The 1st 300 had a number on the side panel I think, mine has just got a United Kingdom flag there although I do have a nice certificate to tell me it's a limite edition and it's number. Whether all the other country flag mandellos have a certificate I do not know.

Had my Mandello off the road for a while now since my throttle cable snapped while overtaking some cars on an uphill stretch . Changed the cable then set about doing some other maintenance. Greased the U joints, bled the rear brake. I am working my to the front of the bike. Anyway got round to the gearbox and engine oil today. Warmed the bike up then drained off what looked like 'cream of mushroom soup' (colour wise) from the gearbox and the usual dark used oil colour from the engine. Refilled with fresh oil and my how quiet things have become. Looking to do the same again in March/April and use Redline Shockproof that seems to be a favorite on here. I have been suprised a what I have been able to do with the help of the workshop manual and looking through this forum

Just done a search on the internet and the fender extender part No. is for a Triumph Legend and Adventurer. This came from a UK 2006 Triumph catologue.

I use a Micron rear paddock stand which i've found to be very stable, and used two scissor jacks on each side of the tie rod when I removed the swing arm. They were stable ish but you have to be careful not to knock the bike. Just need a front paddock stand now to work on the front end.

test ride? bought my Mandello on looks alone then found it handled like a pig on roller skates . changed the tyres and set the suspension up and it was transformed into a thing of grace it's got enough power for me and feels like it's going fast when it's not unlike most modern sports bikes which go so fast and don't feel like it at all. this Guzzi thing creeps up on you and gets into your heart and soul

They look good but I was wanting to get rid of the passenger footrest hangeras well.

seen these pics on the Millepercento site and was wondering if anybody knew what make of exhausts these are. if not will have to try and brush up on Italian and email them.

would like to be included in this as well, it could be my first trip away on the bike and it would be great to meet other guzzi riders. my girlfriend Loo B Lou would also like to come but on her bike I would think, a Ducati Monster if it's ok to bring none Guzzis.

Am afraid not. I did not want to try and explain why I would have had a sheep riding side saddle. I have though kept the small tuft of wool and flesh stuck to the side stand to ward off further sheep attacks

I can recommend both firms for both price and service. The US parts price can be as much as half of the price you pay in the UK, it's only the postage costs that can bring it down.

The parts i've had to order so far have all taken around a fortnight to arrive, so not too bad really. Although it may be a bit longer to your lovely side of the world. The only thing that is taking a long time is a chutch reservoir bracket as it's showing on back order in Italy . So are you getting the Rosso

I think you should be asking some probing questions of the owner or going back for another ride and counting the gears as you go through them. I would also try to get to see the Ballabio so you know what you would be bidding on, and it would give you a chance to see what raised bars feel like. My Mandello certainly has a 6 speed box but apart from 1st neutral and top I never really know what gear i'm in. I just use the one that feels right

My Mandello came fitted with the higher bars and feel very comfortable. I'd go for the Mandello myself and get the bars either raised or changed, the colour of the bike is what makes it really stand out from the crowd

Went up to Moto Strada in Shipley to collect a pair of 1200 sport mirrors for my V11. The originals had become stuck and unadjustable. The 1200 Sport mirrors looked OK and now there on they look so much better. While I was there I asked to have a ride out on both the Griso and 1200 Sport. The Griso is the first bike in a long while to make me nervous of it's handling , the bars are too wide and the front end too light for me and was glad to get off it. The 1200 Sport which I love the look of felt so much better but did not like the way I ended up leaning on the tank. So came away knowing that my Rosso Mandello is so much nicer to ride than both the Griso and 1200 Sport. The journey home was not so good though. Left the motorway to travel over Saddleworth Moor only to collide with a sheep that had decided to cross the road right infront of me. I managed to stay on when it hit me on the left side of the bike but it broke off the gear change lever . This made for an interesting journey home as I was able to get the bike into a gear, 4th or 5th I think. But being unable to change gear meant lots of slipping clutch to start up from traffic lights and stop signs. my for getting me home.
