I can say that new cable works fine. I had to slightly bend the metal tube at the gear box end so it had clearance around the rod between the 2 fuel injection bodies -
Used Loctite MR5923 on persistant sump gasket leak Success so far

One of the 1st mods I did when I got my V11. Still working after 77,000 kms -
I see what you mean. Image lost definition once I uploaded it. What's he mean by remove pins and crimp terminals ( see invoice)?

It's the 2 closest to the battery. If you Google the numbers & letters on top line in side of relay you will find listings for them with specifications. I won't pretend to understand them 😊

Just posted photo of relay fitted by shop last week. It is very firmly fitted hence photos taken of it in place. V11 has performed faultlessly since they were fitted.
-
All fixed. Bike shop found relays 1 & 2 not contacting. Invoice has full explanation. I can't up load it off my phone but I've emailed it to MartyNZ. Maybe he can. Back on the road soon. Off to Wanaka

It looks like there is a break in a wire. I don't have skill or tools to sort it here so I've got bike booked at local bike shop today.

Thanks Phil for info. Many thanks Marty. I was away with family most of the day.

I'm away on a trip down east coast and back up west coast of South Island New Zealand. During 1st day of trip taco horn headlight brake light oil light stopped working. I got going again by wiggling relays. But they died again. From Martynz we have worked out it relay number 2. I've tried the spare relays I've got but no go. I tried pushing the wires under relay . This worked until I put seat back. I can get back home the way bike is. But we thought relay 2 handles charging of battery. In which case I could end up on side of road with a flat battery. Are we correct in thinking relay 2 does handle charging the battery?

I had Racetech Springs & valves fitted a few years ago From invoice springs fitted were 260Lx25.5IDx35.3OD 1.0Kg/mm I'm 100 kg plus 10kg of gear. I've just replaced fork oil and found I needed to build a fork compression tool to be able to completely drain the forks I copied one from Racetech's website

How about how to clean up brake calipers back to near their original gold?
-
I'm repeating my self here. Rally has been cancelled - you know the rest by now

I had Racetech springs & valves fitted to my 01 RM 10 years ago. Will try and find out what was done

MM I understood that the RM had original RAM parts where as others had cheap copies that were liable to explode (Says owner of an RM with 75k on clock with original flywheel & clutch)

Success. Got drive shaft greased at the weekend. Feels smoother or is that just my imagination

Interesting to read every bodies tyre pressures. I've always run what maker recommends being about 36 F 42 R Over 40 years of riding I've always run the front tyres to a V shape and rear flat (we have a few straight roads here) Might try lower pressures I'm 190cm 105kg FWIW Oh and I've got 3 positions from front to rear that I can position my bars. p6x you might want to try changing yours for a better riding position

That's a pity. Would have been great to have a photo to show how you had solved the problem that's vexed many owners of short frame V11's
-
Could you upload a photo of how the 180 swivel fits onto the front nipple?
-
I thought as much Mines way overdue for getting some grease in the front nipple If anyone in New Zealand with a long frame V11 wants a right angle coupler you can get them from Macnaught KDR Right Angle Coupler - NZ Safety Blackwoods
