  1. If you own a V11 you need to do this .
  2. Redline it is !
  3. Somewhere on this site , a guy installed a return spring to hold this mechanism up and in place . Find it and do yours like this and it will never fail .
  4. As long as the best looking portions of the thrust washers face the rollers you will be good . Assemble with white lube you will be ok.
  5. The part on the lower left , is the thrust face in perfect condition ? Can you clean it up and take a close-up photo of it ?
  6. I hope the washer in the upper right is going to go on the worn portion of the part on the lower left ? If not & If this is as ugly in person as in the picture , you are spinning your wheels and you need this part also . That bearing is a Torrington bearing and most good bearing supply stores can get you the OEM quality part . I'm not too sure about this replacement in the picture.
  7. I replaced my vent pipe ( rubber hose ) and no check valve was in the hose .
  8. Any fastener that goes into a open hole should have thread sealant on the threads . Blind hole fasteners do not need sealant . When you do supply sealant , the bolt should be completely clean and free from any oil . Same goes for the hole threads .
  9. Print off a diagram of the valve train . Remove the valve cover , rocker arm assermbly , take a pic and remove the o-ring . Replace the o-ring and reassemble . You can remove the spark plugs to make the valve adjustment easier . There are steps on this forum to help w/valve adjustment .
  10. If I remember correctly , the problem is an o-ring under the rocker arm assembly that is bad . You will have to look at a parts breakdown or call a good dealer for help with parts . Get enough to do both sides , valve cover gaskets & perform valve adjustments while you are there . Do the clearance to international specs.
  11. My bike had K&N pods when I purchased it . They sounded terrible & I hooked up the stock setup .
  12. Can you locate metric drill bits ? SnapOn has them and I'm sure machine shop supply houses or GOOD automotive supply houses will have them .
  13. Take the wire off ( w/the key on ) and the light should be off . If it is , remove the neutral switch and clean it w/contact cleaner . Then check it w/an ohm meter to see if you can detect when the switch is opened and closed . If this works reinstall the switch and put it all back together .
  14. Docc , Clean this up as much as possible with a wire bristle brush , the hubs and outer perimeter teeth also . PM me your mailing address and I will send you a dry film graphite spray to apply to the exposed surfaces .
  15. Docc , were you able to get anywhere contacting Grimeca directly ?
  16. Don't .
  17. I assume Grimeca is the OEM supplier to Guzzi for the V11 ? Has anyone contacted Grimeca for replacement or NOS parts for the slave cylinder ?
  18. The view from from Carbondale , Il to Hopkinsville , Ky is alleged to be perfect viewing for this . My hometown ( Barlow ) is to be the first town in Ky to see this event . A lot of businesses in the tri-state area are closing for this experience and a LOT of visitors are expected .Ozzy ( the Ozzy ) is going to be @ Walker's Bluff Winery , Carterville , east of Carbondale . BYOB .Bring Your Own Bats . I will be working that day . Bah , humbug !
  19. When you are done , you will want rod "b" to be loose and I mean a little loose in it's at rest position .
  20. Good deal ....
  21. I hate to tell ya , the only thing that is compatible with brake rubber is brake fluid , DOT 5 silicone brake fluid , brake assembly fluid , water , isopropyl alcohol and a few other things I don't know about . Petroleum products are off the list . I am not a good influence , put it together and see what happens. Use some brake assembly fluid from a auto parts store when you reassemble .
  22. Docc , take a look at what this seal is compatible with . It lists mineral oil and a lot of others sans brake fluid . You will HAVE to use DOT 5 silicone fluid if you do . How bad is the original seal ?
  23. Don't be surprised if it is the shift lever pivot bolt . Loosen the jam nut and back the pivot bolt out two turns and see if you can move the shifter. if so , remove the jam nut then the bolt . Lubricate everything and reassemble .
  24. If you want to , you can use Scotch-Brite to smooth up the surface . p.s. use the most fine pad you can get . Clean up w/Brake-Kleen , reassemble with brake assembly fluid and you will be good.
