Don't know if this is the right forum but it is bike related anyone recommend people in europe , UK or the US of A that sells replica or refurbished parts for old bikes, road or race. Ive found this site http://www.discovolantemoto.co.uk/index.php but others seem thin on the ground. No specific brands in mind just looking for bits for my project, Thanks

I think thats mainly media hype. the Dam has a second emergency spillway see here http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/01/11/3110758.htm however levels are to go higher than record 74 flood with up to 19000 homes going under. As pete said 10 confirmed dead and at least 90 missing, 75% of state flooded. And it's speading nth NSW flooding and flooding predicted for Vic, Tas, and SA. Ass for me I'm lucky up on a hill but this is day 5 stuck here and wifes stuck in town. Working my way through the pantry but the rivers going down slowly so maybe tomorrow. The weather boffins say la nina weather pattern caused this and as its so strong this year there could be further rain until winter. May be a moist ride to Tassy next month

The wildlife is one of the reasons you shouln't wade through th flood waters, aprt from the obvious, and the not so obvious like submerged log floating past, it can be easy to meet up with say a brown snake swimming for his life and in an ugly mood. Also up north crocs move about with the water which disturbs feeding so they can be hungery, plus when the waters receed you can end up with crocs in swimming holes that never had any before. The up side for me is I cant get to work and the powers still on but the rivers still rising so maybe another day or 2 before I can get to work or town

Note also tho, that the GS1200 is not a cradle design, gets extensive off road abuse & doesn't have a reputation for breaking frame or casings that I know of. KB Although the 1150 has a good reputation the 1200 may have a questionmark over it. On a recent ride with a group, one of the 1200's had a big endo The rider said it felt strange just before he went down. On inspection of all the dmage front to rear the casting for the swingarm/driveshaft was broken through just in front of the axle. Apparently this is not the first time some people have heard of this and we're not sure if it's a result of the crash or caused it. But the section of track where it happenend was smooth and dry with a small hump in the road

This all really depends on how much time and money you want to spend and how off road you want to go I. I know the pis of a Ducati but note somp guard is attached to frame not engine and the link might give you some food for thought.http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=428685&highlight=monstro

Iwas doing work on the gas pipeline from Karratha to Perth and had to go out to Gascoyne juction about 27yrs ago. I remember sitting in the bar of the pub/shed having a beer and looking at the lines painted on the walls indicating flood levels from previous years and now on news footage it appears the pubs been washed away

Yeah I need help I'm going stir crazy . to quote monty python BLOODY WEATHER. Gympie where I live has been very lucky this time round which is surprising as the Mary river floods in a big way. its been raining for about 4 weeks on and off yesterday the river rose about 4mtrs in 4 hours and one of the bridges into town is about to go under. It's pissing down as I type and its supposed to continue well into next week. Riding to Tassy in feb but the way things are going, although it may be drier down south roads there may be flooded or damage. This was also a year for the second attempt at a simpson desert crossing, is was flooded we we tried last year, now again

For sand the best technique weight rearward and keep the front light using power. The V11 has rear weight bias (may help) I think your limited by tyre sizes rears seam to stop at 150 width but thats fine for a big BMW or KTM 990 although they can chew them out fast. I've done direct comparison between TKC80, Mitas E09, and a Metzler sahara with the metz and mitas on a par and both outlasting the TKC, the metz gave surprising grip considering the less aggressive tread pattern compared to the e09 try the mitas website they have an E10 for big bikes. Another problem you may have is to run sand its best to have low tyre pressures. Most dirt bikes run rim locks to stop the tyre spinning on the rim. All the devices I've seen to secure the tyre involve drilling a hole or several in the rim

Hi, it seems to me a sump guard would be a must do as I've already broken one fin. Gravel roads and potholes not a problem, just pay attention, higher wider bars would help relieve some forward weight, fork gaters and a boot for the shock to stop the gritty stuff getting into your seals, tubes incase you dent a rim and practise at fixing roadside flats. and some better air filtration, both access and reuseable, also some decent crash bars, if your on the dirt you'll put it down eventually, all though panniers will help at the rear something at the front would be good. A few people have turn ducati monsters into pretty good dual purpose bikes if you look you'll find some in here somewhere http://www.advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=32&order=desc I read a story of a guy that rode one of the early slab side GSXR 1100 suzuki's from Sydney up the cape with little more than nobbies fitted, river crossings beaches , the lot back in the 80's so anythings possible

