  1. You are correct . The more basic the paint job the better. That was the most beautiful modified paint job I have ever seen PERIOD
  2. Bonzo and Moon . Out of control and in control at the same time
  3. That girl is a FOX , but that paint job on that bike is righteous .
  4. MMMMMMmmmmmm. You will just have to go back and look at everything printed on the subject and see .
  5. Nowww , is this Spacely Space Sprockets, Inc. or Cogswell's Cogs ?
  6. Hmmm. I have read it to be "w/the throttle plate closed" . More input please ?
  7. You will be doing more than TPS adjustment. Throttle plate FULLY closed setting (on both assemblies , synchronizing these two throttle bodies then setting TPS to 157 mV at the throttle plates FULLY closed . After that is done , do not worry what happens w/the voltage. V at closed throttle and V at idle speed are not the same.
  8. With the first bike there is no electronics , hydraulics , mechanical or pneumatics degrees or aircraft maintenance background necessary. Just live in The Truman Show for a while , then bust out !
  9. For a first bike , get a Japanese bike . It is safe , no maintenance and no troubles . What you get is a "safe" bike. After you have it for a while then go to a more personal bike with character or a personality .
  10. Pacific Coast,,, is that the bike that is fully enclosed . I had a buddy , Howard Faun that owned one .
  11. Pete , only you know what you need to do ! Don't think you are the only 67yr old on this site , you're not. I don't want to learn anymore but I can not stand "not knowing" and I know you and everyone else on this site feels the same. That is one of the traits of a MG owner. As satchel Paige said " Don't look back , somethin' might be gainin' on you" and "Work like you don't need the money".
  12. Of course it will. We are at a possible crossroads of EVs & ICEs in the transportation industry. There can be natural gas , hydrogen power , etc. also. I don't want it to be mandated where you only get two choices or worse , one choice . An EV would be cool to have but I don't think I would want one as a primary vehicle.
  13. BUT , the end product is a zero emissions car,
  14. Back to the topic , cars, drivers were running over motorcyclists long before EVs and self driving novelties . The cell phone has done more harm than good on the road. Numb drivers don't help a thing .
  15. I have Akrapovic on my Suzuki and it is BAD TO THE BONE ! If they make them for the V11 , guess what I am getting?
  16. Welcome to Luddite Land .
  17. Mmmm . as in HAL 9000 ?
  18. IF I were going to use any system like this , it would be a secondary and not a primary device . I am old enough to understand , I am the responsible party , not a program or feature .
  19. I heard that name a looong time ago !
  20. The other day @ work , we started out on a Bourbon conversation that very quicky became "technical" ! Now , I need to survey the group . Was Woodford Reserve your fav or another ? Hairsplittin" is expected .
  21. Ha !
  22. NO ONE thinks of the fact : after the fuel filter . I was working on a Jeep Wagoneer , 360 V8 w/a factory Motorcraft 4BBL carb. It was constantly flooding from rust getting under the needle/seat. I replaced the fuel filter so often I could do it "goin' down the road". After about 3 mos. of this nonsense , I found the metal fuel line from the filter to carb was rusted inside causing ALL the trouble. Some things are never forgotten !
  23. I could NEVER figure out why one of my riding partners would ride next to the edge of the road and he could ride a 2x4 for 150 miles . I started following his habit to stay away from traffic . If I am in the left lane I don't want anyone on my righthand side. There have never been more factors to consider than there are now
  24. Tesla (for everyone's understanding) should send an e-mail to every Tesla owner stating that "this is NOT a robotic self thinking vehicle and the driver is fully responsible at all times" and make sure it is acknowledged. One life is not worth the stupidity of others.
  25. I haven't heard that term in a LOOOONG time !
