buying: When I go look at something , if it looks good I buy it . selling: I have had some buyers want bunch of pics and then pick it apart pointing out flaws . They didn't mention wanting "still in the box condition" unmolested stuff. Now that I am older , my diplomacy is in short supply.

Hmmm. I thought those personalities only existed in The USA . AFA the personality "CRANKSHAFT" . a friend of mine was on the selling side of the counter and a customer was telling him "I'm gonna tell everyone about you" to which Mike immediately came back with " Fine , anyone stupid enough that would listen to you , I don't want their business" .

Send plenty of pics !

Hmmm. this question is gonna have little or a lot of response. This answer can be divided into bikes / cars . Me , i do not mix viscosity , brands , nothing. I run premium quality oils and , if my memory cooperates , oil change intervals. 5w20 and 5w30 I think if you are in a bind , you can mix to "get you where you are going" . Now . I think Toyota has 0w15 oil. This has to be about like kerosene !

The Tech-session will be "whatever needs fixin". -
The magnetic plug sampling seems to be the most important sample method I can think of . You get to turn in the metal particles (for evaluating) that were / are floating around . I had a boss that diagnosed a knock in a D-6 dozer from an oil sample . Pretty slick . I have not forgotten that . The upper rod bushing had failed was his diagnosis and he was right . It had common rail FI and they were able to disable each cylinder to know which piston was down. I have worked at some places where there were some incredible sampling procedures . Rexroth had the best info and practices on sampling procedure . If it is done correctly , it is a methodical procedure . For those who have done this know , new oil is just as dirty as old oil. It just doesn't have the same junk in it . For the average Joe , looking at an evaluation sheet may be "for entertainment purposes only" .

That seems to be the bad place and a good spot to start . Neither one of my bikes have an electrical problem (YET) and I sure don't want to F it up by working on them .

Where was this pic taken ?

You got me ? I found it out when I was making my own linkage extender . I couldn't understand why I was turning the shaft and getting nowhere . Somewhere out in the shop I've got the part #s and the place I bought the stuff. If anyone wants it I will post it.

You NEED this on your bike . I once said "it goes from shifting like a H Farmall to a Japanese liter bike . The stock linkage on the V11 has r.h. threads on both rod ends so you cannot adjust the shift linkage up or down . I've got some part #s for a l.h. thread rod end and rod to make a adjustable linkage !

Well , while you're bragging , give us a rundown. There is not much stock I see on the bike .

Our vices, er: "vises"

That anvil had better be the last thing to go . It looks like it has seen a lot of wear . There is an old fart in Paducah living close to where my wife's cousin lived and I ws working on her Snapper mower . I spied an anvil across the alley and spent 3 hours at his house getting an education on anvils , their history and enough info to last a lifetime ! We all have a telephone daddy bought 3 or 4 of a long X ago. The old people used to tear the phones apart and get the crank generator out of , stick wires in the ground , crank on it and force the worms out of the ground to go fishing with . I need to learn how to get pics off my phone to post on this forum ! Do you think p6x would like to get in on this erratic conversation ? -

I have one of the anvils that came from the Blacksmith shop in Barlow , Ky. It used to have a mini anvil that went into the square hole at the end. A Civil War reenactor explained this mini anvil and it's purpose . I think he called it a "bic" or something similar. The largest vise I have ever seen is at TVA "Shawnee Steam Plant" close by . I can assure you two strongmen would look at that thing and say "no way"! It would take a tractor & a boom pole to pick this up. -

Is this vise called John Holmes ? -
Well , Studebaker had supreme quality control . They had a quality product but they moved in baby steps AFA styling was concerned. These internet performance companies market anything that will increase HP , cure ED and give you the hair of Samson .

I hear ya . These fuses are the 2nd to the largest blade fuses in production . The largest fuses would be insane to adapt into a new fuse block. IDK how much a temp change is "ok" on a fuse panel . The current is going through that one sliver of "fuse" , so this should be the reason for the temp change .

If your buddy has any more of those he wants to part with , my birthday is the 11th of this month !

OMG ! Can you imagine these MXers of 2024 riding a BSA dirt bike from 1970ish . Dry weight of 450lbs and 3" of suspension travel (dropped from 50') w/Girling rears and IDK what oil leak was on the front.

My Godfather was going to give me his collection , property , everything (60+ bikes) with 4 Ducatis including a 250 Diana Mk 3 . He was vamped by this evil succubus from Alabama , Arkansas or somewhere . She took him south , took his life and everything he had . The one thing I remember about the 60s Ducatis , you didn't try to kickstart one unless you had Lineman's boots on .

Did you see Alice up there ?

IDK how pricey these caliper kits & pistons are for these Brembos are . Price them so you will be prepared .
