What do you all think about parts availability in the ensuing years? I've recently been considering what to leave in my garage and what should go.

Why does MG say that sump doesn't fit spine frame models when by God there it is? under edit; I think I see why. No provision for the stock side stand?
-
Nah, forget about it! These things are Italian...we have to be passionate about them, eh? Frankly I'm not nuts about a mechanical gauge unless I can run an AN braided line and all my hot-rod friends use electrical gauges so...who knows? I need now to make sure there's no swarf in the sump. I'm dying to have a look in there too at that oil pickup.
-
I'll be gettin' to it, ok!? Christ the thing only went off on me yesterday afternoon! Just trying to have a civil conversation here and I wasn't having any problem with anyone's input until these last 2. Wouldn't it seem logical to ask why the pickup is in such a vulnerable position?
-
All 'er nothin' eh Hubert? How about in the middle where it shouldn't ever get exposed if there's a decent amount of lube in there!? I freely admit I've never seen the inside of the sump...until tomorrow.
-
This is probably an obvious question but, has anyone considered trying to relocate the oil pump pickup?
-
Nope, no water anywhere and the light is the stock setup..

Oh, I hope so. My other bike is a '97 Sporty. This spring it'll be a street tracker. Yes a gage is the best idea. Experience tells me to run the feed line through braided cover though. Had a '67 Chevelle SS that anointed the ankles of my best bell bottoms after wearing through the line on a dash brace.

You weren't on rt 8 north of Winsted today, were you? That was me on the side of the road expressing my affection for this bike. I'll PM him shortly.

Far as I can tell, but I never get the same reading twice in the same day anyway!

Just finished reading some old posts relative to the oil light blinking on, coming on dimly, etc. and I think I'm safe with my experience today as it sounds rather common. These old hills up here in CT & Mass. can be long and frequent. Somewhere on one of them my oil light came on dimly. "WTF!?" asks I. "How longs THAT been on?" Had plenty of oil when I left, with oil sitting on the ledge of the high oil mark of the dip stick while on the side stand. So, I pulled over & stopped. COULD NOT get the dip stick out! I carry some tools so a struggle with pliers finally got it out but, again, "WTF!!??" Not cross threaded. Engine overheated & clamped down on it? Damn if I know. (Just ordered a aluminum dip stick anyway as I hate that stock one.) But anyway, no untoward noises. Late enough in the season I'll drop the sump, pan for gold and pray I strike out. The REAL puzzler is the last 3/4 of a mile to my house is a long hill. Off I started with my ass puckering some fierce. The oil light went OUT and never lit up again as I climbed that hill! Go figure. Also reckon I should install the Roper plate as well. Are they still available?

Sorry, haven't been able to get back 'til now. Yes, the Mini. I'd like to execute a design which involves cleaning up the front end quite a bit and I'd like the display as small as possible. But my major concern is in eliminating the stock speedo & tach. Wondering if that would have any unsuspected influence on any other circuitry or device.

Hope everyone had a good summer. I'm interested in installing a Motogadget unit on my '03( http://www.spieglerusa.com/motogadget/motoscopeminipage.cfm ) and am wondering if there are any pitfalls associated with this? In the back of my mind I seem to have formed a hopefully irrational fear that so many things are associated with the speedometer I might just blown the whole damn thing up! I'm also considering a different headlight too if that would have any bearing. Anyone have experience with Motogadget? ............now that I read that last sentence I think I asked this here once before! Well, maybe there's new folk here. Amuse an old man then, eh?

Thought I had tree sap on mine a few years back. Turns out I was just happy to be riding. It hasn't happened since.

Would it be alright to eliminate the multiple ground wires going directly to the battery by tracing them back to their origin and grounding them to the frame there ? (Making certain, of course, that continuity is maintained) Drill & tap some holes and be done I figure. Oh, also...the R4 & R5 relays...ECU and Injection is it? Anyway they're smaller than the other 3. Do they have different values or can I order all 5 of the better relays?
-
Which models utilize the Tonti frame? I seem to recall someone converting a... Jackal was it? California? Lovely effort.
-
Heh! Is there a dealer near anyone these days? Yes there's one left in CT but I might as well just get 1/2" black fuel hose & be done with it.
-
Replacing the braided line from the tank to the pump. Mine's a bit tatty.
-
Thank you! I'm mostly non-confrontational so the arguments just float by! Too old for that silliness. Yes I sussed out the size once I got back home to the bike. Now all I need to know is where to find the damn hose! I ordered some -8 from Summit Racing and either they sent the wrong size or -8 is NOT 1/2". The -8 they sent measures closer to 3/8". Anyone have a source of actual 12mm hose?
-
I searched, all I found was a lot of arguments and unrelated stuff. What is the ID of the fuel line from tank to pump please? 1/2"?
-
I could swear I posted this before but can't find it again. Last year I pulled up to a stop and heard a soft "woo-woo-woo" noise from the rear and I thought I was told it was the rear brake...but I can't remember the fix! Anyone care to re-educate me? Caliper rebuild was it?
-
Looking at the Furia Replica sub-frame; battery and all the electronics/ECU/etc. fit in that tray under the seat?
-
I'm hoping my PClll will adjust for any of that. Please don't tell me you've got one and it didn't fill the hole! (cringe)

No, I put on pods and now that vent line is flopping around. I ws thinking about putting a nozzle on there and touching off a small eternal flame .....Whoa, wait! I can plug that? There's another method of venting that system beside through the airbox?
