  1. Pierre, Is this the same setup you have inquired about in your other posts? If so , you stated you sent it (the tach) off to Palo Alto and they reported it OK. Are you SURE there is not a wiring problem in the harness?
  2. I still wonder what my (our) parents thought while we were playing this music? Probably the same thoughts I have listening to my kids music?
  3. And a 75mm wide black foam pad from the front of the tank to the filler cap.
  4. I don't think these guys are up to a 40th anniversary tour. They could not duplicate the power they "transmitted"? These people made The Who look like a church quartet with stage fright...
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E372fuerleM Do any of you remember this group? My cousins from Jackson, Mi. turned me on to them. This was a LONG time ago...I don't think they were ever on Ed Sullivan, David Cavett, Mike Douglas for obvious reasons...
  6. That's why I own an infra-red temp gun. I grew tired of screaming "F**K" after touching hot surfaces. When it warms up I will do this, Monday is supposed to start out in single digit temps. I don't think my bike will get out of the shop if it's that cold.
  7. Early 2003 had external pumps with later 2003 models having internal. Mine is a 2003 and it has an external pump. Why?
  8. My, how time flies? I realized my age when I read in ROLLING STONE a few issues back about the 20th anniversary of the Smashing Pumpkins. They had one song I cold tolerate and I forgot the title. It must be my age? I do remember this maxim "If it's too loud, you're too old". Give me The Who Live At Leeds, Allman Bros. at Fillmore, J Geils Band Full House or Grand Funk Live any day. I can't stop!!!!
  9. Aren't you a little old to be listening to this ?

  11. Hello, You have come to the best place (site) on the web. Gene
  12. Matt, Please look around and find a garage or bike shop that uses dye to find oil leaks. Any independent or dealership should be able to help. You will be amazed at how quick this will show up. I use this in my work and it is great. You want to install it in one oil only so you will know what is leaking.
  13. B.Y.O.P.? FWIW, I'm not looking for that activity...
  14. Is the music "Dueling Banjos" played during (or at any time) this intiation ceremony?
  15. I looked at your profile; you're 39 yrs.old. You STAY erect at that age!
  16. And you know C Berry is a St Louis native. I suppose if I could take my kids to see one R & R performance it would be Chuck Berry. Splitting hairs. Is Bo Diddly R&R or Blues ?
  17. Preston Petty sold this anti-dive setup for MX bikes in the late 70s. It was a linkage that hooked up to the top of the fork upper or steering head (I can't remember) and to the brake drum backing plate. When you applied the front brake the drum rotated and pushed up on the linkage extending the fork length and not allowing the weight of the bike to push down on the forks. The Earls design front forks* had this same characterisics as far as picking up on the front instead of pushing down when front brakes were applied. * I assume you are old enough to know what these are!
  18. When you apply the rear brake (with the caliper/rotor on one side) do you notice ANY pull ? It makes on difference as far as one rotor being on either side. I have thought about this and if the caliper is behind or in front of the forks with no real answers....
  19. EVERY circumstance is different. The only thing you can do is to maintain control of the bike until you have to let go. I watched a video where a rider got into a tankslapper from Hell. He was pitched UP in the air, held on the bars, dragged for a while, managed to hop back on and kept going.... a crash is at best 5 seconds long so you don't have "chess move" time to think much. It is mostly involuntary reaction time. The only advice I have is to control or influence your bike to a stop. When you give up and push off you give up control of being a rider and become a passenger. I asked this old rider about high speed headshake and how to ride out of it ? His response was..."don't get into it".
  20. I can't even get an erection at 10 below zero, why would I straddle a bike at that temp?
  21. BFG, If you composed this in less than 6 mos. you are a genius..
  22. Insane... This might not be the place to insert this style of riding but.... after watching the bridge scene I realized there was nothing more to watch of these videos. p.s. this video originally had "Fortress Europe" by Asian Dub Foundation WOW!! Now there is some wussy noise that sounds like Pat Matheny Group.
  23. The track surface was made with 2X4s laid with the 4" side upright. These were assembled (nailed) side by side and laid in an irregular length for rigidity. This lumber was not finished so you can imagine how rough the surface was.
  24. I thought CZ went out of business. Is that their new AWD motocross sport-utility vehicle?
  25. I do think I would try using my rear brake a little more until I got this problem resolved. My way of stopping is to use the rear brake with assistance from the front. From reading your first post, it appears you do all your stopping with the front. Is that true?
