  1. What was broken ?
  2. Maybe you should post this procedure on the internet.
  3. An attractive blonde from Cork , Ireland arrived at the casino. She seemed a little intoxicated and bet twenty-thousand Euros on a single roll of the dice. She said, 'I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude'. With that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and with an Irish brogue yelled, 'Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!' As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up and down and squealed...'YES! YES! I WON, I WON!' She hugged each of the dealers and then picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed. The dealers stared at each other dumbfounded. Finally, one of them asked, 'What did she roll?' The other answered, 'I don't know - I thought you were watching.' MORAL OF THE STORY - Not all Irish are drunks, & Not all blondes are dumb
  4. Why not Google "motorcycle cable repairs" ? There is an old motorcycle shop close to me that repairs any type of cable........
  5. Roy, I am glad you are a member.
  6. They will total the bike for liability reasons. There are two different Marzocchi fork designs. You will have to purchase Marzocchi forks or Ohlins forks and just about everything is exclusive to each system. Unless you can access this stuff used you are in for a big price tag on getting this thing running.
  7. Why not make it Port and Starboard side ?
  8. Huh ?
  9. http://www.swva.net/jkenny/
  10. I hope that is the correct address !
  11. Google Joe Kenny, he has a website that offers all kind of machined parts for M/G bikes. They are home made and his workmanship is PERFECT. His address is www.swva.net/kenny/
  12. How many times has the sump been off since this bike had the original warranty work (if you want to call it that) was performed ? What was replaced when this was done ? I remember you stated the idiots didn't even want to pull the pan & clean it. True ?
  13. Shaun, The ALDL connector is a 3 wire plug with blue, black & brown wires. Can you tug on the 4 wire connector to see where it goes in the wiring harness ? I have looked and cannot find a 4 wire connector with your combination of wires. If EVERYTHING works, ride it.
  14. You must have had some real dumbasses messing with your bike. Mine is a 2003 with an external pump so I don't know the EVAP or emission setup on your bike. I will look at some manuals to see if there is anything in them. All jokes aside, are you capable of R&R of this tank ? The fuel pump module will have to come out (uh, after the tank removal and removing the fuel) for you to understand which hose goes where...
  15. I will look at a wiring diagram n see. what are the colors (red/blk stripe) n sequence on the connector?
  16. Take the cover back off & check your work.
  17. Use the Ford dielectric greas liberally filing the ribs of the plug boot. This will keep out ALL moisture intrusion and allow you to pull the boots off easy the next time. You can find a variation at any auto parts store or on line.
  18. Hi Gene, I have used ACF 50 to combat the corrosion and to lubricate, but in that environment, the rust still seems to thrive. I suppose that the rust had already gotten hold in the early days, prior to lubrication. Perhaps Guzzi should apply some at the factory? NO company applies anything that costs money. It is a matter of learning what should have been done for the next time. I don't know if the spark plug tubes aer removable so they can be replaced or repainted. What is ACF 50 ?
  19. No scientific reasons whatsoever. The stoplamp switch is actuated by hydraulic pressure. No adjustments to make, no dirty contacts to mess up the switch operation and less parts to use during assembly. This entire brake assembly probably comes from Brembo and all this is installed on the bike....
  20. I don't know if Ford sells this in Europe or not but here in the U.S. they market a silicone grease for brake calipers & dielectric applications. In your case you would want to give it a liberal amount to where the spark plug wire is sticking to the bore of the tube and in the cavity that goes onto the spark plug end. This wil prevent water intrusion and make the boot easy to remove the next time.
  21. This looks like a good setup. I would solder the connections instead of terminals...........
  22. You would have to have a signal generator mounting into the trans. where the speedo cable adapter WAS. Then you would have to calibrate it to the electronic speedometer. I don't know if anyone manufactures (signal generator) something like this. There are companies that sell digital speedos that might have something that will work. There are digital speedos for bicycles but these are not really compatable with motorcycles. RFI or something from the electrical system.
  23. Tom, I wish I knew it was that much. I have some things I bought off eBay & it was in the box of parts. I would have sent it to you. Sorry. The automotive part to replace it would have to be for a foriegn car, probably pre 1970s. I don't remember the last time I saw a stop lamp switch that was hydraulic in it's operation.
  24. No Docc, the bike came with the crummy finish on the pipes !
