....think I just did something wrong...sorry for the double up folks

Perfect hard rockin' that ain't about "girls, cars and being a groovy teen!". Truly a song written for our times. Except that it was written for it's time. And unfortunately will have similar further chapters. Just not penned and set to music by one of the best rock bands in music, period. SO many great songs outta the Wolf, IMHO.

Hi tomservo, Welcome aboard. Seems to me there's alot of VFR owners who end up with them sitting on it's stand while the V11 quickly becomes the ride of choice! My main suggestion in your search is get an Ohlins equipped model. The extra $ upfront will be totally forgotten the moment you've railed through the turns and hills around the Guttenburg/"Bueny" area for a day! Later, S.H.

Hello back, and welcome to the site! S.H.

Been there. I concour.

First, real sorry to here about yer ride. They are great, "tuff" looking bikes. Almost bought one before I got my Nero. In my experience, the parts bill for stuff you've mentioned, plus the other damage found when an experienced mechanic goes over it, leads alot of bikes to be "totaled" by the responsible insurance company. 4 years ago, I had my only crash with another vehicle on my bike. It was totaled, we agreed on the price, which came from the NADA website (I'm told most ins. companies use this, not KBB), and I bought the bike back for what is pretty standard $400.00. Then fix it on your own, or part it out. I sold my remaining good parts on eBay for way more than the original purchase price PLUS the $400.00! If yer poor ride IS by insurance terms TOAST, we here will help augment the the search for a proper replacement, and assist with the financing too! OH, DEFINATELY establish contact with both her and your ins. agents asap. The accident has occured, the wheels are already in motion. Hopefully your agent may assist you in establishing a fair deal no matter how it goes, GOOD LUCK no matter what. S.H.

Hey Nicholas, Always nice to "meet" another new member, you'll dig this site no doubt. Oh great, MORE Guzzi guys with that whole "individualistic free thinker" tag. Good, we need more like you as this site is top heavy with "monochromatic personalities", NOT See ya around, S.H.

Another shot from a great riding day...God, I love this bike C'mon Nero owners, show us some shots of your ride!!!

The Nero Corsa, the "Black Racer". Perhaps the rarest variant of the V11 Sport/LeMans series, produced only in the final year of the V11's production. The inimitable Moto Guzzi sound and feel. The handling confidence inspired as only the Ohlins upgrade package can do. The stunning dark gray on black, the tasteful splashes of red.The true embodiment of "motorcycle as kinetic art". The one you SEE, standing out in the crowded field of the same ol' red bikes. And you, dear reader, know this to be true, in your dark little motorcycling heart: "REAL motorcycles only come in one color...BLACK."

The description of this page says, "spill your guts here". I feel that while we are here for the great site featuring our models first and foremost, we are not simply our motorcycles. Freedom is dangerous because it requires retraint and goodtaste to function smoothly. I don't even mind when this thread gets alittle bumpy for some, as this is only words, and if you are that offended you probably shouldn't tempt yourself to read further. A very big topic of the American Presidential campaign was how to, or even if we should speak to countries with whom we are "not seeing eye to eye with". Here, we deal with the same topic. You may not like the truth told from a different perspective, but it remains truth with the speaker none the less. Let the free market of ideas prevail above all. The globes worst collection of human attrocities were in lock step with the quashing of free tought and speech, even now in this communication age. I love the continental mix that this site delivers, and believe me, I have a couple members here who do not "see it my way". I always read them because I already feel I know my opinions well enough. And I am happy to see the personal shots seem to have abated some after a few of the rowdier threads a bit back. Politics hell, remember the thread on if a wrist pin circlip could get btween the piston and cylinder wall!!! Now THAT was wild and wooly!!!

And there's a picture of this swingarm splash guard with dimensions in "all pictures" at the top of this page if you wanted to make your own, too. I made my own, and made a "curtain" out of an old inner tube that hangs from the back of the battery box. I ride in the rain, (snow yesterday!) and do not have any tranny fluid fouling issues.

Welcome to the site, it's a great source of information on all things V11, and then some. It seems you got bit, like soooo many here!!! S.H.

As far as I can tell, the Corsa editions didn't have any special numbers to identify what number in a series that they were produced in. I would undertake such a task if I knew how to most logically procede. The last three #'s of the vin maybe?

