  1. you could use a dental pick to remove the paint or remove one screw and go get replacements. Change them one at a time to keep the TPS in it's proper place. Docc, I like the reason for the paint code!
  2. This threaded pushrod is used to set a clearance between the pushrod and piston. If there is not any clearance or it it is screwed in , the clutch lever will work as a jack and keep fluid pressure against the slave cylinder. The more you worked the clutch lever, the farther the clutch slave cylinder would extend (and remain extended) causing the clutch to slip. I would turn this screw in till all slack is removed and back it off 3/4 turn. After looking at the goo everywhere, I would use BrakeKleen on everything and then spray a dri-film-graphite spray on everything to keep it lubricated.
  3. My tail section got the CF treatment by these fellows.........WOW http://www.uniquehydrographics.com/ If you send him the RM decals he will apply them for you..........
  4. That is FUNNY !

Are the clip-ons mounted above or below the triple clamps ?
  6. Just for your own benefit, shut the fuel off in winter time. This will keep the valve from freezing up.............. for when you DO need to shut off the fuel !
  7. I wire brushed the corrosion and painted them with a matte black automotive paint.........turned out perfect !
  8. Uhhhhh.........She's Romanian. If she came with the car, they could NOT produce enough (Abarths) of them. http://whoisthathota...in-the-fiat-500
  9. OK My shock is exactly like yours so it is a Sachs. I will get a friend over this evening to check the sag. A good Penske or Ohlins is completely out of the question as I have three bikes, I'm on Soc sec, this is the bike I use the least, and I work part time just to keep these in shape. The thing that concerns me right now is that in reading some previous posts on this subject there seems to be a problem with availability on seals for this shock. Is that still true or was that a situation from a couple of years ago? BTW, how do you like the Fiat ? Do you drive in-house like Charlie Sheen ?
  10. I don't know, but it seems Docc was right on the money if you read GScott's last post. mea culpa ! I should read all posts before blabbing....
  11. One of my best friends (RIP) learned to fly a rotor aircraft and said it kept him "BUSY"! You cannot goof off or do anything but concentrate on controlling the aircraft.
  12. GScott stated he felt exhaust or some kind of gases leaking beneath the spark plug area....how does anyone come to the conclusion it is the intake air boot ?
  13. This may sound hokey-pokey....hlod a lighted candle around the mating surfaces of the head/cylinder while the engine is running. You will find out VERY quick that it indeed is the head gasket leaking.
  14. The VIN should be 17 characters with the 10th character ( this is true in automobiles) designating the year of manufacture. I think the 2000 model vehicles will have a 0 in this slot. A 2001 will have a 1, etc. This has been true for the 1st decade of 2000. You could Google VIN decoding to verify this .
  15. That is why I was making it as silly as possible........
  16. I don't know much about it & apologies if I misunderstand, but if you simply plumb the rear m/c up to one front + rear disc, & leave single front disc on normal front m/c, won't your m/c:piston ratios will be all wrong? KB So ? Don't let that trivial stuff get in the way of an idea ! I guess you could hook up the integral brake to the front brake lever and the foot brake lever to the single front brake caliper.
  17. Uh.................The Scura is so hot with the matte black paint. What is not hot, is the LaBrea Tar Pit coating on the engine block.
  18. Requiescat in pace
  19. You appear intent on doing this..........
  20. Loosen the pivot bolt jam nut (on the inside of the frame) one turn. Loosen the pivot bolt one turn. Tighten the pivot bolt one turn. If the shifter follows the r.h. rotation of the bolt, the pivot bolt and shift lever have rusted together. Remove the bolt and shift lever to clean and lubricate WELL before reassembly.
  21. Do not waste your time doing this..........I don't think you will see any benefit from this.
  22. Uhhhhh, that's one of those events you keep to yourself !
  23. I have some brake parts that I purchased from eBay............do you need a rear brake hose ? Gene
  24. I use Beringer cast iron disks on my 1999 V11 Sport and Beringer Aerotec Radial MC for brakes and clutch with Brembo carbon-ceramic (organic) pads. Far superior to OEM Brembo in terms of efficiency and feeling. Beringer Web Site Braking is powerful, even using only 2 fingers. Can you post pics?
