I bought a set of Guzzi Ti pipes and there are no instructions included. Can you post it if you have it??? Guzzi manual for v11 cafe sport says 3.8 degrees +/- 0.1 degree TPS, but you say the instructions say 2.9 degrees +/- 0.1 degree for bikes with front crossover. Hope we find a clue

Same thing happened to me in similar conditions (heavy rain -many km). The problem in my case was the dual horns.I took out the cables from the horns and the fuse stopped blowing (f5). After a few days that the horns dried, the problem stopped My opinion, disconnect all the plugs that function with F6 and then start reconnecting one at a time. When the fuse blows, that is the problematic one. Hope , it isn"t the switch... Good luck

I bought a TI kit last week from TLM(...still in the box). I would like to ask you if your CDI has any kind of label, because mine has only a pencil mark and...that"s it. I have seen photos of CDI with sticker , .....and I wonder what goes on Let me know what label or mark has your CDI If your bike is recently adjusted (valves, tps, etc) , fit the kit ....and have fun!!!!!! There are no special adjustments for the TI kit

If you pass out earlier, I suppose the mixture is too rich according with your measurements, but you should take in consideration the tolerance of gas analyzer in CO2, due to local air pollution. I am a well trained Athenian : so, I might stay half an hour and tell you that your bike is lea....aaan

I don"t know any other method.I didn"t have previous v11 models. These are the right steps for variants V11 sport MY 2003 V11 le mans MY 2003 V11 Rosso Corsa V11 cafe sport V11 Ballabio. My bike works great, that"s why I don" t want to experiment with alternate methods. Maybe I am a bit short sighted and blinkered, as Roper put it, but on the other hand I don"t doubt the manual, because it works fine for my bike. I believe the sensors take the data, when you turn the ignition key, not when you press the starter button, but I am not sure.

I think you try to invent the wheel once more. The topic is going twilight zone with all these mumbo jumbo....I believe the Guzzi is not that hard, (at least not harder than other bikes) to properly adjust. Read the FFFFFFFFFF...... manual, if you don"t have it, buy it, or borrow it, or service your bike to a dealer, so you don" t have to worry about TPS setting. Nowhere says the steps described for tuning TPS by Ryland3210, or in that order. There is an update manual for V11 2003+ Guzzi with different TPS settings than 2000-2002, (3.4 degrees physical opening is not right) although the method is quite the same. INFO when Guzzi manuals say right side that is with rider on the bike, not looking at the bike face on, so Ryland3210 my Cafe sport has the TPS on the right side body, hope yours too, otherwise you have a Cali and you don"t know it. I hope the forum administrators will not permit to continue this topic, because half truths ...plus some magic ...never tuned a Guzzi properly. It"s OK for fun to say anything you wish, but here some "do it yourself" people try to learn or confirm some things about their bikes or problems they have, and I expect more seriousness when someone posts a ( claimed) tuning guide.......

There is a solution to read the standard black dipstick more easily. With a sharp knife or something like that, carve notches (with care....) between the min & max mark on the dipstick, from all sides(4). Wipe it clean with some cloth, or water so plastic dust goes away, and you"ll see that the notches keep oil and make it easier to read the oil level.
-
Maybe you are right...and I run a little low on oil..... maybe they are....and you overfill your sump. Anyway, the Cafe stays with me for at least the next ten years, so we"ll see. I'II try to contact Moto Guzzi on that matter,....if I have news I will post it. Thanks

I bought the Guzzi part for 12e each.Is that cheap?? Give some more info about the metal "shims" , .......no rattles.....looks solid???km with new shims??????

I read the other thread about "Roper plates and oil level", and while many things are right in theory and maybe there is some practical improvement, in oil circulation/starvation, I don"t feel that I am enough expert to say that Moto Guzzi is wrong in such an elementary factor of the design of V 90 engine. Anyway redlining repeatedly a Guzzi in 1st gear , or wheelies longer than 1 minute, make bad to your...pocket. I cannot prove it , but I don"t feel Guzzi can be so wrong with the dipstick marks.... Maybe the the right thing would have been to notify the Moto Guzzi PR department about the thread with oil level issue, and wait for a satisfactory answer. Hope they give one.......

HELPPPP.... I read in another topic in the forum that the marks of 2004 v11 cafe sport dipstick are wrong. Truth is that the manual says 3.5 lt in oil changes, but the max mark on the dipstick is reached with 3 lt in the sump. I always guessed that the oil radiator keeps some oil, plus the oil filter, so I assumed that the dipstick is right. Tha oil light never comes up, except once in a very rainy day, where I stopped to check the oil level, it was ok, and the light went off when I restarted the engine. If somebody knows, something......LET ME KNOW, because the last thing I want , is to ride my Guzzi with 1/2 lt less in my sump.. if this is truth.

Cafe sport 2004 Ohlins deserve the extra money 100% Carbon parts .....nice touch....good quality. Problems so far: Leak front crossover Broken speedo cable twice (now I have the new one... Let"s see..) I LOVE THE BIKE Oil level indication on dipstick was incorrect and low. Filling with amount of oil specified by manual, showed the correct mark to be about .8" higher than the mark on the dipstick. WHAT IS THAT?? NEVER HEARD OF IT!!!!!!! I know that the dipstick shows max about 3 lt in the sump, and the manual says 3.5 lt, but usually the dipstick is right, not the manual in Guzzi tradition. IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL INFO, ANSWER BECAUSE IT IS VERY............ .IMPORTANT!!!!!! I don" t want to ride with 1/2 lt less in my sump. IS THERE A GUZZI BULLETIN ABOUT THIS MATTER?????

