Looks like its about time someone added to this post:-
Picked up my 01 model in Feb 08 with 37000 kms now on 41000 kms riding daily, this site has helped with the issues I've had mainly with the electrical system (typical italian letdown).
Melting fuses - installed new fuse holder for the 30amp, now starting to pop the tail and dash light (will be pulling apart the guages to check bulb holder after reading the post on that topic}
Clutch has started to slip at 160 kph only under loading it up so a clutch kit is on order.
Even so I have a shit eating grin every time I ride!!! and she has so far always got me home.
A mate has a green 00 anniversary model he's had from new and he's done over 180 000 kms of extremely hard riding and had all the common faults posted rear wheel bearings, transmission,
Relays , sidestand switch, Oil cooler bracket and is presently rebuilding after lacking oil flow
after hard accelleration (have told him about the roper plate}.
If a bike can cope with what he's put it through over that mileage it ought to last me fine, and the soul feel of riding the v11 is very much like my 1988 MkV Le Mans.
No one came up to me and said "Awsome bike Westy" in 20 years of riding my K100 BMW,
The v11 turns heads, sounds sweet, Draws so many wicked comments and feels so much more like
riding a real bike that I dont regret selling the Beemer, (No intention of selling the MkV either}
The thrill of riding Guzzi's is the only thing that can offset the rising fuel prices at over $2 a litre here I'm playing with the idea of introducing Hydrogen to the equation next,(watchout for Men in Black!}
AAAAAARRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEBBBBBBBAAAAA!!!!
