This is the way a load shedding relay on BMWs work .

I see where some BMW rider and his ambulance chaser has filed ( in NJ ) a class action lawsuit against BMW for all things , faulty gearshift indicators . Their feelings are hurt because the rider cannot tell what gear they are in . Somehow , I can see that .

Yes , I found that . I was trying to get one at a parts store and that # doesn't cross to anything . I will order from a Guzzi shop . I was trying to help the member with the messed up oil light and found mine didn't work . I was trying to figure if it was n.o. or n.c. ….. I guess n.c. because if I ground it w/k.o. it lights up .

Is there a part # for the oil pressure switch ? I have looked and cannot find one .

Disconnect the wire @ the oil pressure switch with the key on . If the light remains on , you have a ground from this terminal to the light.

Hmmm. w/o looking . If you can keep it tidy and use a larger gauge wire , I would give it a go .

Also , make sure the shifter does not bang / rub on the pork chop after reassembly .

I bought a charger from SnapOn that does flooded cell , AGM , etc. $100 .

When you go to install this , remove the shift lever bolt 8mm dia. I think . the nut at the inside is a jam nut so loosen it 1 turn and unscrew the pivot bolt . Remove and grease everything .

I know , they are between the top and bottom triple clamps ?

I have Time=Sert , Heli-Coil and a kit from Fastenal . For this the heli-Coil would be fine .

I would make certain you had a good ground to the engine . I would put it at the battery cable ground . -

Well , you can buy a fuel tank if you want to change colors . Any Colour You Like .

That is how these switches work . 0 pressure- closed . Min pressure - open .. Closed position grounds and the light is on . Min pressure opens and the light goes off .
