Yes I agree, the brighter the oil light is, the lower the oli level

The recall came about from a long term test bike on loan to ' Cycle World '. Which makes me wonder if this had not happened to a press bike... would the rest of us have ever been notified? Me thinks not.

Carl that picture makes me dizzy! Besides that these people is driving on the wrong side of the road.

Docc I dont have anymore than 10,000 miles , I haven't ridden it in the last 6 months due to a back injury I was told by several different Doctors that I cant ride bikes anymore. I borrowed a dual purpose bike from Mike at MPH and I can see that this kind of bike will allow me to ride on the sly ...long travel susension Anyway I m looking at a Triumph Tiger ,KTM Duke something along those lines.Anyway I switched to synthetic in the trans at about 4500 miles and noticed a big improvment in shift quality ,not trying to start a oil controversay just my .02.By the way what happened to Konrad? is he still in the U.S.?

TX REDNECK (R.I.P.) replied to Motomonster's topic in Technical Topics
I have a edger thats about 25 yrs old ...anyway I put some of that stuff in it and started it to get it in the carb B4 I put it away for the season. I can't remember that motor running that good in the last 15 yrs.... in fact I went edged the yard again. GOOD STUFF! -
No problem Doc , I just thought[ and me thinking can can be dangerous} that you you being from Tennesse you would know about shotguns and 4 wheel drives. The last time I bought 25lbs of shot it cost about $3, but that 20yrs ago.., so who knows maybe Jason is talking about some new metric shot.

V11 Sport Steering Head "Brackets" (?)

There was something I should have mentioned , having a good dealer who stands by by the marque whether he sold it or not . I just can't say enough good things about M.P.H in Houston. I didn't even buy my bike there, but you would never know it. What few problems I have had have been rectified in record time. You can guess where my next Guzzi will be purchased. Now that I've done all that ass kissing I sure hope Mike will give me a discount on some parts I ordered last week.
-
Coming from a mostly Brit bike background and really knowing what it was like to reliabilty problems the Guzzi's problems seem like nitpicking. As I get older I dont have as much time to have that much of a relation with my bike. I've had BMW,H D and just about every Jap bike made, they all had the soul of a refrigerator. The bikes I remember most fondly are the bikes I had a relation ship with and with any good relation it takes commitment. I come from a era when we walked 5 miles to school ,uphill both ways. I'm not saying that some of you youngsters are wrong I'm just saying thats what attracts me to Guzzi's And believe me tinkering with your bike is some of the best therapy you can have. So suck it up slow down and work on your bike make those small improvements and take satisfaction that you made the decision to work on your relation with your Guzzi. Or just say to Hell with it get a divorce lawyer and go buy a Honda.

TX REDNECK (R.I.P.) replied to Dirtybill's topic in 24/7 V11
I think everyone of you people are snobs and suck ass's . And if any of ya'll dont like what I have to say just bring it on, but I'll tell you right now you dont want to force me to put on my Ninja suit cuz I'll put some internet karate on your ass. I'll kick your ass so hard you'll be able to use my shoe laces to floss your teeth :finger: -
Mine were replaced under warranty at 4 k . My dealer had to raise hell with them for 2 wks ,but they finaly approved replacments. My dealer talked them into replacing them with Spieglers as the replacments were from the same batch. Any way the Spieglers were ductile iron and the carriers were lighter than the Brembos quite a inprovment over stock.
-
I also have the peg relocation kit... and it's perfect for me. I wear a size 13, but I have to get my shoes from the Barnum & Bailey clown department.
-
Jason are you married to Miss Cleo? ... cause I was just thinking about where I was gonna put my cup holders and my 8 track player.
-
Now Rich can we get you to make a half bra for the v11 tank. As a Tx Redneck you know that I always wear my big cowboy belt buckle and it's always scratching my tank, besides I always tell anybody that will listen to me how famous you are. Did ya'll know that Rich once made a custom wheel chair seat for Raymond Burr. You know that ironsides fellar.

Scott I replaced all the relays with new Bosch relays. Some where on this board are the Part #s .I think its in the FAQ section.
-
Scott my bike was experiencing the same symptons as yours after riding thru a heavy down pour, after several days of dry weather it was still cutting in and out at part throttle. After checking every connection I could find,I was starting to pull all my hair out like Al . It turned out to be condensation in one of my relays( thanx Mike at MPH).I say this because you live in Seattle and thats all it does there is rain
