  1. Don't worry , something else will let go and make you forget all about this problem
  2. There is no "cloth" woven into the rubber hose and it is typical non-Japanese quality rubber . It will deteriorate sitting on the shelf !
  3. No . it's factory perplex ! All you do is move the rod from one end to the other and no change, I got my stuff from Midwest Products and corrected it .
  4. The first time you go from 1st to 2nd you will not regret what you have done. Mine is homemade and my linkage just clears the frame . It is difficult to find N but all the other gears are just a click away. I installed a new linkage rod w/one rod end that has l.h. threads . I can set the shift lever to any place I want w/just a couple of turns and I am happy.
  5. I can't remember how easy the injector connector is to reach but I will try this today (provided I have my noid lights here and not at work) to verify this. Leave it to MG to do something like this ?
  6. Hmmmm. I will have to hook up a noid light to the injector harness and see what happens
  7. Energizing the fuel pump will not cycle the injectors .
  8. They are different . Look at them for 30 seconds and you will see the difference
  9. Hmmmm. Looking at the diagram and part #s . I would go to Fastenal and order them . e.g. m6x10mm dia. and 10mm length. The thread pitch I would suspect a regular pitch. I am going to guess these are a button head SS sockethead screw . It would be pricey to get this stuff from MG or a MG dealer. Maybe someone here can help you . All the V11s I am familiar with do not have fairings.
  10. The first things to check . Look at your cylinder head temp sensor connector and air temp sensor connector . If they are not connected or the sensors are bad the PCM will think these temperatures are COLD and your bike will get this low mileage result . Are you capable of testing with an electrical meter ? You can test these sensors to see if they are open (bad) or not.
  11. Trust me , there are NO unnecessary parts on a motorcycle . If M/G could have saved money and not included an oil cooler on a motorcycle , we would not be having this discussion right now .
  12. I regret being too stupid to share a video or anything eles about this event BUT fifty five years ago The Beatles performed their rooftop concert ! I am sure others will be able to post something to commemorate this event ?
  13. Hmmmmm . What a coincidence ! I was cleaning out e-mails from my hotmail account and wondered how you were doing , You had not posted in a while ! Good to hear from you ! I enjoyed EVERY second of this video and wondered what you are up to.
  14. I would want to look at this metal gasket to see if it has o-rings in the important places before I went w/o gaskets on this job. I think you are gonna be better w/gaskets in this situation.
  15. I am going out on a limb and say that might be a philosophical difference of opinion . Removing unburned fuel from that area and replacing it with another amount of unburned fuel . Only the hydrocarbons know. I am sure the Brits were thinking overall expense on every move they made on technology . Those mods were up to the rider in his shed and his imagination !
  16. I use this stuff : Hylomar , on the oil pan gaskets when assembling this . Just enough to cover both sides of the gasket . If it just comes out the side of the gasket when tightened , it is right. When you disassemble , the gasket does not stick and will come off in one piece w/o tearing.
  17. Buy two new spark plugs , I prefer NGK . Turn the ign to KOEO , key on engine off. Listen for the fuel pump to turn on . This will last for a second or two. MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE THIS ACTION TAKES PLACE. If this happens , go to the next step. If not swap relays and see what happens. I can't remember which position is the fuel pump relay , just look in your wiring diagram to verify. Remove the old plugs and inspect them... If they look good , install the new plugs. Spark plugs can look good but be bad . Turn the key on and again listen for the fuel pump to energize , then start the bike . Allow it to warm up and ride it to see if it is fixed.
  18. OOOH , Three Dog Night . Live at the forum . Chest Fever !
  19. Let us know how cold it gets ?
  20. Not to mention 40 bales of wheat straw covering the well house and vents around the house. This should stop any water freezing ! A trip to DGS for 3 upright electric heaters and it is a cool 50deg. in the house with D , the dog and cat in the bed.
  21. Today looks perfect ! 4degress F and 2'' of snow on the ground .... Plus our heat went out sometime Saturday night.
  22. I wonder if there is a bike assembly video of the M/G plant ?
  23. Pete , let me say , it makes it more difficult for the average tuner to @#!#$# up. I should have said the new setup is more difficult than the old one. Your last paragraph summed up everything. All the clucks around here want to install a plug n play device to get more ( of something ) on their vehicles and convince themselves something happened . I remember this young man had a SS 454 Chevy truck and purchased a special hi-performance PROM . I replaced it and he was convinced I did something wrong because " I can't tell any difference".
  24. These throttle bodies or throttle body assembly are/is similar to the V11 set-up. The difference being things are not as tamperproof on the V11. This setup Pete was using keeps the "tuner" from tampering with idle adjustment , throttle body synch. and apparently TPS . The idle speed is controlled by the IAC motor and it is controlled by the PCM. The v11 allows us to customize our bike to our "satisfaction or dissatisfaction !
