I just wanted to share this because they came really great. A guy (Spaceclam) over on the wildguzzi board made a set of 10 of these. I know most of you here have already addressed removing the fender. I will post a pic of it installed on my bike when I am finished. This design only removes the lower plastic fender portion. Previously he made some (different design) for the Griso as well. Bob

I HAVE THIS STUFF! Thx! Bob

lol...they have these? What is gear box lube......sorry but I am the "hack" here . I used wd40 last time and didn't really do anything. Bob
-
It has done it the 2.5 years I have owned her and tried lubing but obviously did not do it well enough....will try again! Thx!!
-
Yikes!!!! Any saving her? Bob

Ok, then how bout my "bouncing" speedo.......I just pick the reading in the middle to publish on this chart! I am sure that is the correct Guzzi procedure!

I do mostly city driving....here are a few from my 00 Sport approximately but close. 3rd Gear - 4,000 rpm 45 mph 72.4 kmh 3rd Gear - 5,000 rpm 60 mph 96.6 kmh 2nd Gear - 5,000 rpm 38 mph 61.1 kmh 2nd Gear - 4,000 rpm 30 mph 48.3 kmh Note: I have one of those "vagluelia" tach's that starts at 500 rpm's.......does that throw off all my numbers? Hi Guys - He needs but 5 more interested folks. There must be 5 more that have those ugly rear fenders on? Bob Hi - there is a guy over on the Wildguzzi forum that might be willing to make up a set of Tidy Tails for our V11's if he gets enough interest. He has made a batch for Griso's and folks seem to like them. He is the thread on WG. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=31687.new#new Bob

FWIW - Lots of folks still asking $1,500-$2000K more for these. If it is good shape, I believe it is well priced for a Lemans. Bob
-
FWIW - When my fade I will just polish them. A few guys have done that here and I like the look. I am not sure you will get the color back without a re-paint. Bob
-
FWIW - I read many posts where the red-frame V11's actually handle better going one size smaller rather than larger. What I did when I changed mine. Handles better. I have read where others have gone larger.....I am sure they will chime in for you. Regards, Bob

I agree and love my low mileage baby too...still adding toys......new Maund seat and exhaust on the way........just are not worth alot. I have read many say that they bottom out in 8-10 years and then will hold that way or maybe even slightly increase from there. When you can buy a new Breva and Griso for just over $8K, a used bike like ours does not hold a $6K price tag. I am planning on keeping mine a long time. Bob

Hi - I do not know this bike but I think our bikes are bottoming out price wise. Didn't I just see a Tenni go for @$5,200? That Maroon one has been listed 3-4 times on eBay. Bob
-
Yeah, Guess I shouldn't mention the new Maund seat coming this week and the guy that is making me a custom exhaust! Bob

Hi Tom, Some can correct me if I mis speak. It really is a visual display of bike. TPS,idle, etc. I believe the chip in the Norge/newer bikes can actually be adjusted via the software. I just use it to hit the numbers I have read on this board. 1050 for idel, 3.6 , tps etc . Again, was told you can do all this with a volt mete, but this is easier for a novice and my wife likes to by me toys. Regards, Bob
-
FWIW-My wife bought me VDST software the GuzziTech website. Few hundred dollars for software and cable to plug into your ECU. It is primariy a visual diagnostic tool for our V11 but think it can actually make adjustments on newer bikes. Anyway, most mechanical folks here and Wild Guzzi told me all you need is a volt meter to do all necessary tune up work Iam sure they are correct because most are far more mechanically talented than I am. The VDST is nice, hookup to your pc and visually see all but you still adjust everything manually. My bike has yet to go to a shop and runs well. Regards, Bob

Planning does work. JUst last week my wife was out cleaning/sweeping the garage. Got dust all over my bike. Needless to say the seat was totally ruined (wives are like this). No worries though, Rich Maund is now in the process of fixing it up for me! Bob

Yes indeed. Just hope she didn't scratch your exhaust with those shoes?!

FWIW - I am a return to riding guy (after 25 years) who also loook and lusted after a Ducati. I am not a mechanic and I soon discovered thru my research that Duc's need to be serviced professionally and more freqeuntly and Guuzi's can be kept well running much easier and by even a non mechanic like I am. This was a major factor in me choosing a Guzzi. 2+ years of ownership and have done everything myself and found it to be very easy with little more than a 3/8 ratchet, metric sockets and hex set. Another thing I learned and liked was the many folks have > 100K miles on their Guzzi. I saw a quote here by someone "how many ducati's do you see in your travels with more than 30-40K miles on them?" or something like that. Best of Luck, Bob

Hi Al, FWIW...I have read from many posts here that those that were uncomfortable found great results with available foot peg lowering kits. I know MPH had pics of before and after so you can visually see the differences a kit. I am 5'10", 170 lbs with a 32.5" inseam and I am quite comfortable on mine. Best of Luck, Bob

Looking for the rear intrument cluster (Plastic) for a V11 Sport. Rregards, Bob

Hi and Welcome! FWIW I have changed my oil 3-4 times...more to time rather than mileage. I have always dropped the sump. There are only 14 screws and I can change my oil in 30 minutes. I actually think it is easire than messing with the man-hole cover. You can also check it all out while it's down. I do not remove the oil hose on the back of the sump...it is not needed to sucessfully change filter, gasket etc. Also use a clamp because for $1.99, it is cheap insurance. There have been more than one report from guys that work at reputable dealers that have seen them in person.......so why not? Best of luck, Bob

Hi, Sounds like you are fairly skilled already. The one item I can attest to is when changing tires, go one size smaller on the rear. The stock was a 170-70 on our bikes. A member of this board (Ratchet) suggested superior handling with these redf frame bikes (25 degree rake vs 26 degree for your previos bike) and I agree since switching. Greg from MI suggests we use hose clamps on the oil filter. Despite many opinions on this ,Greg has seen more than one hit his shop where the filter has backed off. I have used one since I read his post (Cheap Insurance IMHO). There was a Con Rod recall.....guessing your bike had the recall work completed? I am not posative, but I think your manual calls for a different weight oil from your previous V11. The manual calls for 20w50 on our 2000 models. I use AMSOIL. You are correct, much debate here. Can't help you with pads.....haven't done that yet. Many others way more knowledeable than I am will add for you I am sure. Congrats on your new to you V11! Post a pic! regards, Bob

Recent tire change with Guzzi lift, MC lift and wood under the front of the sump as well as a car jack under the rear drive. No straps and very stable. Yes, I should have used straps! Ratch, did you bend the handle on yours or am I remembering incorrectly? Bob
