  1. I place the worm gear part of the clamp against something where it will not turn CCW any .
  2. Can you post a pic of the fuel line fitting ?
  3. First , verify you have oil pressure with the engine running .Connect an ohmmeter to the switch after disconnecting the wire to the unit. If there is a change in continuity from KOEO to KOER your switch is good. If so proceed to the next step. With the key on is the light on ? Disconnect the wire at the oil pressure switch . If there is a change , touch the wire to a good known ground. If there is a change with this action you can decide if the switch is bad or not or if the light is inoperative .
  4. You had a dealership ?
  5. Do or do not , there is no try.
  6. Go with the Heli-Coil kit. Just do it properly and you will not have any troubles .
  7. I don't know if Timesert offers a thread repair for this drain plug. You will have to measure your drain plug thread pitch and see . Tmesert is the best thread repair kit available .
  8. The VIN decoding as I remember is .... 1st character is the Country of origin. 2nd & 3rd character is the Manufacturer's I.D. 4th -8th is Brand & misc.info w/the last character being the engine.9th is a verification code 10th character is the year . 11th character is the plant . 12th-17th is the Serial number.
  9. There was a company a few years ago ( Air Dog Diesel Fuel System ) that sold some high tech fuel pump / filtration device that aligned molecules , removed excess air molecules , ionized ( whatever needed ionizing )something or stratified something else . I think it was a It was about $1000 USD . JC Whitney or Ron Popeil wouldn't' try to pawn this junk off on anyone. The only thing these things do is remove $$$ from your checking account.
  10. The interpretation is difficult . Can you explain in detail what your problem(s) is you are having ? Is it the V11 bike or another ?
  11. Now you're talkin' right !
  12. Lucky Phil's ultrasonic cleaner is the only way to go .

  14. Uhhh , you will have to decide for yourself .....
  15. Do you think insurance companies watch YouTube ?
  16. Most vehicles ( I use this term loosely ) show a build / production date 00/00 or 00/0000 . The fist characters distinguish the mo .The remaining characters distinguish the year. This may or may not be the year model. It is at least a reference point. Most automobiles start producing the next model yr around Aug. or Sept. I am sure motorcycles use this same "rule" . This is a rule , not a law . Look at the VIN plate on your car or truck . It is the easiest to inspect and you will get familiar with this.
  17. Hmmmm.
  18. You will need to look at some service info to see what is the specific fuel pressure .
  19. Not sure of the build date but it's listed as a 2001. What is the build date ?
  20. Yes . IDK if MG has a diagram of indexing piston rings. Your piston pin will be 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock looking down at the piston . You do not want ring gaps in or around this part of the piston pin area. You will probably want the top 2 compression rings at least 90 degrees from each other .Maybe 10 o'clock & 4 o'clock I can't tell if the oil wiper ring is a 1 or 3 piece device . If it is 1 piece you want it 120 degrees from the compression rings . 3 piece oil wiper rings , you will want the expander and the wipers 120 degrees . Do some investigating or some others can give input .
  21. #1 all fuel systems that are not gravity feed , require pressured fuel to reach the fuel mixing device. The fuel supply requires pressure & volume . All systems have operating specs. for this . a. clogged fuel filters will cause a lowered fuel pressure / volume condition . b. fuel pressure / volume is critical for fuel injected powerplants . c on some fuel injected vehicles a 2 psi below specs will cause a no-start condition . #2 the ecm does not (in this case ) know what the actual fuel pressure is. It assumes it is in operating range. #3 I do not know if any factory sensors on the V11 are wide band O2 sensors or not . #4 most fuel pressure regulators have this port that is open to atmosphere , connected to manifold vacuum . This will lower or raise fuel pressure to work with a change in throttle . I do not know why MG does not use this . To emry , what is aDI unit ?
  22. After you get through & ready to reassemble , make sure you index the piston ring end gap correctly !
  23. The fuel pressure is important . The ecm is "mapped" for this pressure for the correct spray pattern , volume , etc. The computer decides the pulse width of the injector(s) .
  24. I had just gotten out of the hospital from a heart operation , was going to a BMW rally in Tn. and dropped my K100 in a gas station driveway after missing a turn .I was loaded down with enough junk for 4 days. I had to pick this thing up wondering if my chest would rip open or all this new junk they put in my heart would bust loose. The embarrassment always is heavier than the bike .
