just be aware that licence plates are of different sizes in different countries.
-
My vote for "Don Camillo" too, remember it as really funny. Must check if it's available on DVD.
-
I didn't use them I drilled 2 new holes in the plate and used the M8(?) bolts the normally holds the rear fender to bolt the plate in place.

I talked to Acke Rising, to owner of ISR when looking for calipers for my rebuild. I ended up using used Brembos, at least for now. ISR is a small shop outside Stockholm and Acke is nice man. The standard products are on the site but special thing could be built to order also. This is a customized Ducati Monster with ISR disks and 6 piston calipers:

Balancing as part of tuning the engine is a good thing in it's own right. So the costs of balancing and new rods perhaps should be considered indepentently.

I use Ghezzi&Brian clip-ons, more classic clips with no raise just a straight pipe welded to the forkclamp Gives the café racer look and feel I was after.

I just removed the fender altogether just keeping to metal holder and the little plastic lip on the inside. I bolted my licence plate onto that and a line of LEDs for running/brake lights on the top of the licence plate. (No turn signals - at least not yet) Best part - it is free

Only the best is good enough for lubing my darlings and myself - riding italian bikes Grappa is essencial for a nice post-ride-wind-down A good Grappa is strong with a light scent of grapes and aftertaste of almonds. A dino-Grappa smells like a mix of grape juice and kerosene.

Yeah, sure...! With a bicycle. Milano-Lecco is about 30 min. Maybe 45 if you take it easy. Easy, Antonio, these guys are not Italians. Americans want torque since they don't know the italian way - full throttle stormsedge - in Roma, check the driving style of the scooters, you'll understand what I mean.

I'm using that one tonight on my girlfriend! (she is a Dutch citizen) I could use a good stomping! Rj she may be dutch, but are you a tulip? Edit: Wow, 4th page! -
OK. but that is a DA converter which doesn't have the problems that AD-conversion have to deal with (adapt an absolute value to a fixed scale) The reason we can experience analog media and tube amp as more pleasant is actually due to their shortcomings, they smooth out distortion, with digital if you record distortion (overdrive) it comes out as distortion. Tube does something similar, they produce more distortion that trannies, but it comes gradually as irregularities whereas trannies just cut off at a certain level. In the old days you could record saxophones by stuffing a microphone down the horn and it sounded OK, with digital this sounded like the inside of the horn which wasn't what we want.

hmm, as a bloke who was in the music industry when the digital revolution started 20 years ago, I will comment too. (This is as inflammatory as an oil thread, so don't take it personal when I give you my views on these thing) The 2 AD-converters are gone a long time ago, most music recorded today is converted to digital once and never go back until you put the CD into your player. Vinyl has many weaknesses, first 2 processes is used to make the engraving at all possible: - a conical filter that center lower frequencies to mono - a RIAA filter that do radical frequency dependent compression (the RIAA is reverted as far as possible, the "cone filter" is not) then you got: - media noise - disturbance from external vibration - mechanical problems like dust and scratches IRL, no way is vinyl better than CD. It's just a cult, just as strong as the dino-oil-cult. These cults are both based on mumbo-jummbo-physics IMHO. Then most CDs is not produced with optimal quality, but that was certainly the case with vinyl albums too in their days.

This would means running WITHOUT oil would make the break-in very swift if we got rid of friction dampers all together. Dino-oil is a religious cult and the price difference in Europe so small that wanting to join the cult would be the only reason to use it in a engine in good condition.

I'll add my 2c now when I feel good about it. I never experienced the tail wag last year with the bike stock with Battlax BT57 sporttouring tyres. After the winter projects this has changed: - New fork, 30 mm shorter - New tyres Pirelli Dragon Corsa with radical profile - 120/60-17 front: 12 mm lower - 160/60-17 rear: 6 mm lower - new lower clip-ons 30+12-6=36 mm lowered front makes for a little steeper and combined with the lower clipons and sport tyres it should make the bike turn easier and it does.. it very responsive The backside I could clearly feel the tail wag after bumps in high speed (from 150+ km/h). Still I wasn't too concerned since the new fork wasn't dialed in yet. First steps: - raise the tyre pressure to 2.4/2.6 bar - dial in the new fork and stiffen the rear a bit to match the Paioli (or an Öhlins ditto) can be run with stiffer settings than the stock Marzocchi since it is more responsive. Much better, but still noticable both too hard and too soft suspension setting both make the wagging much worse. Still I wasn't happy, but a got an idea - stiffness isn't always friend. I had my steering damper (Öhlins) set to lower medium hardness (like 6 clicks of 15) - I loosed it too just 2 clicks and went out for a ride. The bike is just as stable as in stock config and much quicker through twisties. I am very happy The backside of this advise is: I don't think the stock Bitubo steering damper is up to the task - it just has too much inner resistance even a it's loosest setting. So if you have trouble with tail wag - try removing the Bitubo all together and take it for a spinn - if it helps the handling - get a Öhlins unit.

check Cliff's Cliff's site read Latest News, My15M is ready to roll! I might buy one this winter.

OK, done. Waiting for Zlatan's italian contract.

Are we talking about this...? Yes, if PCIII gives you ultimate control, My15M turns you into the Diego Armando Maradona of Guzzi engine tuning
-
hmm, I think I can get it here in Luleå so I took for granted that it should be available in more crowded parts of Europe too. But checking the redline oil site there is a swedish distributor but no dutch such. I could get and send you a couple of bottles but I would try to just do a oil change to some high quality gear oil (Castrol synthetic for instance) maybe with a few drops of moly. I have seen recommendations for different redline oils shockproof heavy and shockproof light. What is the final verdict for smooth gearbox action in a colder (european) climate?

Ultimate? Then using a My15M from Cliff must be like controlling the hand of God.

OK. I called myself a poseur. If modify my bikes to get great handling and nice look and then being proud about what I built - it nice when people like what they see. That was what I meant. It is a bit like art, even the most introvert artist do strive for appretiation of his fellow man (and woman!) Some of you guy certainly ride more miles than I do, but the garage time is part of my motorcycle experience. And for all hour us tinkers get dirty in garage refining things on our bikes during long winters I think we can be allowed to look good during summer The bad side of poseur-ing: *buying* an image/lifestyle takes little of imagination, skills or creativity. Now if I just can get my exhaust together I can post pictures of this years winter project.

No you don't. There has been some theories about velocity stacks, but no real beef. Velocity stacks has to be calculated for port times and a specific rpm range you want to optimize. I have not seen any such calculus yet, just slapping on a bit of tubing does not give you a better performance. Beside the K&N on Al's bike has i bit of intake runner build in, the RC-1200s on mine don't.
