  1. For sure the easy route would be to go with Keihin FCR 41 as there already exists a Kit for the 1100 Sport carb. The kit is perfectly tuned and the FCR gives superb throttle response and performance. I have also looked at the Mikuni HSR (typically the 42 looks good on paper for the 1100 2v) and should give very good result as well (they are designed for big HD V2 engine). From a technical POV, the HSR and FCR are pretty similar too altough the FCR are more "race proven" than the HSR. In either case, you'll have to find a solution for the ignition but there are a some options out there. Mathieu
  2. To be honest, I don't see it a as a pb that Guzzi does not offer a "replica" hypersport model. R1 and the likes are so powerfull that it becomes silly. I just hope they will still propose machines with decent ability for spirited driving. A half faired Griso 8v 30pounds lighter and with shorter wheelbase would do just fine with me.
  3. There is a 6 page article on the Guzzi factory in this week issue of "moto revue", a french magasine. The Guzzi Marketing Director said that Guzzi would not be entering the sport bike territory that Aprilia already occupies. He also confirmed that an 1400cc 2 valve pushrod engine will appear soon in the cruiser range.
  4. I just received the same message and I have not posted on this board for a while now. Mathieu
  5. Thanks for the answer Paul. As for your point n°3, I have no doubt that you would succeed in that enterprise !
  6. A french bike webmagazine (motostation) has relayed the same info about the 1200 sport benefiting from the new 8V engine later in the year (meaning next year in Guzzi language ;-)) From a technical point of view, would it be difficult to fit the new engine in the MGS ? Just curious...
  7. The engine sounds very nice, deep and powerful. I doubt very much that the exhaust was street legal because it was as noisy as my 1100 sport fitted with racing mistral. I think it is strange for Guzzi to test drive an engine in a non streetable form but it is Guzzi and one of the reason I love it is that they do nothing like others...! The gearing seems short because when he went away the engine reved high very soon. But I am used to the gearing of the 1100 sport with a very tall first gear (which goes up to about 90/100 km/h)
  8. Not a V11... But better than a V11!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Hello, I did my initiatic journey to Mandello this week. When I arrived in front of the large red door, I parked my bike to take THE picture every guzzisti is dreaming of.. At this moment, the red door opens, and a Guzzi Tech comes out with a prototype Griso 1200... I jumped on my bike to follow him.. He went straight to the gaz station at the next block. Here is the picture I took :
