My knowledge of english is very limited, to understand the new technical terms involved in Pete" s analysis of his "exhibition", so no comments on that. On the other hand , I have heard politicians promising everything to get elected, .......usually they say to people what they want to hear,....so I wonder does every Australian want a goat?????!!!!!!! Cultural differences never stop to surprise me. Συμβουλες 1/Μην πινεις οταν ψηφιζεις 2/Μην πινεις οταν φτιαχνεις Guzzi 3/Μην πινεις οταν γραφεις στο forum 4/Μην πινεις οταν αρμεγεις την κατσικα

Very nice bike. Thank you for the photos, it is not often to see a so well preserved bike, and such good story. Some years ago I was close to buy one, but it was in parts in a crate and I backed off when I realized the size of the restoration project. Take care of her,....and enjoy !!!

My manual says air temp sensor, so I agree with people who already mentioned that. I have not installed pods on my bike, but a friend with V11 sport /2000, who loves KN pods gave the following solution after many trials. After installing the pods , the V11 didn"t run Ok, maybe the sensor gave the ECU wrong data... He wrapped the air temp sensor completely in plastic tape, and then with the engine running opened small holes with a needle, until the idle was OK.I remember that after 3-4 holes ,the idle was almost good Then tied it up somewhere close to the frame. I don't say this is the best solution, but at least it"s easy enough to give it a try...

I don"t own a BREVA, but I recently did a test drive for a whole day , and I can say that it was a very pleasurable bike. The philosophy behind the styling ( like it or not), is a do it all bike (commuting, two up travelling, even cornering if you are in the mood). The ECU was fine adjusted, the bike was smooth, and easy to handle even in city traffic. If you need it, it"s a good bike, tame for a GUZZI is not a bad thing when you have to do with a touring bike, drivetrain recall should be fixed by now. as for the windshield it was Ok for me,...don"t know what you don"t like. I own the grandmother of BREVA, the 1000 MILLE GT and after 12 years with it, I still use it every day to do the dirty work and save from many km,....my other Guzzi..s

I installed MG ti -kit 1 month ago, and since then I have adjusted the TPS 3 or 4 times trying to find an optimal value. Instructions coming with the TI kit say 2.9 for bikes with front crossover, but this value doesn"t work, at least for my bike. Bike starts to work almost perfect, when I get close to 3.6-3.8, but still doesn"t have the smooth sense it had before Ti kit. Maybe Tuneboy, Direct Link, PCIII, allow a better degree of fine tuning, ..........although some time ago I was thinking "who needs them....???????"

Guzzi ownership brought to my motorcycle life a feeling of calm, relaxation and it"s like the ad of Jack Daniels.. time is sloooooooo....www. I used to buy many moto mags, to know last models, details, Hp, ......and so on, I felt bad when a new model of my bike was arriving in the market, because newest is always better...., and although I enjoyed driving my bike , I was in a constant alert, to change it, save some value and add money to go for the next one.... Now, only for that MG saved me a lot of money , no mags ( at least in regular basis), no envy for new models (even for new MG), no money for the loony doc, (do I have the better bike , doc???),... On the other hand, I learn German and Italian to read the Workshop manuals, my hands are more often black, I order my parts from the internet,..... since Guzzi after sales service is as always very basic, and people wonder what"s the problem with me when I stop for 15 minutes looking at a parked Guzzi. Is that happiness my Doctor???????

Respect to Michael Schumacher
v11cafe replied to Guzzirider's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Fast talented drivers can be fast with anything that got wheels, but next comes the hard work to gain the needed 5 sec( Shumi), or 3 sec for Rossi, that make the difference between 1st place and 10th. I believe that today one needs to work double than older days to get a title, because electronics in F1 and Moto gp close the gap of physical speed and talent among drivers. Anyway, all drivers in a F1 or Moto gp grid are really good... and the work of the team counts a lot, for the final result. -
Don"t really know if there are different settings between US & Euro models, but my V11 never suffered from a hole in midrange, or if it exists, it is not obvious on the road, maybe in a dyno....... My set up is Ti kit (ECU+cans), with stock crossover, and I am thinking to add the Stucchi for the extra top end. You say that Mistral is better than Stucchi in midrange, please make a comparison (by feel) of both with stock crossover. Is the Stucchi worse than the stock in midrange??? If you have the time, your answer would be very helpful for me to make my decision, since you have tried them all.

Here is the original V7 special. The logo on the tank is a lot better. Don"t understand why they use this small oval logo, instead of something bigger like before. Even V11 has a smaller than older bikes, but still decent size eagle on the tank!!!!!!!

