  1. IDK how pricey these caliper kits & pistons are for these Brembos are . Price them so you will be prepared .
  2. SO , that's where you've been !
  3. Let me guess ....
  4. ride height devices ?
  5. Anything in cast iron on the rotor ? And make sure you service that brake caliper . It is not difficult and you will be satisfied with the job.
  6. This happens , it will get back on course .
  7. He was crafty !
  8. That is completely different . No rule was broken in that "design".
  9. This may sound unfair . Anyone involved in the assembly of the powerplant , fuel system , whatever system that is not a legal component , the staff is banned for life . I think that might promote a NEW level of honesty . You don't mess with the factory , the rider or anyone else. Just replaceable employees. I don't think people are going to put their careers on the line for others .
  10. I'm not gonna argue with you .
  11. My experience with automotive sensors is to go OEM and stay away from franchise store sensors. You can get messed up fast. "But it can't be that , I just put a new one in there" !
  12. Well , he's officially been flushed out !
  13. That is how you make something into a Hot Topic !
  14. I've seen gear drives , straight-cut gears ,etc. for car engines . They sound righteous . Gear driven camshafts are the norm on diesel engines , The stuff they are peddling for the M/G powerplant ? NO WAY . It is a waste of time to discourage someone from using it , they know it is what they want , let them run it and find out or "you must notta put it in there correctly" .
  15. Didn't someone come up w/a crank sensor that goes in a Peugot or something like that ? These crankshaft sensors swelling and rupturing take place in the (domestic) automobile industry a lot ! GM had one in a FWD car that would fail , get stuck in the bore of the block . This would be so bad you would have to remove the oil pan and drive the sensor out of the engine block one segment at a time until you could install a new one. YUCK
  16. Hmmmm. I must not be mature enough......
  17. I do like this
  18. Install the new front tire BEFORE you take a high speed spin around these country roads thinking your steering head bearings are stuck (it smoothed out from 50-90) only to get home and look at your Fred Flintstone front tire and realize the belt is gone !
  19. Women can have high heels and men can have motorcycles .
  20. You will enjoy being able to know something for sure and look at a wiring diagram and know if it's upside down or not !
  21. The best use of the word philosophy was in Slingblade !
  22. Now , I am not smart enuf to look up history on this forum . I did Google "testing the charging system on a Moto Guzzi V11 Lemans" and got lots of hits and the all referred to this forum . Most conversations go WAY back and are interesting for sure . Docc , Roy and others were already at the head of the class on this subject. Two critical points are 1 make sure you are using a GOOD and fully charged battery. 2 make sure you have a ground wire running from the regulator to a close bolt on the engine block. Use shakeproof washers on both sides of the terminal on a clean surface along with a non-melting grease .Do not go from the regulator to the battery neg. terminal . If the factory neg. wiring in the harness fails w/this in place you will have troubles and I mean TROUBLES . Remember , these charging systems are rinky-dink and just recharge the battery , they are not an electrical generating station . Treat them as such . If you are pretty smart on 12 DC ( I know an alternator puts out AC voltage) electrical systems read the post Phil posted above 3 or 4 times to appreciate all the info in the article. You will spend a good amount of time learnin' about what you need to know for in the future. Good Luck
  23. Does this look right ?
