  1. You're o.k. For safety's sake , change the gearbox oil again in 100 mi.
  2. It is rumoerd that The H-D black w/krinkle finish is the paint to use. HTH
  3. Do I have a choice? I'll taks option "d" none of the above.................
  4. Disconnect the shift linkage from the shift lever. Move the lever up and down.If it will not fall after raising the lever by hand. If it is not free, remove the pivot bolt and lubricate the bushin the bolt goes through. If it( shift lever) moves freely, suspect something inside the shifter housing. p.s. the shift lever bolt nut is a jam nut. The frame is threaded where the shift lever bolt goes through. My bike sat for 4 weeks waiting on a shift spring to find the shift lever pivot was sticking.

    Buell

A good animal or bad animal ?

    Buell

I have ridden both Buell and H-D. THERE IS NO COMPARISON !
  7. The "Donner Party". Probably the worst documented event in U.S. history. I watched a documentary about this 20 yrs. ago on PBS. Every 5 min. I thought it couldn't get any worse but it did! Everyone needs to read or watch something about this tragedy. You will stop complaining about your daily discomforts.
  8. When you say "pinning" I hope you mean "pinging" or spark knock. You had the dome of the pistons ceramic coated, how is this process performed?

    Which V11?

Get one of these models with bars and be done with it.
  10. You need to look under the plastic of these new Beemers. It looks like it was in a car crusher. There is NO space whatsoever. I don't think you could run a 22 ga. wire down the frame of these. Don't forget about the rear axle that will not stay together. Add to all that , the ugliest looking bikes being produced.
  11. I saw your bike on eBay. Sorry to hear about losing your job. What did you do? Maybe someone in our group can help!
  12. You could leave them with me! I would take good care of them for you.
  13. A bargain like this would warrant keeping both!
  14. It is likely the flasher unit. It is located at the rear outer edge of the relays(on the r.h.side of the bike) beneath the seat. It can be obtained at any automotive parts store. Take the old one with you, it probably has 552 stamped on the top.
  15. Your last sentence tells us you are no dummy. Google PowerCommander and look for a dealer/service center and go with the service center. They should be able to tweak the "map" to take care of the mods done to your bike.
  16. Maybe you can disassemble and powder coat or anodize the aluminum parts. Look on eBay for Oberon fuel caps. These are threaded on caps. Good looking units,I have one on my bike. I don't have to fiddle with unlocking the cap to refuel.
  17. Dear Nekkid V, Read the above comment 3 times and DO IT!
  18. You time for can install these parts if you want. If there are any side effects, it will be time for a PC (PowerCommander) or some such device to adjust for lean or rich spots. The PC with a properly mapped program will get you wher you want to be. p.s. the Mistrals are alleged to be the best!
  19. DITTO !
  20. I assume you have found one?
  21. Don't get too far from home. Do you have a shop stand you can put the bike on? If so, remove the plugs, put the bike in gear and have someone rotate the rear wheel to see if you hear ANYTHING. Pull the clutch lever in slowly while your friend rotates the rear wheel. If something is loose you might hear it. I would also try it with the starter cranking it over (this might be too loud for you to hear anything) to mimic the engine running.
  22. I assume you immediately consummated things on the bike?
  23. Pick the bike upside down and shake it to see if anything falls out?
  24. The banjo as we know it is a hybrid of several musical instruments that negro slaves (in the US) had used in Africa.
