  1. Thats what I was hoping for Paul, I like the look of these and bet they will add a few more bhps to the power curve. Do you know if those are the aluminium end cans? They do them in Titanium as well I think. Probably will need to get a power commander if I were to go with it. Regards il_cacciatore
  2. Hi people, Just wondering if anyone could tell me if Quat-D's "Vitto Replica" exhaust refers to their cross-over piece? Was thinking about getting some quat-d end cans instead of the exbox system. Anyone ever heard what these sound like? Hopefully not metallic like the exbox? Regards il_cacciatore
  3. Can it be replaced with something abit less expensive that the carbon fibre one for a hassle free alternative to the rubber?
  4. Hi I believe that it could be the core but it might possibly be the stem as you suggest - I'm not sure if they are originals. I'm going to try and change the core first and if it still looses air then I'll have it changed in with an angled valve stem. My front tyre will be needing changed soon and I'll ensure that is changed in entirety when I fit new rubber. In Scotland they pile salt onto the roads most of the year. The slime 'solution' came about subsequent to visiting another different anon motorcycle shop who proceeded to claim that motorcycle tyres couldn't be plugged and that by doing so I would be not only risking my life but everyone elses life around me! Obviously I didn't believe that story, it eventually ended up with a different motorcycle shop telling me that the nail that was in the tyre was too far toward the edge of the tyre and was in at too great an angle to be plugged. I didn't realize that Slime was a corrosive substance! I'll know not to use that again. Don't fancy spending a ton of money buying a new rim. I have a feeling that most motorcycle shops around my area talk nonsense as a matter of course to get you to spend as much money as possible. Many Thanks
  5. Hi All. My old rear tyre was a Bridgestone BT020 that had caught a nail. Instead of having it plugged (I was told it couldn't be) I had slime put in it. The slime never worked properly as it didn't stop the tyre loosing pressure allbeit ever so slowly. After several months and thousand miles later I was ready to get a brand new tyre after the endless hassles of having to inflate the tyre every weekend that I chose to take it a run. So I bought a Metzeler Z6 Roadtec. Got the tyre fitted to the wheel and installed it back on the bike. The weather was crap so I tucked it away in the garage with the intension of taking it out a run when the weather improved. Woke up to a real nice sunny day, opened the garage door and... FLAT TYRE! Feck I thought, must have caught a nail again but after a close inspection there was no nail. Next culprit was the valve. Put some washing up liquid on it and found that my suspicions were correct. Ok, so why didn't the garage that fitted the new tyre not check or indeed replace that as a matter of course when fitting the new tyre? That would be normal practice for car tyres. Phoned them up and was told that they don't check valves but could rectify the problem... at a cost of 5 quid plus labour! After spending over a hundred quid on new rubber thought that was a bit off. I had went into the local quik fit and the guy gave me a car valve. I thought it would be a simple case of just taking the core out and installing the new valve but it didn't fit. My question, are motorcycle tubeless tyre valves a different size to car tyres? My next question is, has anyone fitted a 'turret' valve to their Guzzi as the standard one is difficult to get at with a compressor attachment and a L shaped valve would result in more convenient re pressurization of the tyre. If so, do you know what diameter the valve hole is on a Guzzi wheel? Many Thanks

  7. I use the abba stand. It would be impossible to coup the bike using it. Its rock solid. You can also change the attachments to suit other bikes too.

  9. Thanks for that suggestion Paul. Noticed that these are about £100 more expensive than Harris, will that be because they are better quality? I'll need a fork head as the one I have has risers on it and its red. Wondering where I can get a new one, I see Rossopuro sells them;
  10. Guzzi dealer sold me a blank and got it cut at hardware shop with basic key cutting facilities. In the end only cost me a couple of quid. Moral of the storey? Timpsons will try and sell you things that you dont need! Theyre just chancers.
  11. With the update, took it to the dealership about two weeks back and was told that its been remapped for optimal performance and not fuel efficiency by a magnetti marelli specialist. Just going to leave it be cause there is no running problems and no noticible flat spot either.
  12. Hello people Looking to get a set of clip ons as the previous owner put bar risers on it. Looking to grab some of that handling back by getting some additional weight over the front wheel. Done a search on the net and found these Harris Clip Ons and wondered if anyone has experience with them. Don't want to buy anything outwith Europe due to high import duty and taxes. Been stung before by buying stuff from USA. Any alternatives worth a mention? Cheers ears

The Mole reported that Guzzi stated in the facts and figures at the end of the financial year their intentions in the next financial year on focusing in on the 750 - 1400 cc market and the areas of naked bikes, cruisers, dual sports and sports bikes. Given that they have filled all those brackets bar one in bold, the mole speculates that they may well be going to go for the road going version of the MGS-01. Unfortunately the artical was brief.
  14. £25.00 each!!!! Cause its a transponder key they wont cut an ordinary one without a transponder so they insist I buy a transponder key. Theres no blanks on ebay just now. feck.

Of course the temperature sensor's function to the ECU is to enable determination of fuel/air mixture ratio but what I'm saying is the plastic housing must be of the correct material for the job to conduct heat to the temperature sensor because if it needed a brass housing to make the bike run correctly then surely that's what the oem part would have been and not the plastic one fitted if the plastic material is not capable of conducting the heat to the sensor itself. I realise that its like everything else that costs need to be cut in some places to enable healthy profit margins and value but if this part is critical to the overall well being and running of the bike then surely they would have used a brass part instead of the plastic one that is fitted? If the temp sensor is broken itself then that's a different issue surely? I'm just theorising here and not challenging anyone view or opinion that has been kind enough to lend me some advice as my knowledge of the Guzzi engine isn't substantial enough in order for me to come to logical sound conclusions on these matters.