I believe there are more Greek members in the forum. We have a good and healthy Moto Guzzi Club in Athens, with very active members. As for music , I can say that it blends really nice with the sound of a V11, or any Guzzi, and helps to stay mentally healthy when Guzzi .......goes to hell, and you try to fix it!!!!!!!!!! Thank you
-
Fully agree. NICE AND CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-
I appreciate nice sound and nice looks.Guzzi has both!!!!!! Also it is an enjoyment when you ride it, even when you fix it, only bad thing is that a street legal version of MGS 01 is not available. I am waiting!!!!!!!!!!!

My image of Moto Guzzi , is of a sport brand, that made it"s name by racing everything they got, Normale 1921, 4cv, sport 14,falcone sport, v8 , v7 sport, lemans etc. You can live by selling touring and naked bikes, but Guzzi needs at least to honor it"s history and have a special sport bike in production. MGS-01 or something in this direction, with street legal equipment, would be a statement to the heritage of Carlo Guzzi, and a model that reflects the spirit of Moto Guzzi.

Today I received an e-mail from TLM Holland, (Ben/service department), that confirmed my suspicion that bikes with My 2003 ECU, cat and lambda sensor, cannot ( and don"t need) be adjusted regarding the CO value. He said that I should adjust TPS 2.7-2.9 (465mv ), and leave the system to do the rest. It"s a closed loop system, self adjusting mixture and other parameters of ECU to achieve the desired value. "The sensor takes its name from the lambda factor = (A/F) / 14.5, so lambda = 1 means mixture in stoichiometric ratio lambda > 1 means weak mixture lambda Quote MG Manual Maybe a PCIII can bypass ( I am not sure) the sensor but I don"t feel the need yet, since the V11 works super.
-
Lambda sensor is a small cylinder shape thing that seats on the crossover (upper side). and there is a cable going upwards to the ECU. You can"t miss it , if it is there.

Things can go bad to every motorcycle or car maker.Others react fast , and others like MG ...slooooow. Guzzi is a small firm, and a very big name in motorcycle history. At 2004 they made 3800 bikes I think (Aprilia), and they celebrated 10000 bikes this year with help from Piaggio. "There seem to be two groups of Guzzi's - the ones who never have any problems at all and the ones who have everything go wrong." That is a true statement, but does not only apply to Guzzi, it"s true even for Hondas!!!!!! My riding life is full of models by BMW and Guzzi. Most were super, trouble free, some were Lemons, but I was always willing to fix them, because I love them so much, and I enjoy the special character they have. Only two times, I bought a Yamaha and a Honda, and both were lemons. The Yamaha TDM 850 93 model( bought it 1 year used) was leaking gas on my lap from the seams of the tank, and was weaving like hell at 160 km, the sidestand valve that controls the engine start up decided when I was permited to ride the THING.....etc Next lemon case the HONDA a Transalp V 650, bought it new at 2003 to save my Guzzi..s from city riding. Second day in my garage there was a big oil stamp on the floor, haven"t seen such thing from any bmw or Guzzi. Under warranty they fixed the front cylinder base gasket. Fisrt time I rode the THING to a highway, it was burning unleaded like a V8 truck at 150 km!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sold it in 4 months,....and don"t want to see it again. Shit happens, but I prefer to be on a Guzzi when it happens, than paying money to fix a THING....

I installed Ti- kit 5 days ago. My bike is 2004 Cafe Sport /front crossover/MY 2003 ECU/cat/lambda sensor. It was an easy and straightforward job, and the bike looks good, with the titanium cans looking at the sky!!!!!! Big difference in weight, something expected because of the cat in the factory mufflers. Also big difference in the produced heat... I touched them by accident while adjusting the bike ( engine was running more than ten minutes in idle) and ...no marks to show my stupidity Sound is exactly what I wanted, more bass notes at idle, a lot of twin cylinder character in 3000-5500 range, and not at all disturbing or too loud in the whole range.Non omologated Mistrals are louder, but I use the bike in city, so Ti cans are perfect. Bike feels strong, but gives me the impression that revs a bit slower,...anyway no big difference than before except the wonderful sound.May be that I adjusted TPS at 3.8, you see instructions were missing when I received the box from TLM, and they send them to me by post. Now I read that the proper value for MY 2003 is TPS 2.9, so I will try it and ....see. Also instructions say to adjust CO at 4%, but I don"t understand how you can do that.A friend has a gas analyzer, and I gave it a try to adjust the CO at 4% using the bypass screws, but the Lambda sensor was always correcting and changing the mixture. ANY INFO OR SUGGESTION WELCOME!!!!

Nice trick .I'll let you know if it works for my .........ss , maybe my wife will have a decent sleep one of these nights.

WOOOW!!!!!!! Back in home!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree.Blue is not my color......Guzzi eagle +red is the right thing.

I bought a set of Guzzi Ti pipes 02+ and there are no instructions included. Can somebody post/upload /attach it ??? Guzzi manual for v11 cafe sport says 3.8 degrees +/- 0.1 degree TPS, but I read in another topic that the instructions coming with the Ti- set say 2.9 degrees +/- 0.1 degree for bikes with front crossover.
