I was suspect to temp sensor but havent had time to check to make sure the boots are not craked letting air in. I am leaving next wed for locania bike week so I plan on having it nailed down by then. The hickup deal maybe a little different. the tune up calmed it down by 80% at least I think i will have to spend some real time on that one but any advice will be greatly welcomed. Brent

My bike does sorta the same thing has 3000 rpm hickup and sometime right off idle. Just did a major tune up new air and fuel filters set tps and ballanced carbs by instructions from guzzitech site. Now the odd thing is my rpm rasie, at cold start 1100 stedy, ride 10 miles or so it increases to at least 15 to 1800 rpms. I dont trust my tach cause it wrong and havent had my meter with me on a ride.

Or is the gps doomed to stay in the truck to find customers adress to pick up there cars so i dont have spend 20 mins on sh-ty directions

We have 2 islands 3 grades of product. One line from each tank T ed off for both islands. One valve at tank side one at pump side for each product. One pump for each grade. One pump motor works dispencers on each side of the pump. Thats how the the layout is here. There is so many ways there done and a lot depends on state fedral or who you pay of in the position of power in your nieghborhood. So for me thats three lines nine valves.

I would remove the new starter and replace it with the one you took out. It sounds like the brushes in the starter are expanding with the engine heat. I get a lot of starter that are no good straight out of the box.
-
Pete you did say it had a few hickups during the test ride in one of your other posts right?
-
Is it abuse if the goat enjoys it too NAAAA

I could be wrong but you need the right rpm to exicte the the regulator to get it to work. Old VWs all had the battery light on till ya hit the throttle. I would check the idle make sure its not to low
-
My bike does that every once and a while i chalk it up to the regulator just doesnt exite right. If the light came on and stayed on i would start worrying
-
I might sound dumb and i havent read the other tread but u cant get to the zerk with a flex hose on the gun?
-
Start with a complet tune up valves plugs throttle bodies fuel air check the tech topics you will find how toos on all things to take care of. I just did all that on my bike with my buddy fuelcoolers help and it runs great now. I think the same will happen for you just check with the old owner to see when the last time it had a workover. I bet it was a long time ago

You should find all the info you will ever want here

There right it is all about what pump you have. In my case and i would think its the same for everyone when your contract is up for your brand .You negoaite what you are looking for and if you need new pumps thats what you go after the catch is they pick the pumps. Therefore the valves are set up for the type of pump you are working with our pumps have two sets of valves one on the pump side one on the tank side. I dont know why two but i do now it has to do with holding the prime of the line so the pump dosent have to pull so hard. My pumps are odd though the guys who repair ours say that we are the only station in Nj with the pumps we have.

If you are filling up where there are a diffrent nozzel for each grade there is no comingling thats how mine are set up. If there is only one nozzle for all grades u might get a little of the last grade but its not very much at all. A big varible would be where the pump is located in the ground or in the pump itself. The fuel compaines are very greedy bunch and there are a lot more company owned gas stations then mom and pops like my familys. They dont loose money or product. There have a very good check valve system to let the fuel drain back to the line but not to the tank to keep its prime. Thats why the pump runs for a second before it acuallys pumps. There is not much $$$ to be made on our side of the fuel world if we let a half gallon of super go for the regular price to would be big $$$ at the end of the day. To wrap it up you could get a little resdule fuel in the line but it wouldnt be enough to measure or make a difference. Now if there is vapor recovery systems in your state then if not maintaned they fill up with fuel from people toping there tanks off just streach the hose out and pull the boot on the nozzle back and it comes flying out I have seen about a half gallon from doing that. Just remeber u get nothing for free any more

As deben said I would all the service work myself and let them do the custom mapping. Ive been to the shop and talked to them about doing a map on my bike. They told me that it would be no problem. The shop is very clean and neat i belive there more than equiped to do that sort of job you might even get luckey and the man himself does the job. Happend to my buddy. If you stay around while there running it, there is a window to see whats going on. I am doing mine as soon as i have the cash to spare maybe this fall. They would be my fist pick in the tri state for that job

Everyone is auto parts is now stocks this two part glue that works great. We use it on occasion and it really works. Dont glue your fingers together like everybody does with krazy glue i dont know if you would get them apart with a trip to the doc. There is a few different brands they all seem to work well. -
