I will post the curves, and am willing to PM my maps. My experience is that my previous PCIII custom map (no airbox lid/Stucci/Ferracci cans) was money well spent. Not perfection, but significantly better. The bike would still ping if I whacked it open too quickly - even with the "accelerator pump" feature turned on. I haven't heard a price yet for individual cylinder mapping, but will ask when I bring it in. Also considering putting the airbox lid back on, the volume is a bit over the top as is. Removing and replacing the QuatD (to pull the cat) has encouraged me to fiddle with it's positioning, and I've gradually removed some of the washers I originally installed to maintain clearance. Not all gone, but it sits a bit higher now. Hats off to BFG - taking a big hammer to a pricy brand new I-talian gee-whiz bit is beyond my courage Also, for anyone else that wants to pull the cat, aluminum rivets won't cut it; use stainless steel.

I'm guessing a PCIII + proper map would be good for an even wider grin My Quat-D just lost its cat and the bike is feeling pretty lean below 5k. Not bad elsewhere, but I don't trust my butt to feel anything other than dips and bumps in the power delivery. I've just scheduled some dyno time for early May and will post the maps when done.

It's their version of a board tracker - check the "Moto" section of the Firestarter website. Beautiful, but with no front brake, it scared me just to look at it sitting in the window.

Mine did a version of this - turned out to be intermittant contact between a header-to-crossover clamp and engine case. Sounded nasty, addressed easily.

See my comments above, but in a nutshell, the "ice grip" version offers a step up from the slippy tank. It's clearly visible, but dosen't stand out too much. Durability may be an issue.

Got a different drummer here. One's enough for me....until I find time/money/space/patiemce for an SV650 and Duc 748. Then, I'd love a clean Eldorado.

Hmmmm...you're braver than me. I considered this, but chickened out. I switched to Diablos but didn't downsize; helped a bit. Maybe if I switched back to clipons with a 170 rear... What tires are you running?

You and me both. Crushing my manparts on the tank every time I slow down just isn't that much fun. I added the "ice grip" version, making my own templates; was easy to apply. Helps keep me from sliding forward and it doesn't stand out too much visually, but I think I'd like even more grip. Also, after a season it has started fraying at the edges. It's currently better than the slippy tank, but I'm thinking pulling it off to try: http://www.stompdesign.com/stompgrip/street_univ.asp

I moved to bars a few months after buying my 2002 Naked; this was my first "sportbike" and I wasn't comfortable leaned forward. Adding bars quickened the steering. I felt like I needed lots of pressing on the clipons to push the bike over -- lots less effort required with the bars. I've had no handling problems due to this switch, but I ride conservatively on the street. Unfortunately, my riding ability has improved and I'm less happy with the upright seating for track days. I'm considering moving to "convertibars", so I don't have to swap everything over everytime I do one. YMMV.

Thanks for the photos Carl - Very high cheese factor , and I mean that in the best "life would be poorer had Liberace not existed" way possible. I'm more of the "zip-tie the wires and hope the relay hangs on too" school. Course my zip ties aren't as shiny as your hose clamps.

Thanks rH :!: About six inches, width is important, no substitute is readily available, and fits in an athletic supporter? On the other hand...never mind, I'll check some more office supply places. At the risk of spurring further inanity - did yours need to be bent? To keep my Fiamms from bashing about, I put a couple of bends into my stock brackets and I guessed it was the levering action that broke them. ciao!

Thinking about whatall needs doing for the upcoming season, and this is one of those things. Last year I found my freeway blasters dangling on more than one occasion. It's hard to look cool when my bits are swinging about. Also probably not ideal from a safety standpoint... I didn't find anything called a "banker's clasp" online at Staples or Office depot. Can you provide a more specific pointer? Thanks for your post, sounds like a good solution.

Sometimes I think us US taxpayers never know what "we're" actually doing... Thanks for the offer, it's hard to know how to be effective with something like this. I found the personal touch worked best when I visited - if I was taken as "kin", things got done. In contrast, I have little faith that sending the stated amount, to the designated address, labeled with the official ticket numer, by registered mail...would produce any predictable result. Regardless, my (half-Italian/half-Irish/all-fire) wife wants us unbanished so we can go back and enjoy more histrionics in the future. Hard to beat if you're not trying to accomplish anything in particular. Think you're right, they must have caught us on camera making some outrageous maneuver that I wouldn't consider making unless I was in Italy or Boston. I thought I was supposed to drive like that??? Enjoy your trip!

Yesterday, nearly five months after the wife and I drove around northern Italy for a few weeks (in a rental car), a traffic ticket shows up. Is anyone with the needed language skills willing to look at this and let me know how much money to send, and to who? Babelfish tells me that I: "circulated in the zone limited to traffic benche to the accesses were exposed marks indicating them the prohibition." I have no idea what this refers to, but I can say that driving in Milan (where it occured) was a hoot. --Andy

It would be great if more physicians had better science training, but in my experience...not so much (at least in the U.S.). The history of western medicine is littered with insane "treaments" unfettered by controlled studies of human biology. I've also been turned off by the hucksterism provided by some of my chiros (in place of sound theory or evidence). Many physicians play this same game, but their profession has been entrenched for so long that they don't usually worry if their authority is grounded. I think Chiros preach at you partly because no one knows quite why their methods can be effective, and partly because they're fighting the American Medical Association lobby.

Sure, the one rule is: you must stick your head out the window to . Unfortunately I ran over a "yield" sign during one of my last adventures in this vehicle. I found this both ironic and humorous; the cops...not so much. Haven't been in jail since. Track days almost make being an adult worthwhile .
