Good question. The RM is Japanese import. It only had 3000 kms! on odo when I got it 4 years ago. Its done 20000 now. I suspect it has done more but it was a good price. So fuel filler good be old....

Found out cause of fuel leak - faulty fuel filter. This leak was intermittent so hard to trace. Ended up following flow of fuel from tank replaced fuel lines to filter. Thought solved a couple of weeks later leaked again.replaced lines from filter to fuel injection still leaked could only be fuel filter. The seal at rear of filter wasn't sealing in one place. Filter was a Guzzi one! So replaced filter no more leaks at last.

The fuel leak happened again today. This leak is not just a few drops. Over a couple of minutes it leaves a puddle about half a metre square on the ground. At times leak is so bad bike will only run on full choke. Leaks appears to come from above about cylinder head height. I took tank off and checked the two valves were tight and hoses were attached.All ok. Put tank back on and started bike - no leak!!!!!! Then went for a short 60k ride - no leaks. Went out to bike about an hour after I got back and started it - no leaks. What is going on here? Any suggestions

Only seems to happen on start up after not being ridden for a few days and not every time. May not be the overflow valves that are causing the problem.

What do the two nozzles/valves do that are under the tank of my V11RM as shown on the attached picture. I have an intermitent fuel leak that I suspect is coming from these. I've replaced the seals but it still happens. Can I replace them with bolts to block off the holes?

I've made my own stand after being horrifyed at cost to get to New Zealand I used 25 x 25 square steel and 25 x 25 steel angle. Stand works best if you use a piece of 4 x 2 under side stand so bike stands up straighter when you are putting it on stand. I've attached photos. I've got a drawing but cant load it as size is to big. The measuremenst of stand are 320 height and 370mm wide with arm being 1140 long. Suggest you built a timber version to get angle of arm correct

Hi from shakey Christchurch New Zealand - no damage to my home or work. Luckly they are not on the side of the city have has been hit. I'm looking at upgrading front and rear suspension on my V11 RM. I've been looking on Internet and can not find any manufacturer that has anything specific. I've looked at Ohlins,WP,Wilbers,Maxton,Penske,Hyperpro,YSS,Progressive & Marzocchi. I see from looking at this site several owners has used Ohlins & Maxton. I would prefer not to have to get shock specially built as I think it would be more expensive and harder to setup for the V11. There is a motorcycle shop here that is an agent for Ohlins & Racetech if I had to get something specially built. Has anyone any suggestions what I should do?

Has any one tried the new Metzler Z8 interact tyres? Metzler's website only recommends the Z6. Would they be any different than the Z6 on a V11 RM? My RM has a 170/60 Z6 on back. Metzler recommend the 180/55. What do you think change in size would do to handling/steering?

Can some one give me the dimentions of the Moto Guzzi V11 Workshop stand? I thought I would have a go and making one.

Have finally got to the source of starting problem. Took bike to Auto Electrician and he found it was the switch on clutch lever. It stops bike starting if in gear or clutch not pulled it. Got him to loop switch out. So all go now (hopefully)

Is the idea of the LEDs connected to the relay bases to check to see that the relays are connected?

Got bike back from MG dealer.They replaced Rectifier/regulator with an after market one. All go now but its now sometimes not starting due to bad connections in relay block.Any suggestions how to fix?

Does problems with the relay also explain the loss in battery charge?

Thanks for that. I had replaced the orignal MG relays a couple days ago but Ive put old ones back in as a test but with no success.I will try again now battery is charged.

Put charged battery back in bike.Started first time but noticed that revcounter,horn & headlight dont go. Think I will take into Guzzi dealer to get checked out.

Thanks for that.Will leave battery on charge overnight and see if it will start in morning.Don't know how old battery is (had bike 18 months)but it a genuine MG $NZ300 price still on it. Any suggestions on a replacement?

Just been for half a ride. Got about 80 ks from home and stopped at a petrol station to get some thing to drink.Went to start bike again and it wouldn't start. Just made clicking noise. Tried many times.After checking fuses, relaying spark plugs caps got help push starting it and got it going. Got 300-400 metres down road and bike started running rough like it was only running on 1 cylinder. Turned around and got half way back to petrol station before it died. Pushed back to petrol station and rang wife to bring trailer. Home now.Checked battery not flat but not good. Put on charge.I had just replaced two relays(the last of the Guzzi ones)and put in 2 new spark plugs.Bike started easily before ride.Had been differcult to start before new spark plugs 4 - 5 tries to get going.Just remembered that Rev counter wasn't working during ride.It normally does. Any ideas what problem?

Just had a new Tyre fitted to my Rosso Mandello. The tyre it replaced was a 170/55 Pirelli Diablo Strada. Manual specifies a 180/55 for a 5.5 inch rim Guys at bike shop measured rim. Its a 4.5 inch as on rim. They recommended a 170/55.Did RM come with a 4.5 inch? Rim is a MG. Fitted a Metzler 170/55 Roadtec Z6. Seems fine steering is faster. Front is a Pirelli Diablo Strada120/70 3.5 inch. Is the manual wrong? Just puzzled thats all.