Funny when he's talking about riding the guzzi, hes says it wasn't much slower than riding a big bike----------I wonder how much bigger than 1225cc he considers a big bike, maybe V10 viper

A virile, middle-aged Moto guzzi rider named Guido was relaxing at his favourite bar in Rome when he managed to attract a spectacular young blonde woman. Things progressed to the point where he invited her back to his apartment and, after some small talk, they retired to his bedroom where he rattled her senseless. After a pleasant interlude, he asked with a smile, 'So, you finish?' She paused for a second, frowned, and replied, 'No.' Surprised, Guido reached for her and the rattling resumed. This time she thrashed about wildly and there were screams of passion. The sex finally ends and, again, Guido smiles and asks, You finish?' Again, after a short pause, she returns his smile, cuddles closer to him and softly says, 'No.' Stunned, but damned if he was going to leave this woman unsatisfied, Guido reaches for the woman yet again. Using the last of his strength, he barely manages it, but they end together screaming, bucking, clawing and ripping the bed sheets. Exhausted, Guido falls onto his back, gasping. Barely able to turn his head, he looks into her eyes, smiles proudly and asked again, 'You finish?' Barely able to speak, the beautiful blond whispers in his ear......., 'No, I'm Norwegian.'

Yes I think the place has gone very quiet especially since Rachet got the flick as muchas I disliked him he livened the place up. I think all forums have their sub groups and people naturally gravitate towards like minded people. All forums seem to have those that want to shoot everyone down, those that only read, and those that want to share every thought that passes through there brain. For me the guzzi is no longer the new bike and I'm having no problems with it, I've bought another dirt bike and a Bultaco 350 for a cafe project so my intrest lies elswhere at the moment. I still look in occasionally but I have more intrest in a dirt bike forum called ADV at the moment as it has local content and some people on it live within 200ks so we ride together sometimes

I thought the englishmen here would appreciate this A lady walked into a Police Station and the desk Sergeant said "Can I help you?" "Yes" she said, "I'd like to report a case of sexual assault". "Where did it happen?" the Sergeant asked. "In the park just down the road" she replied. "Can you describe what happened?" "Yes, I was walking along the footpath in the park near the trees when a man jumped out of the bushes and dragged me in there, removed my underwear then he dropped his pants to his knees and had his way with me". "Could you give me a description of him?" "Yes, he was wearing white shoes, long white trousers, a white shirt and he had these two big long pads from his feet up to and over his knees, one on each leg". "Sounds to me like he was a cricketer, most probably a batsman", said the Sergeant. "Yes", said the lady, "He was an Aussie Cricketer". "That's very observant", said the Sergeant, "You worked that out from his accent?" "No", she replied. "I worked it out because he wasn't in for very long".

Bomber StrikeMuslim suicide bombers in Britain are set to begin a three-day strike on Monday in a dispute over the number of virgins they are entitled to in the afterlife. Emergency talks with Al Qaeda have so far failed to produce an agreement. The unrest began last Tuesday when Al Qaeda announced that the number of virgins a suicide bomber would receive after his death would be cut by 25% this February from 72 to 60. A company spokesman said increases in recent years in the number of suicide bombings have resulted in a shortage of virgins in the afterlife. The suicide bombers' union, the British Organization of Occupational Martyrs ( or B.O.O.M. ) responded with a statement saying the move was unacceptable to its members and called for strike vote. General Secretary Abdullah Amir told the press, "Our members are literally working themselves to death in the cause of Jihad. We don't ask for much in return, but to be treated like this is like a kick in the teeth". Speaking from his shed in Tipton in the West Midlands , Al Qaeda chief executive Osama bin Laden explained, "I sympathize with our workers' concerns, but Al Qaeda is simply not in a position to meet their demands. They are simply not accepting the realities of modern-day Jihad in a competitive marketplace. Thanks to Western depravity, there is now a chronic shortage of virgins in the afterlife. It's a straight choice between reducing expenditures or laying people off. I don't like cutting benefits, but I'd hate to have to tell 3,000 of my staff that they won't be able to blow themselves up." Spokespersons for the union in the North East of England, Ireland , Wales , and the entire Australian continent stated that the change would not hurt their membership as there are few virgins in their areas anyway. According to some industry sources, the recent drop in the number of suicide bombings has been attributed to the emergence of Scottish singing star, Susan Boyle. Many Muslim jihadists now know what a virgin looks like and have reconsidered their benefit packages__________________
