I'm not into skying the front end and to be honest my hard acceleration tends to be from a rolling start, ie overtaking, merging with traffic etc. I'll be watching the light for a while I think. The Roper baffle plate sounds like good kit though and a damn site cheaper than a toasted bottom end. Might have to see how much one is in £ sterling including postage etc. Mick.

Hi. I've heard quite a bit about the oil starvation problems on the V11. Mine is a 2001 model and I'm wondering how bad a problem is it? I do not wring the bikes neck and generally stick to 85-90mph on the M/way. As advised by a main dealer I keep the oil level topped well up, (to the mark with dipstick NOT screwed in). Is it a thrashers problem, or a more general problem that will inevitably kill my engine? Mick.

I'm 6'2" and at 47 no longer as bendy as I was but have no problems with the standard set up on naked sport. Right handed too! Regards, Mick.

Well I've clocked about 700 miles and no more problems, I think it was a mixture of a little too much weight when 2 up for the settings as bought and me not really knowing the bike. Well happy, Cheers all for the advice, Mick.

Cheers all for the advice. I've looked at sag and when solo it's not that far out and handling is great. It's looking like the suspension was being asked a little too much whilst 2 up! I'll just have to tell my wife she's too heavy . On second thoughts I'll go naked crocodile wrestling, It'll be safer .

Hi All. Since I picked up the new bike (2001 V11 Sport, naked), I've been following a few threads on here regarding the above. My 1st MG was an 850 Mk11 LM (20+ yrs ago) which I found to be totaly flickable and very easy to ride hard. Having returned to the Marque and buying the V11 after a lot of years away from bikes I've found the V11 a bit of a hand full on a couple of occasions. Setting her into a corner and riding through she's magic, even at (to me) silly angles of lean whilst on the gas as I'm exiting. The problem I've experienced is in executing quick left right left changes when such as when crossing a roundabout at lower speeds, on two occasions I've found myself running wide of my line and wondered if there is a 'rule of thumb' as to steering damper settings? This subject has caused some pretty vitriolic exchanges on here which I'm not interested in getting involved with, nor do I fancy the "hands off, bang the bars" experiment. (Too chicken????). Just looking for some basic pointers. The suspension in all honesty is to my mind set up great, no wollowing and soaks up everything I've encountered up to now without losing any fillings. It may just be that I need to get a lot more miles in to get the knack back. Regards all, Mike.

Well, as posted earlier we brought the new (to us) bike home last week, 300 miles of motorway, 2 up, no problem. Today we went out early, 140 miles on a mix of nice hilly A roads (FANTASTIC!), and narrow twisty lanes, (BUGGER, SHE'S HEAVY!). We've had a real ball and whilst she's not as nimble as the old lemon (Rose tinted specs maybe?), she sticks like the proverbial. I'm pleased to report that the rear BattleAxe no longer has any embarrasing shiny bits .