First let me state I backed neither the Republican or Democratic candidate when I voted in now my 7th election. As an American citizen, I hope for the best from our new Commander in Chief, both for us, and as a leading symbol to the rest of the world. Based on the campaign, and now the last weeks decisions, I fear we will get anything but that. He didn't even mention the Russians and their announcement of their plans to further their missle program in his press conference. He did not take a single question from any news source he felt is not completely on his side, and even removed them from them from his campaign plane to be replaced with "fluff" publications in a very blatant attempt to squelch ANY percieved dissent. America, and the world, have a right to know, and ask ANY question. David Axlerod, Mr. Obamas campaign head stated on PBS television, "The Choice, 2008", aired just two weeks ago, that Mr. Obamas plan for his run for the Presidency was to NEVER make ANY decisions, and NEVER vote for or against ANYTHING. He voted "PRESENT" 160 times as my state Senator, far more than any other in either house. As a tax paying constituent of his home state, I am greatly offended. I helped pay his wages for the last four years, and hoped he would try to improve the nation's situation. His STATED PLAN was to do NOTHING, save further his own personal ambitions and rise to power. IMHO, both parties care not so much "who's winning" as long as they both continue to wield that power exclusively. "Absolute power corrupts....".....ah, you all know the rest. REPUBLICRATS and DEMOPUBLICANS, thats our choice in the "Land of the Free"...

With my list of mods to engine and exhaust, and a heavy throttle hand, I get about 35 mpg+/- every time I've cared to check. On the other hand, my "smiles per mile" is consistently higher. God, I love this bike!

Welcome aboard, GB I bought mine after seeing only pictures, and never having ridden one. I just knew after all the reading that it would be a bike I liked, after years on Harleys and Beemers. My Nero has been by far my favorite bike to ride of them all. Look in the classifieds on this site. A member has just posted his LeMans and it is all sorted out, upgrades done, price is very fair (IMHO) and it's not that far from you, but far enough for a great bonding ride home. Good luck, and happy hunting! S.H.

Currently available V11 Le Mans After Market Exhaust!?
savagehenry replied to XPLRN's topic in 24/7 V11
The V11 tanks are made of ABS plastic, so a magnetic bag won't work. The strap on bag has a front strap that hooks to one corner of bag front, wraps under the frame, comes back up and hooks to the other side with quick connecting clips. The back strap is just one strap and clip. One end of the strap has a loop. You wrap the strap under the frame at the tanks rear, put the clip side through the loop and procede up with the clip, snapping it into the female part of clip, attached the the rear of the bag. There is a neoprene base, like scuba diving suit type material, attached to the bottom to keep scratching down. I have not noticed it dulling my paint in any way, but have only had it this on for this season thus far. To fill, yes, the rear clip is undone and move the bag off the gas cap. When I said "slide", I meant move it to the right, you can lift it up if you want. You can flip it up to the fairing on my bike and it will stay, but I just move it over. Ride, fill, repeat!!!! -
Currently available V11 Le Mans After Market Exhaust!?
savagehenry replied to XPLRN's topic in 24/7 V11
Hi, and welcome to the forum, xplrn, I've got Fast By Ferracci carbon fiber slip ons, and X-over. Love them, sound is so deep and mellow below 5000 rpm, then they are positively Roarty. ALOT of people have told me they think it's one of the coolest sounding motors they've heard. Reminds me of a massaged Mustang motor. Get them at FBF in Pennsylvania, and check their website for everything they offer for our V11's. I also really like my Nelson Rigg CL450 (large) tank bag. Easily large enough so swallow two 1.5 liter wine bottles and then some, and I haven't even used the expanding part yet. Sides, pockets and top have stiff walled sides, so it keeps it's shape. Also, I feel the teardrop shape compliments the V11 body lines as well as any other, considering how any bag ruins the flowing shape of this, the most beautiful of motorcycles. It does come with a rain cover, and it does it's job pretty good, but I don't carry a cell phone, or any electrical stuff so I can't really vouch for it's overall water tightness. Fill up: pinch clip to undo it, slide bag to right, fill tank, slide back and re clip. Real simple. Good luck in your riding, S.H. -

Hey Man, I was immediately kinda saddened by the announcement of your fire sale. I have often enjoyed your posts, both for your fluid, train of conciousness style of writing and the true feelings about your ride, and "The Ride and Her Riders" (we belong to "The Ride" the way I see it) your posts often conveyed in general. Then I realized you are a man with a plan. You will be lovin' it. Write in every now and then, ya hear? May the best of your past riding be the worst you ever see from here on out. Later, uh, Aloha! S.H.

I had a similar experience once. I had just bled my clutch, and the next day it was engaging WAY later than the day before. I found this in the early morning on the way to work, my shifts were totally out of time , something I didn't have to think about before, now battling it the whole ride. Turned out to be my son played with the lever and put it either on to a different adjustable setting, or in between settings. I didn't even think to look for this as I had not messed with it. Hope it will be as simple as this for you

Go to www.motratech.com to see them firsthand, and to order. The website address is shown in Ryland's posts. If you are in the market for this mod, IMHO he's got perhaps the best for ergonomics, and they look real nice to boot!
