  1. The 16th/17th/18th May is OK at the moment but if it clashes with the NW200 (dates due to be announced in November, I believe) we won't be able to attend .....
  2. Thanks for your kind words - my eye problem is clearing up but trying to ride motorcycles hasn't helped the situation . I've felt really guilty about the whole weekend but all of you seem to have made the most of it despite the problems. I just hope Antonio and Jaap will still speak to me after coming so far.... I/we will select somewhere like the Galloway suggestion for next year ....
  3. Sorry to read about your damage Guy and David - what a disaster the whole weekend turned out to be . The hotel was chosen from a current 'biker friendly' guide and my previous contacts with the landlord over the phone seemed OK. I can only apologise but I guess that's the drawback of choosing somewhere 400 miles from home....
  4. The best laid plans.... We set off early this morning and got as far as North Yorkshire but had to turn back. For the past month or so I've had trouble with my eyes which developed into conjunctivitis. I had hoped the problem would have totally cleared up but my eyes were proving too painful for riding. Please accept my sincere apologies for not attending an event which I originally organised.
  5. Only two days to go and it's great to see that David is coming over from NI! Pity about the weather forecast, but that can change. Have a safe trip over, Jaap and Antonio - we'll see you Friday afternoon/evening at the hotel.
  6. Not posted for a while due to various reasons which I won't bore you with, but I'm still here and haven't fallen off my perch .... Two weeks to go and we can't wait ...

I put my V11 back on the road today after a break of 5 months and I'd forgotten just how much I love this bike..... It started first push of the button and I spent a great day riding some quiet country roads. I've been riding the Breva 1100 all winter (thanks to global warming ) and while it has its plus points, it just doesn't have the soul of a V11....
  8. Antonio - reference your credit card, this is standard practice for hotels in the UK (and USA I believe) so there's no problem. I don't have an up to date list of who's going but it's mainly V11 riders from this forum (back track thru this topic) and UK Buell riders. We also have a few Dutch Buell riders booked in. I think all the rooms are booked now with only bunkhouse accommodation left.
  9. Excellent, Antonio - glad you've managed to get a room ....

FWIW I've always used an Optimate battery tender on all three (Buell and two Guzzi's) sealed, gel batteries. Never had any problems and battery life hasn't been affected.
  11. Good news!, Antonio. I hope you can make it. You're correct, the Inn is located on the A835 between Inverness and Ullapool - you can't miss it, it's a big building in the middle of nowhere ...... There's no Polar Bears left in Scotland - they ate them all .....
  12. Thanks, Jaap, that looks tasty . Italian bikes @ Assen, mmmm..... How far is Assen from Rotterdam?
  13. Thanks for those ideas - we'll sort something out. Maybe Misano?
  14. Now that the original German V11 Rally has been cancelled and rearranged for 22/24 June - which we can't attend - can anyone suggest another Guzzi event we could go to? We're stuck with the 9th to 18th June period booked off work and ferry crossings, Hull to Rotterdam. Anything in Italy perhaps?
  15. Thanks for the translation, Jaap. I was wondering why it had been changed - our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. I don't think we can make the new dates @ the Oldtimer Cafe either, but will look into it.
