19. On DC Volts ( KB
  20. UK salt? Anyhow I came here to find out about these little ball thingies & all you're talking about is tyres - AGAIN....... KB
  21. Yeah - I get it. Still can't see re the smaller profile/higher pressure=less overheating tho.... KB
  22. ????eh???? - couldn't understand the relevance of other questions either... So you figure the V11 needs a 180 rear tyre? For what? KB
  23. s'too much air. think who might be going without - you yanks gotta realise we all gotta share our planet. 31-33 f, 36-38 rear is enough air for any one man...... KB
  24. ah well - you must be going too fast then... you could fit a slightly longer shock & lean off a bit more. KB
