Bloody good idea, I'm with him -
You haven't said if the spring was changed , but assuming it was I'd at least get out the tape measure and checked sag figure differance between front and rear. Also advice from the pro who revalved and respung the rear shock on one of my bikes said I should definatly at least respring the front

I'd like some of the hooters contributions beneath me -
I gutted my mufflers in 3 stages final stage being empty cans and larger stainless outlet welded in still not overly loud but drums at certain speeds and and the overrun sounds crap. My advice buy aftermarket cans or if u have time but not cash, build cans from scratch of a known design. I'm going to copy some well known rev/cone megaphones Ps all this change requied no fueling changes on my bike and it has continued to run well in all weather

Piaggio and Ducati to merge? Words - Mark FattoreRumour mill is running overtime An Italian news wire service has sent the rumour mill into overdrive by promulgating a potential merger between the country's two motorcycle giants: the privately owned Ducati and Piaggio. And despite a categorical denial by Piaggio's majority shareholder, Immsi SpA, that a union is on the cards, the story continues to gain momentum. The wire service, MF, reported that a global management consultancy company, McKinsey & Company, had been contracted to evaluate potential merger candidates for the struggling Piaggio Group, and Ducati is being tipped as the best option. A merger between the two would certainly create a behemoth to take on the might of Japan, both in the wide range of products on offer - from scooters to top-shelf sportsbikes and everything in between - and in volume to take on emerging markets such as south-east Asia. Ducati is an eponymous marque, but Piaggio owns Vespa, Gilera, Derbi, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, as well as badging products under its own name, Currently, Immsi SpA, controlled by businessman Roberto Colaninno, has a 51.1 percent stake in Piaggio after selling about 2.5 percent just last week. Ducati is owned by Performance Motorcycles S.p.A, which is an investment vehicle of three main emporiums: Investindustrial, BS Investimenti and Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan.

And to use another english expression you may or may not be familiar with-------- bollocks -
This is unbelievable. Rarely have I witnessed such a childish display from so-called ADULTS. Opinions and insults going around in circles and still no closer to a question which realistically can have only one answer. But most of all I feel sorry for JAAP for putting in the effort and ending up with this shit. From now on I'll seek my information elsewhere
-
I didn't think such a simple question would cause such a drama I only asked because I'm going to try a new spring on the sachs shock as I was browsing this site http://teknikracing.rtrk.com.au/?scid=28689&kw=4315973. But it appears I'll have to measure my spring myself to get an accurate answer or strip it and take it to the experts( the real ones not the virtual ones)
-
Ok, If 1091 is the length in mm then your spring is about half as long as your whole bike, must be a typo. second , what is the free length of the sachs spring in comparison to the Olhins one. Has anyone got the oem spring rate written down in front of them eg, workshop manual, guzzi brochure, etc So far ratchet is the only one to put forward something that makes sense. so provided his measuring is accurate and the spring estimator/calculator is right then 9.5kg/mm or 93.157N/mm is correct. So no seat of the pants figures , no, I got this cause bob got that one, just hard facts. And no more playschool antic's

Where I'm sitting It 37c ,38yesterday, 37 the day before 36 tomorrow hasn't rained a usable amount in months and all the trees are dropping there leaves because of a lack of water there that should start something
