Hello, I have installed on my v11 a termignoni full exhaust and open K&N filter. After that the bike started to give backfires between 2500-3000 rpm indicating too lean mix on low rev. So I have fully close the air screw, adjust on my dealer the co and enrich the mix on the ECU. I have took the bike for a short ride on a hot day and after the engine was hot enough the backfires started again at 1500-1800 making almost impossible the ride in a city. I modifiyed the tps at 160 mv fully closed but still no improvment so I've decided to buy a power commander. The problem is that I have tried all maps available and under hard acceleration it has shorts and importants losses of power (I was about to fall when accelerating in a curve). I'll reset the ECU on factory settings and start again but I think that the right map is important, so if someone has or knows about a map for termi/open k&n please let me know. Thanks

ECU Magneti Marelli IAW15RC for sale. It is used, in perfect condition. I have removed it because I took off the lambda sensor. 200 euros shipping included.

Yes they told me the same about the air screws and they put them to 0.5 I have done the balancing before but I'll check again. I was thinking that it could be maybe because the air flow is still big and may lead to an excesive heating and not closing well the intake valve. I have checked the sparkles and they look ok. Perhaps a power commander will help?

I went to a MG delear and they adjust the CO and also the fuel to compensate the open filter. The bike runs great but only over 3000 rpm. it still have backfiring under 3000 rpm and also the engine break isn't as strong as before... any ideea?
-
Hello and thanks for your answer. I will do that in the next few days. However I dont't know if the CO has to be set at 3,5% or higher because in the tuning I have installed open K&N filters, Termignoni exhaust and an IAW15M ECU, and the engine has now a much larger amount of entering air.
-
No, I didn't but I think it is mandatory for the bike to run well at 150mv unless a very good reason is provided. It is the factory setting after all...
-
Yes it has backfiring through the carbs The air screws is set at 1.5 and no air leak

hello everyone, After adjusting tps the engine began to give detonation in the airfilter. I don't know what I did wrong as I have set the tps on 150mv (fully closed), then syncronize the cylinders and finally set the tps on 520 mv on idle (1000 rpm). Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks, Paul

Thanks. I've just opened the gearbox because of the failure on getting down from fifth to forth gear. does anybody know the use of the excentric bolt situated close to the shifting rod???
-
Hello! Is it possible to take off the gearbox individually or I must take off the engine too? Thanks

I belive that the 15M ecu must be an V11 one because of the map difference.
-
Not doubt about it. I know Europe from up to down and from west to east but if I can do something ( within my budget) to improve the factory performance I go for it.
-
Hi! Does anybody knows where to buy an second hand 15M ECU? Thanks
-
Thanks everyone for the support. I've checked the price and it is far to expensive for the improvement that the conversion looks to brings so I've decided not to do it

Hello everyone! I am looking for a good, profesional place within Europe to make a twin spark conversion on my mg. does anyone can help me? Thanks
-
Never had a tuned-up. I checked the intake rubbers and looks ok. I have tighted a little bit the screws but that is all.... I guess the problem could be the tps sensor or maybe something else??

hello everybody. i have a problem at 3000rpm. the bike is making a sudden acceleration quickly followed by returning to its original revs. everything lasts less then one second. It is only happens around 3000 rpm in any gear. anyone knows something about this? Thanks
-
Well, things have chainged a little bit from since...not so cheap anymore but good food. And you can enjoy amazing landscape (despite of some quite nasty roads) I'll post some pics when I'll return.

I'm preparing the luggage for a trip from Barcelona to a wonderful little place on the Black Sea coast called Vama Veche. I will be leaving on monday and I'm so thrilled about it as is my second year trip to that place and the last year it was just great. I will be riding about 3500 km to reach there, crossing Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary and finally Romania...so everyone is invited (even for a couple of curve ) See ya on the road

Well........Finaly I've found out where was the problem. In 2004 MG decided to unify the 2 different reds in just one code. So now the GU01023540 is the same code for Mandello and Corsa valve cover....Wasn't been more inteligent and easy to made JUST ONE RED for the 2 bikes from the begining???????
-
how much did you pay for the one cover, I would be interest to know. cheers Nigel Well....I guess you better paint them, cause one cover costs me 200€ (including shipping from Holland to Spain). No cheap at all
-
This is a good ideea...Thanks! What kind of paint should I use ( to avoid the fade out)?
-
Well this ideea didn't cross my mind, I guess because it is much more unlikely to be so... and by the way in the invoce recived from Teo Lamers the product description says: "VALVE COVER V11 ROSSO M". Hmmmmm... M from Mandello?????? Regards
-
Yeah, it may look similar in the picture but the fact is that mine is like red with a shade of orange and this one is a dark cherry red. I have also check out with my local dealer and I found out that are 2 different type of red: one of it is for Rosso/Nero Corsa and the other one for Rosso Mandello. Anyway putting diffrent cover can result extremy annoying even if nobody else but me will ever notice the difference... I guess I'm too perfectionist...
-
Hello! I wanted to replace my valve cover (rosso corsa) that was scratched in a fall and i contacted Teo Lamers. They sent me a diffrent shade of red cover (mandello red I guess)... They insist that is the right color for my bike and the difference of shade is because of the color fade (I have to admit that the color fade a little despite the painting technique but is definitly a different kind of red) and that answer of them raised questions about their professionality..... I will send back the cover and I was wondering if anyone knows how and what painting is used for the cover (including the type of painting, the color code and the procedure in order to keep the paint unchanged by the heat). I put a picture to see that the difference is not caused by the color fade... Regards, Golem
