  1. I use Beringer cast iron disks on my 1999 V11 Sport and Beringer Aerotec Radial MC for brakes and clutch with Brembo carbon-ceramic (organic) pads. Far superior to OEM Brembo in terms of efficiency and feeling. Beringer Web Site Braking is powerful, even using only 2 fingers. Can you post pics?
  2. Yes......You go in the opposite direction e.g. "backing off the throttle" , etc........ 99% of all fasteners are r.h. thread...when you unscrew a fastener, you back off from it's last positon.....
  3. That wheel / caliper position makes the front end a LeMans Mk 3 ? Probably so...........it doesn't have that f**ked up side stand like the Mk IV........
  4. Have a good trip........I have training all week and can't skip out on it ! UGH
  5. Too beautiful to touch !
  6. That's why I use synthetic oil............
  7. A ground wire is equally important as a positive wire..... As corrosive as the junk that is applied to road surfaces in the winter now the connector he talked about using is the best. The road "salt" used now can destroy a 22 ga wire in 3 yrs that has the insulation cut back or opened up.
  8. You use red Loctite when you plan on NEVER removing that fastener again.
  9. Ok....thank you.
  10. Kiwi, Could diodes be added to the two remaining legs of the stator to make them work in the charging system ? Is it stated anywhere if this a Y or Delta wound stator? Just curious.......
  11. I use shakeproof (star) washers on any ground connection..... After many bad experiences I use them EVERY time.
  12. Run your ground up to one of the ignition coil mounting bracket nuts located above the oil cooler.
  13. That's the difference in years.........I do not have access to a 2000 yr wiring diagram..............
  14. Do not twist and tape ANY connections...............Use butt connectors or butt connectors w/ spade or bullet terminals... According to my 2003 wiring diagram, fues #6 powers the ign. coils, fuel injectors, fuel pump & dash warning lamp...2000 might be different ?
  15. Fuel pump relay ?
  16. Make sure you clean the shaft surface with a Scotch-Brite pad and clean with BrakeKleen before reinstalling the sea.lDo use a liberal amount of grease on the seal lip surface when you reinstall................
  17. I have bar end mirrors on my bike w/no vibration........ Be sure to reinstall the weights on the ends.......e.g.I forgot to n will do that some time this year.
  18. I sync the throttle bodies by; (1) disconnect the linkage connecting the 2 throttle bodies. (2) make sure throttle kicker is backed off to not affect anything. (3) back throttle plate screws out completely. (4) put a .002" feeler gauge between adj. screw & contact point on lever. Turn screw in til it touches and has good tension on the feeler gauge. (5) remove feeler gauge and turn screw in one turn. (6) repeat process to other throttle body. (7)put a .010" feeler gauge between the adj screw and the stop on the l.h.side throttle body and a .008" feeler gauge on the r.h. side throttle body. (8) connect the linkage to the two throttle bodies. (9) tighten (you may have to lengthen the rod before doing this)the plastic knob until the r.h. side feeler gauge falls out of position. This operation will require plenty of hands. Think about what is going on to understand what you are doing. This will have the throttle plates synchronised. (10) your warm idle speed is adjusted with the idle screw of the l.h.side screw. The airflow screw on each throttle body is a trim or balance adjustment. You want them to be turned in or out an equal amount before you start balancing them. I think my TPS is around 0.450v at idle speed ?
  19. The sad thing Linda (now) is as big as a sow............
  20. You should be sure to remind people to use the propane torch not lit.........
  21. I was planning on purchasing an Arai helmet til the vendor told me to try ALL brands to see what fit me. The Shoei model I purchased fit me the best.............Unless you are buying an exact replacement, you should go to a shop that will allow you to try them on.
  22. Check the shift pivot bolt FIRST thing. The shift lever will rust to the bolt and cause the shifter to stick in the down position. There is a jam nut you must loosen/remove before you remove the shift lever pivot bolt.
  23. The rotors on my 87 SE are cast iron. They rust with ANY moistture in the air. They will bring your bike to a halt !!! I will probably get some for the V11..........
  24. MPH Cycles or MotoInternational shouls stock them.........Purchase plenty of gaskets , extra filters , etc.
  25. People use too much sealers when applying to mating surfaces........ Use just enough to where it seeps out the sides (edges) of the mating surfaces.
