  1. Memorize Dan's statement. Then bolt the part back on the bike..........
  2. Bend it slooooooowly with heat applied.
  3. Go ahead. What you are doing is o.k.
  4. The way you suppose, propose or guess is correct. The end with the smaller flat is use on the rocker arm because of the pivoting movement going on v the other end remaining on the cam folower (lifter) and doing not mucch besides rotating. When you assemble this and everything on an engine use an assembly lube to prevent a dry-start on engine parts. p.s. You have a good eye for noticing.
  5. Sanitary !
  6. Take one out of the other clamp, go to a Fastenal (or any other) store and get one. Stainless is best. Apply a dry film graphite spray or anti-sieze to the screw on installation.
  7. Oh yeah.... He could polarize things ! We keep up in e-mails. He is a very intelligent person who truly wants to help people with their motorcycles. Now, in the polical arena, he doesn't want you to have to guess how he feels. He is at one end of the spectrum and I am at the other. I respect his views and he does mine.
  8. I will never understand these acts of stupidity. Did the inanimate objects they destroyed cause the game losses ?
  9. I have willingly put $3k + in and on my bike. I can call it my "succubus" if I want. Come to think of it, maybe that is a better word.
  10. It is lso a hologram that says "money pit"... The v11 Sport ( or whatever your bike is) is a decal and the rectangular flag thing is a glued on plastic emblem. You should be able to find it or them here or a member can post a direction for you.... Good luck on your bike !
  11. Oh yeah.... UltraMan has nothing on you then. I picked up my LOADED K100rs in a parking lot driveway like it was a 10 speed bike while stealthily looking to see if anyone saw me tip it over.
  12. Everyone has dropped a bike at less than 10 mph. It hurts you pride more than anything. We were riding to Cape Girardeau,Mo. Sunday afternoon and saw someone get off at a complete stop. It looked hilarious because he looked like a cheerleader doing a cartwheel falling off the bike. We turned around and went back to check on him and he suffered no pain but a bruised ego.
  13. You need to check ALL fluid levels with the bike in the upright position.
  14. If your fuse f5 is the 30a fuse, you can flip the fuse block over and remove the wires going into that holder and inspect the wire quality. If it loks ok you can repair the tension quality of the connector. If not, then I would install a Maxi-fuse holder and 30 a fuse into the circuit. Look at KwiwRoy's diagrams and advice.
  15. You hope it was the plates to the car that hit your bike. I hope that you called the police n reported the hit n run!!!!!!!!!

  16. You can repair this with a Maxi-fuse connector and fuse to repair this circuit. The Maxi-fuse will do a better job because ALL of the charging current goes through this fuse. If you want to search the site for this repair , go ahead. By the way; the alternator output can be tested by disconnecting the bullet connectors and checking for a.c. output ( from the alternator side) with the engine running.
  17. Did anyone post that: you can test the alternator output by disconnecting the two yellow wires coming out of the alternator and start the bike, then connect a voltmeter to these two wires and it will read around 60-70v a.c. @ or around 2500 r.p.m. ? We are testing the alternator (or causing an electrical fire) to see if it is o.k. .
  18. Uhh....... No the regulator is above the alternator. The alternator is at the front of the engine behind a silver cover w/the Guzzi emblem. The regulator is between the horns. It is an aluminum item that looks like a big heat sink. If you want to talk and or ask ?s , my Verizon # is 270-841-1774 This goes for handitus too.
  19. If the relay/fuse swapping doesn't get you anywhere, post for any members in your area that can help or point you toward a reputable dealer/repair facility.
  20. What was the part # of the shock you bought ?
  21. That is because your charging system is NOT working.
  22. jesus,it took me about a week of concerted effort (with The Book) to solve rubik's cube, many, many years ago. scf We are going to keep my time a secret!!!!
  23. Find a brass or aluminum drift, shaft, pin or something of similar diameter and start driving it out from the threaded side. I use a dry film graphite spray and degrease the bolt and spray on the shaft (bolt) upon reassembly.
