If the heads are off, the sparkplug caps are off. You probably pull on the cable to the coil when mounting. This could be a bit loose on the end of the coil. Enough to give a spark in the open but too little under compression. Just some thoughts. But I agree; it sounds like almost everything has been checked already. Are you sure you turned the crankshaft in the right direction? Using the rear wheel to push it forward, for example?

My first suspicion would still go to the ignition. It sounds like the timing is incorrect. Do jo have a stroboscope to check the spark while starting? You probably wiggled the sparkplug cables when taking the heads off. Please recheck everything related to that, connection to the coils and caps and plugs. For the carbs, is that PHF30? Or PHBH30? Main jet is not important for starting. Only for full throttle. That is the last one to improve. You could also share your question on the MGCN site, there are a few top experts on this.

I was wondering if one of you had used an Aprilia RSV Mile or Tuono front fork and wheel, etc. The older ones are rather cheap over here, and the wheels are lighter. I can imagine the standard front forks of Aprilia are a bit better than the V11s. The offset is not that much different.

If the RPMs are to low the elect ign will not fire. 10w60 in the V11 is also thick oil at these temperatures.

Additional motorcycle riding course is indeed very important. I do think this is most effective if you have just the experience to automatically control your bike and you have the basic feeling for brakes and leaning into an average corner. The small block Guzzi's imho are easy to control, have a low seating position, ABS and nicely made. They have acceptable maintenance. For new riders and restarted, I would wish they don't have worries about the reliability and little things that bother the concentration. Anyway, I wish him a lot of pleasure.

Here in 2021 just after arrival in Lecco. If I believe the story of the previous owner, this 2001 (from chassisnumber) production model was used for the press to ride around Mandello. In 2005 it was sold to the first owner. I was second in 2015. But nothing can be verified. Nice bike though. I also love the color.

There are by now quite some research results on this topic. More uniformity in name function and how to operate would make it possible to have more generic education for drivers. Now it is up to the sales person and the attention of the buyer if this item comes up at all. I would assume that the camera system has some sort of a verification of the reliability op the perception. Night-time is perhaps a more challenging condition. Is a driver aware of this? Anyway a sad thing. Rear ending without a clear cause is a rare accident over here.

@MartyNZ What you describe is the Guzzi original (alu colored) rack. I have that type on my other V11 Sport 😀 Anyway, ultimately I can adapt the rack so the M8 bolts will fit

I borrow this picture, since I got a luggage rack like this. Like the TS, I also have a mounting problem, but then with this rack. I mounted the subframe and now the rack is next. The subframe has 3 holes for the rack on both sides. The center hole of these 3 is just a 8mm hole that can be used to fix a M8 bold in a threadhole in the racktube. The subframe has nuts welded on the two other holes M8 for fixing with bolts from the outside of the rack. But these M8 can not be used because the rack has 6mm holes. Does anybody know how Stucchi had imagined to do this? I could drill the 6mm holes to 8mm, but it seems their is no room for the head of a M8 bolt. Does anybody have experience with this?
