  1. Good enough
  2. Here's one for you to look into. Stein-Dinse has an aluminum tank on their site... I assume it fits the V11 http://www.sd-tec.de...8cc15d96e320ff5
  3. I'm with Jaap............ Do you accept PayPal ?
  4. From what I hear arthritis is almost as painful as a bee sting
  5. I ordered about $300 worth of fork seals n bushings from Joe Eish to find out you take nothing for granted on these bikes...... On a good note he took them back w/no restocking fee. That is why I buy EVERYTHING I can from him !
  6. Short frame bikes ['99-'01] had the padded top & external fuel pump. Long frame bikes ['02+] had the smooth top & internal fuel pump. AFAIK, the tanks are all same length/fitment, just the frame in front of the tank mount was extended slightly [approx. 1"?], but you might want to consult a copy of Guzziology or contact MI for confirmation. If you've already got an external pump tank, it would be a minor chore to convert to the internal pump, but it eliminates the hot-start vapor lock problem. If you already have an internal pump tank, you won't want to convert to an external fuel pump, because you'll be creating problems for yourself. Don't be so sure about the info....... My bike has the external pump w/pad on top of tank and it is listed as a 2003 Sport model.
  7. I "think" around $750 USD.........
  8. Good luck.....It should be beautiful when you get it.
  9. You are replacing the tank because........? Who is going to make the new tank for you? You need to verify everything with the person fabricating the new tank as to the application...........
  10. The aluminum is not affected by alchohol or any types of fuel addatives. The stock plastic tanks were made to be compatible with the fuels at that time...
  11. A person needs to inspect the filter mating surface to make sure the old filter seal does not stick to the engine... I do this every time. After losing the oil and it spraying everywhere you will learn to do a visual to make sure you are screwing the filter to the block.
  12. Are these the same things as "Cow magnets"? I have seen (just about ) everything attached to fuel lines..... Aluminum foil wraps, cow magnets, clothes pins to name a few. Fuel addatives too. The most incredible was moth balls, not from moths but....well you know, the stinky things you put in closets...........
  13. You are lucky !
  14. If you do this, leave the tank unsealed to vent the fumes in the tank..............
  15. i like that...............
  16. Not to be a smart*** but, do you know how to use a test light and a wiring diagram? KiwiRoy has some good power and ground circuit diagrams here. Do you live int the U.S, U.K, Europe, etc.... If you want to have someone talk you through a quick test procedure someone (me) can talk and get a better understanding of the problem....... You stated I hope the bike was running when you parked it? Now you have no power?
  17. Please explain your ailment and we can take that into consideration whe giving you advice............ I have arthritis Do you know anything about treating arthritis with honey bee stings?
  18. Do you own or rent the equipment to do this? This looks like the way to go.........
  19. You did what ??????? with the dry ice.....
  20. Since oil pressure is somewhat important, you should gain access to an oil pressure gauge to find out exactly how much pressure the bike has.
  21. Please explain your ailment and we can take that into consideration whe giving you advice............
  22. To the best of my knowledge there are only 2 categories; with the external pump and with the internal pump. The external pump has a black rubber pad at the fuel filler cap. I think they are the same external dimensions though.
  23. How did you crash? Is this an insurance job or out of pocket ? Most bikes a wrecked from the front so SOMEONE parting out V11s should have a rear swingarm. p.s. you must have had some real winners repairing the bike if this got past them.
  24. Do use shakeproof washers on all connections to ensure a good circuit.
  25. Well, it started out lifting and ended up tapping.............
