  1. Very nice. Like the road signs in Oz giving suggested minimum( ) cornering speeds. About double seems to work
  2. Stuck to right side of helmet
  3. Some footage of the ride and arrival of the Z rally in QLD last weekend Bugger won't embed
  4. I've seen this before , apparently it's a legitimate hike track in the US i think. Easy ride if you got really ,really big balls
  5. I also have a rosso mandello, and yes the carbon fibre is only a shell but can be hard to slide off. Also there is a foil wrap between the fibre and the muffler, you'll likely destroy this when you remove the fibre sleeve, no matter mine went back together without it and no problems and it'll slide back together slightly easier. Haven't checked out the crossover. The result was a better note and no mixture changes required.
  6. Thats harsh but funny
  7. No it won't break down in the sewage. Just put in an envelope and post it to me
  8. Yeah ,lucky they didn't choke this time, eh
  9. I can't take credit for it, but took it from here http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=731217 a forum i use a lot. He said he has more and will post and I thought people here would appreciate it
  10. http://www.go-faster.com/SS100.html Good show
  11. Try a block of wood on top of the head stem then hit with hammer so as not to damage thread or nylon faced mallet. Maybe apply heat gun (hot air type) to top bearing, I assume your going to replace the bearings?/ Mine were hard to get apart and pretty dry as well but not rusted
  12. Congratulations. You don't look very comfortable holding the young fella
  13. Why indeed, I've just bought a new battery for my 2001 mandello thats a good ten years out of the original and I still have the factory relays although have had some problems with contact between the pins and spade bits
  14. I think jaap s right he has to clean up the blood and although sometimes entertaining how can u trust the information of someone who never admits he could be wrong. His posts were mind numbingly long and the insults and sarcasm was often undeserved--- move on
  15. Welcome guzzler, does the name refer to your bike's or you your drinking habits You'll be fine on the mechanical side just read lots and take your time and gloss over some of the anal-lizing that goes on here, there's plenty of good info to be had
  16. I'm not avaliable right now , please leave a message and I'll get back to you ASAP
  17. Oh yeah he had the arm action right
  18. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries Oh sorry I think someones done that line
  19. Well you haven't really changed the frame geometry but you have changed the center of balance point. Imagine the bottom of your tyre is the fulcrum and there is a lever that goes straight up through the seat now by raising the seat you've lengthened this lever meaning less force is needed to tip the bike. Also does the number plate hit the hugger at full suspension compression?
  20. That sounds just a little snobby don't you think. Before the latte swilling set got into bikes it was a means of transport for the common man, a pudding helmet and what ever you have on and this is still the case for millions around the world, these are real motorcyclists not the crowd that have $1000 helmet,$2000 leathers and $30000 bike the take to a mechanic to pump up the tyres and then they only ride to the local cafe. So he only has a $100 helmet, he's made some effort. Oh and when you pull on your xyz brand heavy leathers , Armour etc and its really hot , remember more people die from heatstroke than bike accidents
  21. I had that happen on my last rear tire, right in the middle. Looked okay till a gas stop near LA and I parked it till I could get a new tire as well. Had to ride on the back of my buddie's ST1300 bank to San Diego, which must have looked rediculous. Two grown men in full gear on a Honda It certainly wasn't to the point it wouldn't hold air though. What do tires cost over there? A set of pirelli diablos cost around, what, $300-350 I guess. I paid $300 for a rear Michelin pilot road 2, fitted, about 5 mths ago. A front would cost about $250. Sometimes set of tires can be found on sale at around $400-450 I can actually buy at set of tires from the USA and have them delivered to my door for slightly more than the cost of a rear tire here, and lots of people are doing that sort of thing now and not just with tires. This has local retailers crying foul and calling for import duties and customers saying well if they were priced competitively instead of trying to make a million on every sale we would buy locally. After all these same businesses were calling for a free market afew years ago. Seems its not so attractive now
  22. I've taken a rear Tyre that far, caught me by surprise, the design of the Tyre had no tread in the middle , I was riding straight roads and one minute it looked fine 20ks later canvas was showing through. Had to stay in Mackay overnight (it was Sunday) and buy a new one next day. Some rears can look ok one minute and OMG the next. However I don't see an excuse for the front one. And tyres might not be that expensive in the states but in Aus ----Ouch
