  1. Yes. an analog ( old timey with a needle ) meter is better to do this with. It will put a load on the circuit whereas a DVOM will not .
  2. Moto Guzzi owners are for the most part a professional in some form or another. they can carry on a conversation about some portion of their bike with intelligence and reverence and will work on / fixit themselves . No ''bulldozers" , they either know or will tell you they don't know . This is a good place to be. What I am saying....."Buy it " !
  3. Disconnect the connector from the neutral switch . Make sure the bike is in neutral . Put the bike in !st gear then shift up to neutral. Turn the key on. Ground the wire to see if the N light comes on. If it does , turn the key off . Take a good known test light and attach the alligator clip to B+ . Touch the probe to the metal protruding from the switch. If it lights the switch is good. If not , move the shift selector to see if it does ever light up. If these check o.k. , look at the wiring plug that pushes onto the switch . This may be enlarged and needs to be crimped just a little to get a better connection .
  4. Have you contacted Ram to see if they will sell directly to you ? www.ramclutches.com
  5. Mine was perfect . I loved it ........sold it to buy another one but the deal fell through .
  6. The K-bike was supposed to be THE ultimate replacement for the boxer.....but , there was an uprising , the K was killed and the Oil-head became the replacement.
  7. The affect of petroleum or petroleum distillates on hydraulic brake rubber parts is not good. They will swell .
  8. By the time you get back , the engine oil will destroy the rubber brake part the most , the WD-40 I think will come in second , continuous Brake- Kleen third & the brake fluid last .
  9. ThanX for the input Docc !
  10. I see a Model # 12248 that looks like it might be better for $139.00 . Look at all of them. You might find something at a battery store , motorcycle dealer or automotive parts store too.
  11. I have read this "trick" that involves taking a conventional battery , hooking jumper cables to the AGM or gel cell battery . Allow an hour for them to stabilize , then hook up your battery charger . Turn it to the 2a rate and allow it to charge overnight.
  12. Octane is an additive to prevent pre ignition of the fuel . As long as you are not experiencing spark knock you will be good.
  13. You need to check with your insurance agent about being uninsured . IF , someone steals your vehicle , has a wreck and does property damage the vehicle owner is the responsible party. Why ? Thieves do not usually carry insurance on vehicles they steal and usually have no personal property or a task force of lawyers to help them .
  14. Tell us more about the rear brake mods ?
  15. My toy is a 2004 XC90 T6 AWD 113k. mi. replete with all the need$ and quirk$ of a Volvo
  16. Keep in mind , there will come the day when ( you , motorcycle & stand fall to the ground ) you will say the F word loud enough everyone in a 10 mile radius will know what happened .
  17. You need to do something about your clock .
  18. I have a factory stand and it is an event when I go to put this up ! I have installed a wheel on the handle to where I can move the bike around. Be aware it is difficult to not scratch sacred areas on your bike !
  19. Docc , Footgoose is talking about air getting into the oil intake portion of the lubrication system. Bad for business ! My understanding of the term " cavitaion " is different . Google cavitation to see what you come up with.
  20. You need to leave them alone . What will happen if you remove and inspect these and you find nothing wrong ? You reassemble and do something wrong , these rod bolts are delicate and have been suspect to fail.
  21. Pretty much .........
  22. Jaap , I see a new forum brewing .....
  23. Oh no ! I guess it's confession time . I have a 2004 XC 90 6 cyl. 113k miles. A money pit but I love it.
