No i havent checked with tool yet (no time you know my old lady the slave driver). It does sound to high to me and if i wack the thottle idle drops down to what sounds normal then rises back up. When i get home from work tonight will idle your bike next to mine and i bet mine sound higher. If i get a chance today ill hock up a tach. Then i will know for sure but i thinks its a little high Good luck and god speed Brent

Since were on the subject. My bike seems to have a little of a high idle after the winter. It always idled at about 900 now it about 1800. I checked to see if the high idle lever is stuck nope throttle cables are also free and go back to the proper stop. Has anyone else had this problem Thanks Brent

My 2000 does the exact same thing but not all the time just every now and then it will hickup. if you get it figured out post the fix. Mine does it around 3000 if you are lugging the motor and tends to be more predicable the hotter it is outside. Good luck wish i could help Brent

I not sure about RI but in Nj there is no such thing as winter gas its 10% enthol all year long. I bet RI is the same. I have noticed a lot of my repair customer say there mpg has also droped off with the switch to 10% ethnol. A waring to those non stable belivers the new gas does not have the shelf life as the strait gas of olden did. My lukoil rep also told us that the 10% fuel does not take to any water at all. I belive the numbers were(I could be off dont hold me to it) 1 pint of water will ruin 30,000 gallons of 10% ethnol added fuel. Good Luck and Good MPG Brent ps not a fan of enthol

My stock forks were redone before i bought my bike. I think the work very well Steve said the same thing. I am also a 250 pounder and they seem fine with the stiffer springs and different oil. The rear shock is to soft though. I shoud check my paperwork to see who did them. Ill let u know

Dont shake the bars just wiggle the wires i would start with the one going to the switch on the clutch. If that dosnt work switch the relays.

I belive engineers are just like everyone else in the world. Every now and than you find an asshole or a guy who is completly brillant. I find myself staring under the hoods of many makes of cars sometimes i says wooh thats a great idea or i say if the guy who thought this up walks through the door right now i will punch him in his head. He never does so we wish bad things on him. What i am getting at is sometimes things look good on paper but work like shit in the real life.
