  1. You would have to understand the need for the alignment.......... Google it for a thorough understanding..........
  2. I am thinking you need to stake the insert with a punch. Take a tap & chase the threads where the screw will go in w/o binding.
  3. A "near death experience" ........... Yes.
  4. Do replace both of them.
  5. You need to find a PowerCommander dealer/installer that can use a laptop to "adjust" the map a bit !
  6. Are you running PREMIUM fuel ? If not, use it. I don't care how much it costs, use it ! Use fuel with the least alchohol content and do not use convenience store fuel either. Name brand only !
  7. If you are not sure, concentrate on ONE cylinder at a time. One revolution @ TDC will have the exhaust valve closing while the intake valve is opening. Rotate the crankshaft one revolution until that cylinder is @ TDC again. This will give you the position you want to adjust the valves on that particular cylinder. After adjusting the valves on that side, go to the other side and repeat the procedure. Good luck.
  8. You will have to obtain the motorcycles for free to in order to make a profit on the amount of charges/expenses that will pile up on you before you sell each bike.
  9. 605 euro. Then frieght. I did the currency convertor y/day. $795 I think...........
  10. Why does Agostini always sell such beauty ?
  11. Reinstall it to it's original location. Too many people think they know something they don't.
  12. Absolute top dead center is not critical......Being within 25 degrees or so is fine. Savagehenry's advice is as plain and simple as it can get.
  13. The picture Slav has indicates trouble with the lifter foot (the part that rides against the cam lobe). This pitting is the beginning of failure. When you see this it is time for a new cam and all lifters ! Anyone who removes the lifters and does NOT reinstall them in the same bores will have failure for sure. By the way. This convex of the lifter foot is so small you can't see it.
  14. I saw a Scura in Louisville a few years ago. Looked great except for the paint blistering (just like mine)on the engine block.. Do all Scura models do this ?
  15. WOW !
  16. I had to do a similar modification the other day on a Sullair air compressor w/a John Deere powerlant. The solenoid would click, but it would NOT start. I installed a relay in the circuit where the starter button energized the relay instead of engaging the solenoid. The B+ went directly from the battery to the relay to the solenoid. With this (MG) mod you are taking the ign. switch and 4 connectors out of circuit. This mod KiwiRoy is suggesting should fix your problem.
  17. Thanks !
  18. What's the difference between the Scura & Scura R ?
  19. If he put his dentures in..................... of course !
  20. Does your bike have the 16" front wheel ? If you find some grips that take away from the harshness let me know! BTW........ the sidestand is an adventure, so watch it. I use the centerstand ALL the time.
  21. For what it's worth; I use shakeproof (star) washers on ALL electrical ground connections..
  22. That picture tells me more than I want to think !
  23. This feeling will not wane either !
  24. I'd like to try something with a fairing just to see what difference some level of comfort, ease through the air and protection from weather makes. I've never tried anything with a fairing before at all, apart from the pressed-frame Yamaha 80 that was my first bike and had leg shields! Oh and the Scura's little bikini fairing. I'd also like to pull my V11 apart. No, seriously. That tops my first............ a mini-bike with a 3 1/2 hp Briggs&Stratton engine.
  25. Kiwi, You are the MAN. To whom it may concern; be very careful when probing at the connector. If your probe is too lage it can expand the terminal and not allow it to make a good connection causing you LOTS of trouble. I prefer to use the pin type probes and go in at the wire side of the connector. If I remember correctly, you will want about .450v with Key On Engine Off at the b terminal of the tps.
