  2. It's simply because he's the FIRST, subsequent black presidents people won't bat an eyelid it doesn't make them racist. When the first woman is elected it will be novel not because she's a woman but because she's the first that doesn't mean I'm a sexist. It will be the same for the first gay ,disabled, etc being first always creates extra intrest
  3. whats it involve?
  4. I've aways considered WSB more entertaining to watch than motogp, the racing is usually closer, a wider variety of makes and two races on the same day just brilliant
  5. You can't be serious" personal responsibility" in this age of blame someone else---anyone else! --unheard of, it will never become popular
  6. We also have what amounts too a 2 party system which doesn't give a lot of choice. I honestly hope obama does well but the cynic in me says if he pushes to hard against the party line even with the best of intentions he will be chewed up by the party machine, it happens here all the time
  7. QUOTE (tmcafe @ Jan 19 2009, 08:35 AM) Sorry, couldn't resist: "Real Bikers" "Real Rebels" it must be hard for the highwayman to type with only one free hand.
  8. Hi,I use Penrite hypoid80w90(as recommened) bought in 2.5 ltr bottles into which I add 1 tube of molybdenum disulfide, shaken not stirred and use as required in both gearbox and diff . The key words are as recommened by motorguzzi and if deviating from this, motoguzzi and your dealer has a legal loophole on warranty claims. As for the more expensive oils, do they supply enough benefit to justify the sometime very high price, only time will tell. p.s. 2 friends who have guzzi's that I ride with often both use hypoid80w90 with no moly added their bikes have covered 141000kms and 165000kms with no diff problems .I think the key is regular changing. p.p.s. sorry about highjacking this thread before but sometimes statements need to be addressed
  9. the sound ,the speed, seeing new places, challenging roads, the occasional fright when entering a corner too fast ,a ride with friends and a cold one at the end of the day
  10. My apologies, after speaking to a friend who has spoken to pete roper I find out he came from the UK I suppose thats why talking is better than typeing, I didn't once detect an accent in his posts
  11. I believe if pete lives in NSW Australia he would be an aussie not a Brit who would be a resident of the United kingdom
  12. And yes my father was a scotsman GOLF PANTIES The Swede's wife steps up to the tee and, as she bends over to place her ball, a gust of wind blows her skirt up and reveals her lack of underwear. 'Good God, woman! Why aren't you wearing any skivvies?', Ole demanded. Well, you don't give me enough housekeeping money to afford any.' The Swede immediately reaches into his pocket and says, 'For the sake of decency, here's a 50. Go and buy yourself some underwear.' Next, the Irishman's wife bends over to set her ball on the tee. Her skirt also blows up to show that she, too, is wearing no undies. 'Blessed Virgin Mary, woman! You've no knickers. Why not?' She replies, 'I can't afford any on the money you give me.' Patrick reaches into his pocket and says , 'For the sake of decency, here's a 20. Go and buy yourself some underwear!' Lastly, the Scotsman's wife bends over. The wind also takes her skirt over her head to reveal that she, too, is naked under it. 'Sweet mudder of Jaysus, Aggie! Where ta friggin hell are yer drawers?' She too explains, 'You dinna give me enough money ta be able ta affarrd any.' The Scotsman reaches into his pocket and says, 'Well, fer the love 'o decency, here's a comb..... Tidy yerself up a bit.
  13. I also was in the south island last september just beautiful the roads are brilliant unfortunatly I was in a camper. The local brews are nice and happened to stop at a bike friendly pub at Mahone which had the world superbikes on tv. Some of the touristy towns like Queenstown can be expensive though.
  14. Welcome ,good to have another aussie around .If you ride to the budgie this year I'll probably run into you, tenni's aren't exactly common so you should be easy to spot. I've been going for the last 6 or so years and bought a rosso mandello about 8mths ago. I'm sure you'll find this a very helpfull and informative site, gavin
  15. yeah I want the go cart with the supercharged option--------yeah ha
  16. I know its not a guzzi but it is a v configeration and he is talented Hmmmm wonder if he'll do a guzzi engine http://www.moyermade.com/chevyV8.html
  17. I thought the recommened interval for belt change was 30,000 kms. Sure u might get 100,000 or more kms but its like russian roulette and if one breaks at any decent rev it could be expensive or you could be lucky like me and strip 8 teeth off the front belt on my ducati and no damage, was only doing 1500rpm at the time (do you feel lucky)
  18. I thought it hadn't started in paris for a while either
  19. good HP figures from a half litre single but why keep the rear cylinder weight and as a compresser surely this would drain power. does the rear cylinder push an extra charge of air into the front pot?
  20. This is fun lets address your reply in point form shall we. 1:chronic diseases, a drug and equipment shortage caused by a trade embargo implemented by the USA for the last what? 45years, might have something to do with it. 2:Medical training, there are numerous demorcratic countries whose doctors have trouble passing certifcation in your's or my country, however my wife works in medicine and has worked with many fine doctors from overseas sometimes better than the local product. sometimes things like the AMA are more about politics. 3:you seem to have a penchant for labeling people when they disagree with you,I have not said I'm a marxist but simply believe there is a better way than the extremes of communism and capitalism.you seem to believe if you make a profit its ok whatever you do. 4:oh and I believe another country has a gulag on cuba hmmmmmmm oh and moly is a wonderful thing. p.s. if the goverment puts up money to bail out a private company( which it seems to be doing a lot of) does it then become a state owned company or are the taxpayers just the suckers giving money to the wealthy when they screw up?
  21. But ain't a Free Market Economy a Truly Marvelous Thing of Beauty and Joy Forever -- compared to all other alternatives, that is?? And yet, with centuries of history, knowledge, and expertise behind it, we still have fools screaming, "This is morally wrong, and IT'S GOT TO BE STOPPED!". . . . . . And waddayagonna do? yup the free market economy is in a wonderful state at the moment
  22. my monies on the outfit to stay upright
