I think it was this forum I told about CHP going from Harleys to Kawasakis. The Harleys were constantly needing maintenance , valve jobs every few months . The Kawasakis had ZERO maintenance problems . The only thing the Kawasaki would NOT do the Harleys did w/no problem was pushing stalled cars off the interstate. W/the Harleys , if the bumpers matched , you could shove it. The Kawasakis would fold the forks up and bend the frames. -

In W Ky, SEMO, So.Il. & NW Tn. I don't think I have ever seen a cycle cop ? -
BUT , the Ducati is not an enigma !

Ducatis are beautiful , pricey , expensive and all your friends want to ride it. So are 21 yr. old girls. Their amusement park is ready to go 7-24 and they can get by on 2hrs. sleep. I want one but I don't need one.

I found the Vrroommm bicycle ad but wasn't smart enough or could remember how to put it up here. Also , we would buy the baseball cards , throw away the hard piece of gum and clip the cards to the bike not caring if it were Bob Gibson giving his life for my listening pleasure or anyone else . Also , we learned to tie ballons to the same spot . Not as good but annoying just the same.

Amen to footgoose . The ethanol causing the fuel tank problems . Use straight gasoline only for the best results . The tank sealer is a good help. Removing the air bubbles , read all posts and use your judgement.

This is stupid but it could be poor contacts between the bulb/terminals. At least that was my problem ! When you FIX the conact problem , use your goop of choice to repair the issue . My favorite is Motorcraft electrical grease. -
Was that from today's spin ?

Uhhhh , yeah that would be correct

There is more content in one line of a Bob Dylan song than most musc groups will sing in a lifetime . I had the privilege of getting to know Kermit (Kermit's Chair) Easterling at biker rallyes . At this rallye which happen to be in Burkesville , we discussed Dylan in great length. I couldn't (naively) believe a man this old could be so cool as to know so much about Dylan & his philosophies.

This is an important and good read . If you are going to use the crimp type hose clamps , practice using the clamp/tool on a practice hose to get good at this style clamp system. You say your bike has the "in tank" fuel system ? Be careful working around these fittings. You break this stuff and you are going to be ANGRY !

IDK what Piaggo wants or wants to do w/the brand ? It seems like they want to dilute , emasculate or kill it . I thought the US was the only country that did this ? I would think they would want they would want to emphasize personality (quirkiness) and work in conjunction w/sellers, dealerships and clubs, already established. With this being said, I cannot imagine 5 letters would be this problematic or how would you identify yourself or be PROUD of your ownership or involvement with M**O G***I.

I am w/o words . Are there any Guzzi family members still alive ? Maybe they have a cease and desist letter at their house too ?

.W/O having the trans. in gear , you are rotating the flywheel and trans. input shaft at the same time. There is no chance of getting it to align I hope you are using longer bolts or home-made studs as guide bolts to reassemble? This thing will slide together , slide together . I also saw a guy try to reassemble a 65 model Massey-Ferguson tractor with the bolt tightening method . It was hard until "POW" it slid together . He demolished that tractor using his hubris/stupidity.

You (I hope) did use a line-up tool to assemble the clutch assy. ? This thing should slide together w/o any trouble. You want the trans. in gear and hold the output shaft where it will not spin. Use a socket on .the end of the c/shaft and rotate until it aligns , then push it together EASY , making sure it all goes together top/bottom , left/right sides are all have the same air gap the entire time you go together . This should go together easily . I can't emphasize enough EASILY . One time I installed a clutch in a 84 F-150 so fast , I got scared , took it back out because I KNEW I did something wrong

You might want to be absolutely sure about what you are doing. You could end up w/a very expensive lesson.

The Chinese LEDs are pathetic. We install these @ work and 1/10 of them go out as soon as you apply voltage .

A warm and fuzzy feeling . Not to compare M/G with H/D .but around here you cannot sew , weld, make wooden idols , anything w/the words , colors, liken or graven images Harley Davison w/o getting a cease and desist order from The Firm ! Jehovah (of the Old Testament) didn't have this kind of attitude. And he had some people to keep in line. I guess the golden calf was o/k but when they branded the wings & M/G emblem , KABOOM ! Now , when you have to explain to most everyone you meet how to pronounce / spell it , much less what it is , you know this is not a household name. If "the parent company" charged $1.00 for every time this name was typed on a computer , they might earn $200.00/yr.
