  2. Good one Bjor, real nice. love ya fairing & twin lights especially. Is it aftermarket, what name?
  3. Yeeeeay! Pulled the trigger! Just got done ordering my set with Mike - he also took the time chatting bout all things guzzi.
  4. Sure thing - keeper - the last of the last of the old-school Guzzi's!
  5. ...so maybe dlaing was the little runt after all! Ratchethack gets chucked off - and dlaing then pisses off 'cos he decided it was not as much fun after all with 'ol Ratch gone. Bit rich of the whinging little prick don'tcha think? The protagonist's hand-bagging each other may have got a bit much at times - but at least there was something to read when you visited! Often I swing by from time to time & the post's have'nt changed! WTF is that all about? And you still say you don't want Ratch back? Listen, forum's are a unique mix of learning, enlightenment, my willy's bigger than your willy, and my Dad's bigger than your dad, bullshitting entertaining coloseum - kinda like what mates do really! C'mon guy's, we're supposed to be guzzi brothers! Some of my best memories are the fights I had with my own flesh & blood... (R.I.P.) I say, let's see whether he'd bury the hatchet and join the faaaaaaamily once again. We're bigger than that are'nt we? Betcha dlaing will turn up soon after too....
  6. Came too late on the scene - so only got to know him by proxy... But, but... I sure miss that RatchetHack. Aah, to suckle on those vinegar tits & to feel the swipe of his gnarly paw - I love that ol' codger! Bring him back Jaap!
  7. These pistons were developed by Mike Rich primarily to do away with any 'ping' Bjor - which made the dual-plug mod simply redundant in acheiving that. I'm certainly happy going this simple path, but not in any dual-plugging complexity. Improving the bikes intrinsic qualities is fine for me - but I'd probably sell my bike if I'm trying to create something more than the sum of its parts.
  8. Hey, don't you get it? We're his fwriends, he's 'aving a beer, remembrin' his '66 romanticized childhood - and he wants to talk...
  9. I've got M5 Sportec's as in this pic. Absolute confidence, grip, feedback! Could'nt be happier...
  10. I struggle to get things I glue to stick - so DIY soldering electrical thingymejigs, just thinking about it, scares the living crap outta me! If only Kiwi Roy adopted me! Roughly how much having it ready made?
  11. IMHO, Guzzi's 90 degree V-twin with shaftdrive layout is what inherently makes Guzzi a Guzzi... Water evolution - hell, even adding a couple of cylinders - ala shaft-drive Motus, would suit the marque. If not 911-type refining, then explore completely new radical territory! Nembo, Horex, Christini ilk, just try to avoid trad chain-drive...
  12. ...now that's thinking outside the envelope Capt'n!
  13. Baldini You know I'm keeping an eye on, er, Captain Nemo's donkey dong, but just because it can be done - does'nt mean it should! Getting back to this former mod though, I'm accepting Moto Guzzi designed the airbox as is with forward facing intakes for a reason - so why should'nt scooping more (cool) air into their airbox not work? I accept true 'ram-air' effect may not be acheived under 100mph or so, but surely, bigger scoops, scooping more air into the box does makes sense now! Why has'nt this pvc mod, or as suggested radiator hose alternative, simply not been adopted or at least tried by more riders? Drilling 3 holes in the lid, or taking off altogether, may be less fiddly option to creating gains - but is it REALLY the BEST, or just acceptd as such?
  14. Reactivating old post - but does anyone know if cooler air funnelled thru extended, coned-shaped intakes actually had an effect? Is Tracy around to comment? Improving on this particular mod is what I'm trying to get more info on. Anyone given it a shot & have any seat-of-yer-pants results to report? Why would the (seemingly more usual) bell-mouthing of the stock intakes work, when combined with drilling holes in lid? Seems counter-intuitive...
  15. Bloody hell! Genuinely shocking - the audacity! Still, I just can't look away!
  16. I like him! But, I must confess, I like that Ratchethack bloke too - before my time, I know he's gone but I find all the old posts great fun reading! He'd have my vote to welcome back. Then again, my 'ol Ma admonished to alway's say to nasty kids, "Sticks & stones may break my bones - but names will never hurt me!" And seeing this is a bloody free-speech forum, just how violent can it get? F@ck it! I thought guzzi blokes had pride in being are bit odd, rude, cantankerous etc! But thin-skinned as well? Better hope Baldrick never turns up here!!! So here's to all the mad, bad guzzi nutters riding, pontificating & annoying the hell outta each other!
  17. He is special isn't he. I remember a few yrs ago I spotted him [or should I say I spotted his bike, perfect for those color blind] at the Vashon TT, resplendently parked at a corner so everyone could see him. He was sitting there revving his bike up, without his helmet on, just revving it up and looking at everyone, a real attention whore we all thought. Didn't know he would be stupid enough to steal from the only Guzzi shop worth visiting in the PNW. That's ok, my opinion of him can't get any lower. Steve Been scooting around reading up all I can on Mike Rich piston swaps when I stumbled over these comments... Just wanna clarify, is this Enzo the same bloke aka. Captain Nemo?
  18. Hey enzo here you go - sans donkey kong...
  19. You know what Mike? If it is as you say that on the basis they are truly plug & play, I'm gunna help get the ball rolling & put my hand up for a set. Seems these items may prove to be a bit of a rare opportunity insomuch as not being available too often - not to mention price rises! One last question with this particular P&P - sure no fuelling or balance issues are incurred? Higher compression AND with less ping? Sounds like a great little win-win p&p pep-up in that case... Cheers!
  20. Went hunting & found this from 2004, but would'nt mind more comprehensive info on full range of benefits.
  21. Say Mike... so for cost of $495.00 just what is the sum total benefit that is gained? Are there other changes necessary to be done to fully exploit this swap? What limitations do the stock pistons give as compared to the MR's? Is one to assume from Rich's reluctance to have 12 sets sitting on shelf that these pistons give small gains? I mean, if they're so good why don't V11 owners clamber all over each other to get ahold of 'em? Or, is it, like me, a lack of full understanding of the merits? If I knew exactly what to expect I'd be able to weigh up the pros & cons of your request to add to the list! Care to enlighten? Thanks, ScuRoo
  22. Well, I gave it a bit of contemplation... & then decided a couple of kermit-eyes should'nt nobble a worthy shot at the guzzi cool title! Pity those velocity tubes are'nt on with it running! Enjoy!
  23. Hey Naveyblue Let you know asap. Can't confirm definitely yet, but I can advise 'maybe' - depends if all the ducks line up...! Er, or should that be geese! Umm, goose?
  24. Those old Ambo's do look good too don't they... Question is, could I sneak another in?
