I have similar feelings about many (or most?) of these custom-builds; see also what is happening nowadays to 70-80-ies BMW boxers or K-series... truly shocking! Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder, and I can imagine that some of the builders are very proud of their achievements, but it is definitely not my cup of tea. The V11 is a natural beauty and will probably soon become (or already is?) a style icon (and stands way above fashion "trends" like wrapped exhausts; black matt paint, tractor front tires etc....) So there is really no need to do these horrible things to her. One can also wonder how some of these customs ride....

Congratulations! What a beauty! The same happened to me early 2003: I had been riding BMWs for ages and then.... Eureka (aka "Aha erlebniss"): I discovered the V11. I will never sell my red lady. Let the Eagle Fly!

Good morning, there was a general problem with the wrinkle finish on all V11s (see for example and that is why Moto Guzzi at least in Europe organised a call back. So if you find a V11 with wrinkle finish that is still in good condition, it has been redone (by Moto Guzzi or by the owner).

My 2003 Le Mans Rosso Corsa which was converted in 2010 to dual ignition and a different camshaft to improve midrange response, by HTM Aachen, now approx. 30,000 Km (and..... not for sale anytime soon).

I have been using this one (http://shop.becker-technik.de/en/motorbike-lifters/24-central-lifter.html; see also http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2995 ) for the past 15 years. Very simple and effective. (see also )

V11 Looking for rubber cover brake/cluth pump
rosso corsa replied to rosso corsa's topic in 24/7 V11
Thanks a lot Jaap; will drop them a line -
Hello, I am looking for the small round black rrubber cover on the brake/clutch pump to cover where the side mirror is normally fixed. Anyone knows where to find this (I tried Stein Dinze and Wendel in Berlin but they do not have it). Thanks a lot.

Perhaps this can help? http://www.wendelmotorraeder.de/coupling_ap8104192-p-3037788.html?ref=expl

Ouch; unless somebody can fix the broken pipe, this is a big issue (had the same issue a couple of years ago and managed to find a second hand fuel pump... these things cost a fortune).

Battery V11 Rosso Corsa 2003: recommendations?
rosso corsa replied to rosso corsa's topic in Technical Topics
Thanks a lot. docc Your suggestion makes a lot of sense. After all those years I was. however, thinking something in the sense of: "Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability..... Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster." . Perhaps this does not apply to the battery for my Rosso -
Ciao, After 16 years (!) my OEM Hawker battery seems to have given up. I saw on the forum that some of you have replaced the Hawker with the Odyssey PC545, whereas I have also seen recommendations elsewhere for the Unibat X Racer 15. I ride my Rosso Corsa two/three times a year during longer summer trips; the rest of the time she hibernates in a cozy garage, battery disconnected. Thanks a lot.

A bit of a belated reaction, but, judging by the colors, this beauty does not look like a Rosso Corsa (even if it has the Ohlins front fork).

No Ti pipes; nu plaque. But, great paintjob and the Ohlins suspenspion.

I can recommend the Geelong Carbon Craft fender. Easy to mount and perfect fit (www.geelongcarboncraft.com.au)

Blast to the Mountains
rosso corsa replied to GraeV11's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Sorry to read about your mishaps. I took my Rossa several times on similar trips; only problems (so far ): several speedo cables; one rear view mirror that fell off on the Autobahn. I would think that your brake problem is highly unusual. Even during race track use, one can rely on the brakes. I still hope that you enjoyed your trip! -
Nice pics; like the AGV helmet.

New reply to old post ..Did you check with Bagster (French brand). I like their system with the tank cover. Bag is quite spacious.

It would be great if these option bags would be interchangeable with the Teknos, but I have the impression that the mounts are very different?
