Ledenon was a blast! 16 Guzzis on the track. The sweet thundering sound of all those Guzzis was recorded. I will post a mp3 file and a video soon.
Paul on his Daytona:
After one day I was the only V11 left...
FWIW: the Conti RoadAttack are excellent for normal road use, but on the track, they desintegrate quite rapidy...
The last weekend of June the MG Club Bodensee has their annual Guzzi Rally in Owingen-Hohenbodmann. I have been there twice. Very nice meeting. It is held at the Gasthof Adler ("The Eagle Inn" :!: ) which is a very nice place to stay (and rather cheap) Don't know about camping sites though.
Why is everybody worried about the finish? Just put a soft cloth (even an ordinary towel will do!) over the tailpiece before you put on the tailbags...
I'd be honored, but you'll have to do it without me... I'm planning on going in 2006 (85th Anniversary) together with about 200 (!) other Guzzisti. The trip is organized by TLM.
On Discovery Channel they have a similar show: "Mythbusters". Very funny and educational: like f.i. a raw egg in a leaking car radiator; will it plug the hole? Yes!
@ DeBenGuzzi: If I ask fixed amounts I could get in trouble with the Dutch IRS...
BTW, the ring can be found here: http://www.motorradschmuck.de/de/neuheiten/article_1286/
Don't ask me anything about it; I only found the link on the german Guzzi forum.
Could well be; it's german...
Guy, I'll be in Boxmeer on Saturday. Maybe we can meet? You'll probably find me looking at V11's or Daytona's I bet a few other members will show up there too.
The day before yesterday I rode my first 100 kms with the OZ wheels. I didn't notice any difference without the cush drive. (I'm not a clutch popper)
What I DID notice was the much lighter front wheel. I really had to get used to that. I turned up the steering damper a few clicks which made handling excellent.
@DeBenGuzzi: I don't take any chances with helmets.
@Tomsp: I wonder how many V11 riders would kick their Japanese Arai's
And proper fitting is requirement #1; HJC was perfect.
Pictures of the ECH (Emmentaler Cheese Helmet)
In Holland there are no warnings on helmets; we already know we have to close the visor to prevent eye damage from bugs...
Only the inner padding split.
Just came back from the bike store. Jeez, talk about limited options! I went for a top of the line helmet: Schubert, Arai, X-Lite, etc. All too small!!! I came home with a nice black HJC, with 10% season-opening discount: € 190,-
This afternoon:
The whole winter I had plans to repaint my helmet (UVEX K1) and turn it into a piece of Emmentaler chees. (with the according holes.) Yesterday afternoon I finished the paintwork and stuck on the holes (vinyl) Yesterday evening I wanted to put the helmet back together. When I pushed in the tempex "inner-helmet" it broke in two...
Damn! All that work for nothing, 300 Euro down the drain and now I have to look for a new helmet. And that has to be today, because spring has arrived in Holland (sunny and between 15 and 20 °C)
Now that's off my chest, I can go to the bike shop and fit some helmets. "Seattle, thank you for listening"
