I also own a rosso mandello and two weeks ago I did a 900 km day with only abit of soreness in my left arm but hey I'm 51 I also got a bit sore on an sv suzuki I had and that hacd a very upright seating position. The point being different people find comfort on different bikes try moving around on the bike ,leaning on a tank bag. I also find discomfort heightens when the road is straight and boring, never have a problem in the twisties

I agree all black looked much better(they say blacks slimming) but THAT red and black one is just plain fugly

congrats on the mandello I also have a second 300 mandello I puchased 3 months ago with 2600 Km's on the clock. I had trouble with the relays at 3000ks and replaced all at $12 each, have not had a problem since, as for the tyres my bike had 120/70 front 170/60 rear its a 2001 model. I had an informative talk with tyres for bikes in Brisbane and was told the 160/60 rear will quicken turn in slightly and give a larger contact patch when leaned over also many racers will swap the front for a 120/65 to quicken the steering. I've just fitted a 160/60 rear and am happy and have had no problems pushing hard through the twisty stuff, plus 160/60 is a more common size so more choice of brands.big tyres might look good but I have friends with early guzzies with 110 rear and they corner just as well . No other probs yet removed gearbox plate pawl spring and boss size ok, haven't looked at brake or clutch fluid yet but changed all oils. the tool kit is not bad compared to some, enjoy the new bike the mandello is one of the more eye catching models, gavo

2001 mandello,I pulled the gearbox plate at 3000 ks,spring ok boss ok.rounded of sharp edge that spring rests against, now 7500ks no problems, fingers crossed

your right she could poke someones eye out with those. mmmmmmmmm make a nice set of ear plugs
-
Buy some new plugs, ride to a good stretch of road, stop and install new plugs, ride at say 4000rpm in top gear for couple of Ks. Hit kill switch and pull in clutch at same time roll to stop and pull the plugs this will give u an accurate plug reading in the area you most need to worry about

A lot of variables here but although I haven't had a mich pilot on my guzzi the mich sport pilot on the front of my ducati has outlasted 2 bridgestones and 1 pirelli on the rear all with hard sport or high speed touring riding. look at tyre often as i had a rear bridgestone 020 go from looks ok to canvas showing shagged in 800 Ks on the rear of the suzuki sv650 I had

Is the clip spring steel I've seen something similar on car calipers where the ring slots into a groove to stop the pin moving unless it is punched out

thanks to all for the help I'll give it a go, sag is 30mm both ends I weight 90 kg sometimes have 60 kg pillion some times a little luggage(tent, sleeping bag, tank bag)nearly always sport riding and a lot of bumpy roads. I've ridden a mates 76 mk1 lemans and it rides as plush as a limo,(he uses 5 weight oil)of course I have heaps more ajustments so I have to start somewhere I know hidden in there is a softer ride without sacrificeing handling

no,no,no I just wanted the baseline figure they give in the manual,my manual is for a later model and gives baseline figures but not for my forks. my bike is second group of mandello's and the forks look like marzocchi. the bike is second hand and i have no idea who's changed what. so i would like a standard starting point, then if i can't ajust them to my likeing I'll get into the internals. pushing hard on the bumpy roads around here wear's me out I need more compliant suspension still good for fast twisties

can someone help please. my 01 mandello has forks with what appeares to b rebound ajustment on 1 leg and compression on the other with only a small screw for ajustment.16 clicks on one 18 clicks on the other. my manual does not show this type of fork or specify settings ,has anyone got the standard factory settings

Any idea's, the tacho starts to waver on my mandello after 15 mins riding with the headlight on. Turn headlight off tacho normal. ps have replaced all the relays under seat except the middle one.

are the clutches in v11's always this noisy or just my mandello. pull the lever in the noise goes, I've had bikes with dry clutches before but this seems loud. bike has 3000k's

I've just bought my rosso mandello from a shop in melbourne over the phone( i live in Queensland) it's a 2001 model and has an italian flag on the side cover so I suppose its second run but it's only done 2600 Kms and its my first guzzi and I like it.