Welcome , 03-34 models don"t have engine paint problems (....so far, my experience). Some minor things that can go ...( happened to me ) ...wrong: Tacho cable breaks often if you don" lubricate it (it is short and the angle..... is shittttttttt) check for air leak from front crossover , easy to fix but bad design... If the bike is standard (no mods), and somebody changed the oil frequently, you are OK. Don"t worry so much about problems.Bad things MAY happen to any bike from any factory. My theory is that I prefer to pay fixing a GUZZI(..although I didn"t have problems..), than some other bike. IF YOU LIKE THE GUZZI BUY IT, AND ENJOY...

I bought my V11 ( and my other Guzzi..s ....)without test drive, no reading comparison tests, no talks about if it is good or bad, just by looking at them and feeling the magic of the bike and admiring this small company which gives for so long bikes that touch your senses. In real world (not track days, competition etc) THE GUZZI goes and turns fast enough for me, and the pleasure it gives me, moving or standing , is so .....much Buell .......146HP...what to say???Looks that a marketing wizard wants to fight with Ducati & the Japs So Buell welcome to the world of HP!!!!!!!!, and special bikes , where every six months there is a new bike stronger, faster, and better but watch out, the others are not sleeping, even GUZZI with MGS-01 WINS RACES I" ll be with my GUZZI in ten years time , when the 146 hp buells will have left this world for their metallic graveyard.

I don" t know if it will help you, but the same happened to me with my Mille GT. After a small accident (left side )with 30km, the bike was looking ok ,me also , so I felt lucky. Two days later I missed a gear change, thougt it was my fault, and so on..... and I ended up with the gearbox stuck in fourth gear.Everything looked ok, Lever -linkage -return action of the lever etc. but Took the transmission out, and no visible damage was evident.(preselector normal wear/spring ok/ ....)Put it together on the bench, and ..... started working. My bike has 60000 km so I payed for a new preselector +spring, and changed the ball bearings both sides ( to be on the safe side....), and now everything is ok. Now, an amateur guess is that with the fall preselector and spring changed position, from the one that the screw at the back of transmisssion adjusts, so it explains why I couldn"t do something externally by turning the screw. It was out of range....If anyone has other opinion ....glad to hear. Generally , when a gear stuck in transmission 1/check that gear lever + joint has adequate place to move up/down (from frame /transmission case etc) 2/Move the wheel back and forth with one hand and try to change a gear with your other hand( if you have a center stand)If not, push the bike and try with your foot to operate the gear lever 3/last you can try the screw at the back of transmission, maybe with a small turn one way or the other the preselector+spring will come in the right position.Warning not much space/the bike can be HOT/>>>

I have a 2004 Cafe sport which came with M-1 Sportec as first tires.I can say it was a good choice for the bike, I had alot of fun with them , but after 5k >>>...I needed tires. So I tried Diablo Strada which is more touring oriented, and I can say that so far, so good. The steering is faster, they change direction more easily than M-1, they are good in wet, they don"t grip better but it is Ok, and they look and behave still good after 5k... I haven"t tried the Corsa, so if you try it I wait for report

Ohlins set in Cafe Sport is superb...magic carpet..plus you don"t have to adjust anything It"s set up on the soft side a little, but that makes it perfect all around. When I bought my Cafe Sport (new), the price difference over the Ballabio was 1200E and that was liitle money for all the extras you get...plus ...I like the colour scheme

May the thief burn in hell, but regarding that ..... Guzzi"s are not high in the list of ...thiefs...I approve of his good taste....!!!!!! Hope the damage is only at the bar end (they probably tried to break the steering lock by kicking the bar) Anyway be happy, the bike is still there

Never imagined that a carbon muffler will...create such a philosophical mood> I say The rule is ...pay and try ...If you do it, .... share with the rest, ...because no one can afford ...too much trials!!!!!!

Real men go naked.... or at least with a small fairing

Thanks, but seems to be ready made solutions (Stucchi cat crossover)...I have already order it Thanks again.

What ECU?? Tit set??
-
Good news then!!! What is your set up? Stucchi+ Stock mufflers??? Tell me your impression>> As for the Lambda sensor I don"t really understand what it really does... so let it be seated ..... on the Stucchi!!!! Yes, ..... it"s there. European models 2003+ have it.

Break in: Kid gloves or ride it like ya stole it?
v11cafe replied to zen_kick's topic in Technical Topics
I agree 100%.Plus no town riding for the first 1000 km.A nice curvy road helps breaking in all components of the bike (brakes/suspension /gearbox.....) + YOU. -
I read many topics in the forum about crossovers/mufflers/ tuning but the unlucky v11 owners 2003+ seem not to have many choices. Only the MG Tit. set is available as an ( ....expencive ) option, and lately I heard about a Mistral crossover with place for the Lamda. Has anybody place it to a V11 2003+???? If I buy a Stucchi crossover (I read many positive opinions), what happens with the Lamda sensor? Can I eliminate it or the info it sends to the ECU is vital for the adjustment of air to fuel ratio??? Any info/reply welcome Thanks
