  1. What do you mean 2 phase? All alternators have 3 pos.and neg.(diodes) rectifiers that send neg.pulses to gnd. and pos.pulses to the regulator. The answer is yes,to the best of my knowledge. you need to check terminal number colors and location to be sure also. I assume you don't have a MG dealer close?
  2. About the same as breast implants, with equal results!!!!!!!! The only difference is these wheels will leave you when you decide.
  3. How to synch. your throttle bodies. Prior to doing anything push the throttle to filter housing pipes back or remove the K&N filters to make things easier. #1 attach pull type springs to each throttle body (holding them shut) throttle lever. #2 disconnect the linkage rod on the right side then back out each throttle adjusting screw til you have a visible air gap and make sure the fast idle cam is NOT a factor on the rh side. there is a screw to get this lever out of the way. #2a if you want to set the tps to 150mv now is the time. #3 place a .002" feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and the part of the lever it touches. The screws should be adjusted til the feeler gauge has a drag holding it in place. #4 back the linkage nut off a few turns, then attach the rod back to the throttle body. The feeler gauges will fall out a few times in this process but don't worry it is fun. #5 now tighten the linkage rod til the rh feeler gauge falls out.Tighten the jam nut, remove all the trinkets. Reconnct air boots, filter, etc. #6 to each his own: min air screw 1/2 or 1 turn out from stop. Start engine and allow engine to warm-up. After engine is fully warm set idle speed with the l.h.idle screw. 2.5 mm allen wrench if the screw is not worn out. If so get a torx or standard size allen wrench to make adjustments. DO NOt touch r.h. side adjustment screw. #7 remember the fast idle cam needs it's adjustment. Push the lever to the the fast idle cam leaving a little clearance for idle speed adjustment. Now tighten this screw so you won't have to order a new one. p.s. if you want more advice and or confusion= 270-335-5374 after 3pm cst.
  4. ADDENDUM......The pin locations were for an 03 sport.yours might be different. Also contact guzzitech for a cd that contains parts, service, and a good rerun from a Speed Channel program about MG for about $25.
  5. After I got home I checked the t.p.s. voltage for idle speed voltage KOEO and got .980v. HTH..... gene
  6. I know how you feel. I adjusted mine to specs. with a popcorn popper result. Your best bet is to approach it this way: Make sure you are using a pin type probe to access the connector. probe pin #11 at the computer. You can ground the DVM to the case of the computer. These connections are much easier there than at the t.p.s. If the neutral light is NOT working get the side stand up or disable the switch. Nothing will work until this is done. With the key on you should get a voltage reading. If not check pins #1 or #18 for 5v reference. One of these is Vref and the other is gnd. Now I have just synched and balanced the throttle bodies, adjusted the t.p.s. on my bike and it ran so s****y i wanted to jump on this thing like Godzilla. I cranked the t.p.s. around to where there were equal holes showing in the adjustment slots and it ran GREAT. I am going to check it with a DVM tonight to see how far off it is from 0.545v. I have an appointment with a shop in Cape Girardeau,Mo 5-03 to check and or re-map the PowerCommander. I will let you know what happens.
  7. The EASIEST procedure you can ever use is : #1 Remove both valve covers and spark plugs. #2 If you can raise the (suspend) rear wheel and put the trans. in high gear. Use the rear wheel to rotate the engine to get one (either) cylinder to come up to TDC. This will be witnessed by the ex. valve closing and the int. valve opening. This is also known as valve overlap. #3 Go to the opposite side and adjust those valves. Rotate the rear wheel til the same thing happens to this cyl. overlap occurs. #4 Adjust the valves on the other side. Good luck! this is easier the more you do it.....
  8. Have a friend (make sure the key does NOT get lost) go in with the key only and see what happens?
  9. The 9/16" allen wrench i tried yesterday did not fit. After the bench grinder, it fit..... Get a 14mm socket on a 3/8" in drive from a tool vendor. You can keep it in your tool kit. Same goes for the other sizes. They are more compact that allen wrenches and you can use extensions, breaker bars, ratchets, etc. on the same tool.
  10. I recently put a set of the 714 on my Sport 1100, but haven't ridden it enough to know if I like 'em more or less than the 699. What brand are these ?
  11. What have you found to be the best grips for your bike? This is a subjective opinion but I want input from any one.
  12. Not to br geting of the subject of this bike youtube............"turbo busa", 275kph wheelies.i think GHOSTRIDER is the pilot on the bike and I believe this stuff is coming out of Sweden. Watching this stuff makes me wonder if this guy has ever seen speedboats "catch air" ?
  13. I just walked out in the shop and checked mine.

    Bucking?

Can you define "not registering anything" ? Are you using a DVM to check tps voltage?
  15. I know this might sound stupid. Is there a facility near you that repairs fuel injectors? If so, they have the capabilities to; test, flow rate, clean and diagnose these injectors. You have water clogging one of these. Gasoline will go through the injectors gut not water. HTH !
  16. Any sensor that has two wires in the connector does NOT need to be grounded. Air and coolant temp. sensors are temp.variable sensors. These sensors use two wires to transmit this info to the computer. The engine computer reads the resistance to comprehend the temp. of that particular sensor.
  17. Maybe you could engineer a BBQ grille on the front of the bike to heat the air so it will be less dense and you will get better mileage.

    Sad news

Duilio is (was) the patriarch of AGOSTINI in Mandello del Lario. The MG dealer in town. His daughter took over the day to day operation some time ago. I have purchased from them in the past. Nice people, every one! He was the "Rossi" of the 50s. When did he pass away?
  19. I'm glad to find that out about the incompatability of the two fluids!
  20. First of all you have to understand why this plate is made. It is designed to retard the flow of oil in the crankcase from side to side or front to back. It also is designed to catch oil droplets and return them to the pan to keep them out of the way of c/shaft rotation. Is it the best design? NO Is it the best so far? YES. A compliment to this would be hinged doors in four corners of the pick-up to allow the oil flow towards the pick-up and not away. Mr Roper is an inventor not a salesman. The Moto-Spezial oil pan looks good to me because it has a deep sump to catch the oil in a vee design. p.s. If you don't want it don't buy it..........
  21. You are a free moral agent. You have a choice to do what you want.
  22. Ratchet' was referring to the engine valve adjustment. That is the only thing I can see that would cause this "flutter". Before you go too far swap sides with the hoses to see if the problem remains on the same side.
  23. i hope you use "silicone" brake fluid. It is not too cheap or too easy to get. The main reasons are high boiling point (I hope you don't brake THAT hard) and conventional fluid is very hygroscopic. Hygroscopic means that it attracts and holds moisture. One less thing you want in the hydraulic system on your bike.
  24. If you are under 21, it will be wonderful!!!!!!!!
  25. I see some owners have installed Ohlins on their bikes ttat came with Marzocchi brand. Everyone that did is happier and about $1500.00 usd lighter. Can the Marzocchi forks be reworked to perform up to Ohlins quality? Also Showa forks are available at a bargain price. Can they be reworked to perfrom to Ohlin standards? Also do the Showa need all the adaptation mods the Ohlins do?
