  1. Aluminum for a bolt ? stupid .BMW has them all over their automobile engines . If I am going to pare weight , I would lose 40lbs. instead of something this stupid .
  2. You don't forgive that "that's just business" stuff . NEVER
  3. Any plug wire with screw in resistor caps will have solid core wire . If you want to prove it , remove the cap and look into the center of the plug wire . You are going to see copper strands. Also , there is no need to run a resistor cap on non-solid filament wires .
  4. I hope it works well for you . AGM batteries need AGM chargers .
  5. To extend the Buell subject . I rode ONE a loooong time ago and I can't remember the model . White paint w/what I would describe a light purple exhaust . I rode it about 10 miles , stopping twice to get off and verify it had a H/D engine . This thing was PERFECT !
  6. Shooting from the hip , I think it is 0.010'' . and , yes it is critical . When you do check this , make sure the tooth you are going to use to set the air gap is in the center of the hole .
  7. You know the other side is screwed up too . Take it apart and do it right . You don't want to ride 45 miles and ruin a new riding boot on this account .
  8. Seth , the leaking o-ring(s) can be accessed after removing the rocker arm assy . Look at a parts diagram and see what you need . When I repaired mine , I just used OEM stuff .
  9. You either have a bad connection or a bad battery . I assume you are testing at the battery terminals ? Loosen and retighten them and test again .
  10. Easy , what is your battery voltage with key off ? It had better be above 12.65 v What is the battery voltage with key on engine off ? ______
  11. Now , lemme get this straight ............ 0.157v at absolute closed throttle blade . Min. idle screw backed out , no choke linkage interference , balance link disconnected . With all this ok , adjust your TPS to 0.157v . No________ go back through your procedure and make it so . If all this is true. Reconnect your balance shaft and adjust your min idle adjustment screw to 0.540v .
  12. Well , after you get going , you will want to get in your time machine and go back a few years and install it then .
  13. Better , as in NO problems ? How long could you ride before it started acting up again ?
  14. What are Carb Tune and Twin Max ?
  15. After the bike cooled down completely , did it run better w/no problems or do you still have issues ?
  16. It does feel good to savor a bike ride . To listen to the pathetic racket of the clutch sounds , feel the short (now) throw of the shifter , the crazy MG sound , the odd looks and enjoying exclusivity .
  17. I am wanting you to verify good fuel flow . That is the only reason . Remember , you are getting internet opinions and we are getting your description about the bike's symptom(s) .
  18. Mine went kaput & I just ordered one from MG Cycle and installed it . NO problems , worries , will it fit , etc.
  19. Make sure you have the fuel shut-off turned on . I have a story to ( not ) tell you about that one .
  20. I use SnapOn because of the quality of the tools . I'm not sure how much the throttle shaft wear would affect the injection system . This "leak" would perform the same as the bypass screws being opened more . There is no O2 system to care how much air comes into the intake mixture or how much is in the exhaust . All air/fuel mixture is "mapped" according to the throttle angle , air temp , cylinder head temp and barometric pressure readings . Now , all screws came out except one of the fuel injector hold-down screws . I got the throttle body so hot it almost melted the injector holder . It eventually came out . On reassembly I used Loctite Green . This is just in case I need to do it again . BTW , Loctite Red is kind of ETERNAL isn't it ?
  21. Is your pump in-tank or under tank ?
  22. I can't guarantee your results . My bike was gonna work or go into the ditch .
  23. Phil , this is where the word SnapOn comes in . Mine had factory sealant on them . Do you have a heat gun you can use to warm up the aluminum around where the screws are in the throttle body ? Be careful , this is similar to a self vasectomy w/o sedatives . It either works or ooops . The hardest were the screws holding the fuel injectors to the throttle bodies . My motivation was , I had nowhere to go but up !
  24. I don't know how different they will be , but I will record the next event . The greenie will not run well in town . It sputters and acts up below 35mph . Everything else is gonna get me in a "whole heap uh trouble" . I need to check this speedo for accuracy . This little thing wants to go WFO !
