I bought a Timesert thread repair kit for 5.4 Ford trucks that blow out spark plugs . $$$$$ It is a bulletproof kit . GM approves Timesert for Cadillac ( the worst junk rolling ) head bolt repairs . Fastenal sells a repair kit too . The 6mm kit is a plug that uses a 1/4 20 tap to install . BTW , I am the king of twisting off , stripping / crossing / boogering up threads .

Timesert is a plug , and Helicoil is a spiral thread kit and looks like a spring . Are you sure the screws are not too long ? There is nothing soft about the cylinder head threads . People install the wrong length screws and trouble happens or try to torque these screws to 25 ft.lbs. . Please treat these like Phillips head screws when you tighten them .

Nothing , put 'em in and snug them up. snug , not loose and not too tight .

I would put an amount of electrical grease in the cavities before plugging it up for a perfect connection .

when you do this you will need a clutch alignment tool and clean all unpainted parts in this assy. prior to going back together .

And they are shitty . Guaranteed to break and fuel up your boot at the wrong time .

Whatever you do , make sure you correct the problem before going down the road and hauling it back with the same problem(s) ! I think what ever rotor you come up with you can swap the rotor only instead of the entire assy. I think these spools are removable and the rotor can be swapped . These should be clean and spin kinda easy .

Hopefully everyone knows the smaller #s will be intake clearance and the larger #s are the exhaust clearance because of the hotter components and will expand taking up clearance .

What is wrong with your caliper ? The rotor I will have to think about parting with it .

And you should make these "loose" numbers !

I sent mine to Palo Alto Speedo for service . The only complaint being the painted needles faded again .

Don't read too much . Just get one and install . No more H Farmall shifting . It will take a week to find N the shifting will be so close . You will be mad at yourself for not doing this earlier ! DO IT !

You don't have to worry . It IS gonna do this and no matter what you spray on the case , it is going to peel , delaminate or whatever it is called .
